Omigod- can we please just get Emily to 1 million subbies already! I always feel like i'm watching a special edition news cast (sports or current affairs). Bullet point after bullet point, it's all broken down and every angle is taken into account. Yes it's "only" makeup but only a professional can unravel the intricacies in such a way that the viewer walks away feeling assured that "yes, yes indeed, everything has it's time and place" but eyeshadow can be serious business too.

I seriously do not understand why companies did not discover you yet! I am seeing some artificial youtubers sent all the products for free. I would like you to be supported more than you are at the moment. Love you so much Emily. I buy most of my products according to your reviews and they never failed me!
A lot of times, the companies want to send the stuff for free in exchange for a positive review but the kicker is that they don't send you the products ahead of time to use and see if you like them. They just want you to sign a contract that you will give a positive review on their products when you haven't even used them yet! I'm sure Emily would never do that... she's a classy chick. :) You also have youtubers who will only sign a contract to review after they have had time to check out products and see if they like them before reviewing for a company. I see nothing wrong with this since, if they don't like the product, they wouldn't sign the contract to review and therefore... no review would even happen. This is the win/win way to do it. The youtuber keeps their honesty and integrity and the company, if they have a great product, gets their product reviewed by a famous youtuber. But the other thing to keep in mind is that there are a lot of reputable companies that do want youtubers to review their products and send the products for free in HOPES that they will 1. Do a review in the first place and 2. If they do a review, it will be in a positive light. That's why you hear some people say in their videos as a disclaimer, "Too Faced sent me this and I don't have to review it or anything but I thought I would because I really love the product". If a youtuber gives false reviews just to make money, it will eventually come back to bite them. People will go out to buy the products based on their reviews and slowly but surely will lose their follower base because the positive reviews are actually for products that either aren't wonderful OR flatout stink... Hopefully I explained that well... whew! That was a lot of typing... LOL
My problem -- and I do have one, lol -- is that I do not NEED any palettes at all. I have more than any one person could use in a lifetime. But I want, want, want! :-D I can say no to everything else, but palettes are my weakness! Anyone relate?? lol
The ABH Modern Renaissance palette is my very first ABH palette and I can't believe I haven't bought one of their palettes before. It is GORGEOUS and absolutely every single shade in the palette is amazing. Normally there are one or two that don't work pigmentation wise or are difficult to blend but I'm so happy that's not the case with these. If anyone is on the fence about this palette I suggest you pick it up, you will not regret it!

I would be interested in seeing a video about the palettes that have really impressed you over time. There are so many new palette releases but also some stand-by classics that we hear about (e.g. Naked 1, Lorac 1). Of all of your palettes, which have "made the cut," so to speak?
Does anyone else love the way Emily swatches the palettes? You can see all the colors in the same swatches at the same time, and not to forget, they r in the same order as laid out in the palette. Ahhhh, simply l❤️💛💚💙💜ve it!!
I saw this video when I was deciding what palette to buy and I ordered the Modern Renaissance palette. Every time I use it I just fall in love even more with the palette! The quality of the shadows is bombbbb, like they blend themselves and look super gorgeous, makes me think of you every time I use it!

I find that the Lorac 3 is fantastic for my everyday looks. Plus it's a great supplement to my palettes that lack highlight and transition shades appropriate for my very fair complexion. It's just the easiest palette for me to work with. I can use it for any look, soft or bold. Because it is neutral, I can wear any blush or lipstick I want.
+Savanah Pepper I can't vouch for the 3, but I own the 2 and if the formulas are the same then I can safely say that they are amazingly soft and buttery!
They are buttery! Lorac Pro shadows are some of my favorites! I've heard people don't like Loracs shadows because they're "too soft." Really people? Too soft? Hah, I'd rather have them be too soft than be some scratchy ass eyeshadow!! But because they're really soft, they kick up powder when you dip your brush in them.....that's why some people don't like them. But I truly do not care if something kicks up powder! Just tap off your friggen' brush! I mean, after all, it IS powder!! I think people just say they don't like them just because soooo many people DO love them. Ya know? I say anyone wanting to get the new LORAC 3, should most definitely get it! Mmmm just smooth, buttery, gorgeous pigmentation! Ugh, god look at me going on and on about eyeshadow! Haha. I already knew I was going to be picking up the new ABH Renaissance palette (I'm also thinking about getting the summer lip gloss set as well- I don't own any ABH glosses and the color selection and PRICE is making that a no brainer for me!). I have neverrrrr been disappointed by ABH Palettes, I continue to use each and every one and they're typically what I grab when I travel! Thanks for sharing girlfriend 😍😍 and I totally agree I will be skipping on the Pro3 palette. I use and love the pro 1 and 2 and mega pro 2, don't need anymore in that format as of right now 😆😆

I recently bought it and I love it. very nice pigmentation. the shades 1987, danger, steady and baby are why I bought it but the color pop did disappoint because of it being gritty/chunky glitter. it just doesn't apply as it looks. since its on sale at Ulta I would recommend it but definitely not sure if its worth the full original price.

The new Lorac palette may be perfect for "mature" women. At least I hope it is because I cannot wait to purchase it! I just can't wear dark eye shadow colors. Great video!
i'm the same in that im always left with the darkest shades in a palette because i simply don't use them at all! when you have little eye space and a light/medium skin tone, just having a little bit too much dark colour can make an eye look really heavy/smoky. sadly there seems to be a few 'light' palettes coming out that are charging wayy too much for light shades (UD gwen stefani), its much better to get individuals and build my own palette, but i cant stop wanting to get new palettes just in case i can get a great shade by chance (UD YDK is awesome!!)

Aside from the gorgeous shades in the modern renaissance palette, the quality of the shadows are extremely good 😍 so easy to blend with amazing pigment! My favorite at the moment 😍

the whole line in general to be honest, my impression is tht they don't do as many releases per year which could be why as well as the rate at which indie and online brands are pumping out collections
yes i feel that but i have never felt super impressed with the balm for the price. if they were cheaper amd not online (cuz shipping) then ya id love the balm but its not necessary since i can get lorac and anastasia at ulta or now mac eyeshadow for a good price
I have the In the Balm of Your Hand pallette and I love it. I am surprised there aren't more tutorials with it. Especially because it's also items that are popular all I'm one place
i think lorac pro 3 isn't the palette for medium to dark skin-tones. the shades are too light and very pinky and the shades look almost similar with each other

Ugh, I'm so SICK of nude palettes!!! I really want an all-blue or all-purple or all-green palette now. Just to cleanse my palate. So to speak. But seriously. Enough nudes. YAWN.
But that's what the majority of people like. And use on a regular basis. Ya know, like the people who work everyday. They can't be going to work with green and blue Eyeshadows.
If you use some restraint, depending on your job, and a lighter hand greens, blues etc can be used on a regular basis for people who work everyday, Matt
I understand.. I love the new releases and so many are just more of the same. If you want color themed palettes check out the Clinique wear everywhere palettes.. they do it right. Beautiful colors and just enough coordinating neutrals to make it all work.

I ordered the Anastasia Modern Renaissance and cannot wait to play with it! I have my eyes on the Lorac 3 just because they are easy no brainer shades and with kids and little time to get ready, I need palettes like that. Emily what camera and lens do you use? Your camera focuses so quickly on products and then refocuses back on you quick too. I recently got the have the rebel t5i with the kit lens that came with it (18-55 mm 3.5-5.6) and when showing a product as I talk about it, it takes so long to focus and then refocus on me and I find it slows my videos down because I end up waiting for it to focus. Also, amazing video and idea once again :) love your videos!!
Great review! I really want the ABH palette. The formula is fantastic. Only thing that bugs me is the price increase compared to the previous palettes. Not sure on the US side but in the UK the last two were in the £23-26 range yet Modern Renaissance is £45 😳🤔

okay so I own 1 eyeshadow...not a palette but just one shadow...I got it in the mail today in my glam bag. I've recently gotten very interested in makeup and although I've worn it very little in the past my stuff was super old and hand me down gifty type yucko. So I threw it all away and started over. The one I got today was by urban decay and I am wondering if you would recommend a urban decay palette with varying colors? Thanks so much for your input.

Have you checked out the new Smashbox palette that claims to be for eyes, brows, and liner? I checked it out at ulta and it felt wonderful but I didn't buy it since it was very classic and I have many of those colors many times over. I would be curious to hear your thoughts on whether the shadows performed better than standard black and brown eyeshadows that can always be used for brows or liner. Thanks Emily!

There is a ton of tutorials on here for that palette! Definitely do a search! I have that palette and I do enjoy it. Not my fav but it's decent!

I recently bought it and I love it. very nice pigmentation. the shades 1987, danger, steady and baby are why I bought it but the color pop did disappoint because of it being gritty/chunky glitter. it just doesn't apply as it looks. since its on sale at Ulta I would recommend it but definitely not sure if its worth the full original price.
I bought it months ago and returned it - terrible pigmentation and I also thought the colors all mud'd up

Hey Emily! I actually need help choosing an eyeshadow palette to buy! I am deciding between the ABH modern renaissance palette, the Tartlette in Bloom palette and the Too faced chocolate bar palette. I want a palette that has good pigmentation, last a long time and is very versatile (I am neutral toned, but leaning towards warm toned)

The new Lorac palette may be perfect for "mature" women. At least I hope it is because I cannot wait to purchase it! I just can't wear dark eye shadow colors. Great video!

i'm the same in that im always left with the darkest shades in a palette because i simply don't use them at all! when you have little eye space and a light/medium skin tone, just having a little bit too much dark colour can make an eye look really heavy/smoky. sadly there seems to be a few 'light' palettes coming out that are charging wayy too much for light shades (UD gwen stefani), its much better to get individuals and build my own palette, but i cant stop wanting to get new palettes just in case i can get a great shade by chance (UD YDK is awesome!!)

Aside from the gorgeous shades in the modern renaissance palette, the quality of the shadows are extremely good 😍 so easy to blend with amazing pigment! My favorite at the moment 😍

yes, it's the liquid lipstick. I love literally every color. they are just perfect colors for anyone. I would definitely recommend them!

the balm palettes don't get much love, anyone else feel like that?
the whole line in general to be honest, my impression is tht they don't do as many releases per year which could be why as well as the rate at which indie and online brands are pumping out collections
yes i feel that but i have never felt super impressed with the balm for the price. if they were cheaper amd not online (cuz shipping) then ya id love the balm but its not necessary since i can get lorac and anastasia at ulta or now mac eyeshadow for a good price
they sell The Balm at Khols now, if u have one near u, u can look at their stuff in person :)
I have the In the Balm of Your Hand pallette and I love it. I am surprised there aren't more tutorials with it. Especially because it's also items that are popular all I'm one place

i think lorac pro 3 isn't the palette for medium to dark skin-tones. the shades are too light and very pinky and the shades look almost similar with each other

Ugh, I'm so SICK of nude palettes!!! I really want an all-blue or all-purple or all-green palette now. Just to cleanse my palate. So to speak. But seriously. Enough nudes. YAWN.
But that's what the majority of people like. And use on a regular basis. Ya know, like the people who work everyday. They can't be going to work with green and blue Eyeshadows.
So keep on "yawning" because nudes aren't going anywhere!

I understand.. I love the new releases and so many are just more of the same. If you want color themed palettes check out the Clinique wear everywhere palettes.. they do it right. Beautiful colors and just enough coordinating neutrals to make it all work.

Can you recommend an olive green that comes out true? for example I can see there was an olive colour in the Bare Minerals palette but it didn't come out that green, and I remember the you said the Kat Von D mini palettes also didn't have that true green. thanks!
I ordered the Anastasia Modern Renaissance and cannot wait to play with it! I have my eyes on the Lorac 3 just because they are easy no brainer shades and with kids and little time to get ready, I need palettes like that. Emily what camera and lens do you use? Your camera focuses so quickly on products and then refocuses back on you quick too. I recently got the have the rebel t5i with the kit lens that came with it (18-55 mm 3.5-5.6) and when showing a product as I talk about it, it takes so long to focus and then refocus on me and I find it slows my videos down because I end up waiting for it to focus. Also, amazing video and idea once again :) love your videos!!

Great review! I really want the ABH palette. The formula is fantastic. Only thing that bugs me is the price increase compared to the previous palettes. Not sure on the US side but in the UK the last two were in the £23-26 range yet Modern Renaissance is £45 😳🤔

okay so I own 1 eyeshadow...not a palette but just one shadow...I got it in the mail today in my glam bag. I've recently gotten very interested in makeup and although I've worn it very little in the past my stuff was super old and hand me down gifty type yucko. So I threw it all away and started over. The one I got today was by urban decay and I am wondering if you would recommend a urban decay palette with varying colors? Thanks so much for your input.

Have you checked out the new Smashbox palette that claims to be for eyes, brows, and liner? I checked it out at ulta and it felt wonderful but I didn't buy it since it was very classic and I have many of those colors many times over. I would be curious to hear your thoughts on whether the shadows performed better than standard black and brown eyeshadows that can always be used for brows or liner. Thanks Emily!
