I personally prefer the higher one to keep my helmet in when parking. But it’s looking nice with the low box.

They are really well made cases.
I bought a pair of the 36 litre Dolomiti Panniers to go on my Tenere 660 a few years ago. The fit well and the width was inside the handlebars' width, so good. But. They were also 4.4kg each and I could really feel the weight, especially when loaded.
I ended up going back to my1990's Givi E28's. Plastic, shaped like squashed hexagons to allow pillion comfort, and 1.8kg each.
Still going strongvwhen she travels with me.
These days on my own I just use a soft bag on the back seat.
Looks good on your bike though, in black.
    Ride safe 👍

Thanks, yes keep it light is also my philosophy. But at least the topbox weighs just half of my previous vario topbox :-) Ride safe !

    Hi Sven,
I too am not a fan of oversized top cases. That's why I mounted a smaller one on my RT. The GIVI top case looks good and seems to be of good quality for your R1300GS. I myself would also have chosen the black version for your triple black. The combination (bike and case) looks very good. Good choice! Thanks for the video.

Looks good, as you say, it’s all you need. I had the top box and panniers on my 2018 Yamaha 1200 Super Ten. Very well made no complaints with them. BMW have got it all wrong with the luggage for the 1300GS. I’m sure they’ll get it sorted!
    Excellent, interesting video again. 👏👏

Thanks, yes they will get it sorted :-) The vario cases have great functionality, but I dont like side cases with no top loading.

Got one on my Multi V2S, hate top cases but great for my camera gear and looks good on a SW Motech Street Rack with Givi adapter.

Yes I also need storage for my cam equipment, first aid kit, airpump and tyre plug set and a coke :-)

Is there a back rest that can be added to this top box for max pillion comfort?

Well, if you r OK with only 30L 🤔 ....
This moving system - does it REALLY help to stabilize the top-box ( loaded to max )??
And - is the gear shifter on your bike, made of plastic ?? If yes - what's the idea behind it ?

I had the same system on my F800GT topbox and was then told it was for stabilization. I guess BMW has some idea behind it, but if it REALLY helps I dont know. I dont know what material the gear shifter is made of. Sorry.
