- To be able to connect your @SiemensKnowledgeHub S7-1200 PLC to OPC UA your CPU needs to be version 4.4 or higher. If the CPU is of an older version, such as 4.0, you can simply upgrade it to version 4.4.

Though all videos of RealPars are informative and clearly understable but those with the real visuals put an outstanding impression to the viewers.
Hi Hamza,
thanks a lot for your kind compliment! We are always extremely happy to hear such positive feedback! If you ever have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.
Happy learning!
@@realpars Yes, though your videos are neat and clear. with real visuals put more clearer visualization and understanding
awesome
Congratulations for the initiative. These features will put the PLC-1200 at the top of industry 4.0 at an affordable financial cost.
Thanks for your support, Adriano!
I want to make smart farms,Hidroponic and Aquaponics at a big scale some day. Righ now I'm just in the begining but I think Siemens technology is perfect for these
That is great! So S7 1200 with FW 4.4 are able to use OPC UA, right? Sorry my english is not too good.
S7-1200 v4.4 is required for the new features, including OPC UA Server and MQTT to the cloud. Earlier versions of the S7-1200 support OPC DA.
U also need TIA Portal v16 or greater for OPC UA.
Nice, but we prefer to work with Beckhoff, specially in IoT and motion control.
Why Beckhoff?
How to Connect TWDLMDA20DRT PLC Twido to OPC KEPServer?
Twido is a Schneider Electric product, and OPC functionality is most easily implemented with Schneider's SoMachine software product.
Realpars is really good ❤❤❤
Thank you, Atir!
Thank you.Realpars
You are very welcome, Suijn!
hope we see a lot of cources like this one
Great to hear your enthusiasm! Happy learning!
So in short, you don't have to configure anything, you just have to update the CPU to version 4.4 and it's ready to connect/communicate with other controller or SCADA via OPC UA?
You do have to activate the OPC-UA server from the OPC-UA menu item in the CPU properties. You can also inspect the OPC-UA TCP setup, including the server address. On the client side, you just need to configure and send the TCP messages to access the CPU and the data you want. It is easy to do, but you need to understand how OPC-UA works on the client side as well as the S7-1200 CPU server side.
@@realpars if the case is that the plc programming has been done and every field devices and HMI has been connected via profinet protocol, testing has been done and all control works properly . But at last we want to connect to SCADA and eventually activate the OPC UA protocol in the setup, is it going to effect the connection and communication between field devices and HMI that has been established before?
What rev of tia portal do you need? I'm running 14. Can I add this to if I'm not up to the newest rev of tia portal?
Yes, both CloudConnect and MindConnect are able to work with TIA Portal 14. These products require add-on libraries for TIA Portal. For the S7-1200, the minimum firmware revision required for the CPU is v4.4.
@@realpars Thank you for the concept introduction video! Great to know that the 1200 family now directly supports OPC-UA. Can you please clarify your mention of CloudConnect and MindConnect? What are they and are they needed for setting up the S7-1200s for OPC-UA communication with the cloud?
Are there video tutorials for MQTT?
THANK YOU SO MUCH
GOOD JOB
You are very welcome, Badr! Happy learning!
Can i try that PLc Advance Sim 3.0
It is good news. Thank you.
You are very welcome!
I love automation
What is the benefits of connecting the plc to the cloud. Can anybody explain this please.
I 👍 this 📹
Hi Muhammad!
Thanks for your comment and your suggestion. I will pass this on to our course developers!
Thanks for sharing and happy learning!
Hey Real pars do u have training institution in India??
Hi Nagesh,
Thanks for reaching out!
Great to hear your motivation to start your PLC programming training! However, RealPars is a 100% online educational platform, we do not provide any offline training.
However, learning online can have great advantages. Besides that, as a subscriber, you obtain full access to our Technical Team who will answer any questions you might have along your learning journey!
You can always try our free course in PLC Hardware through the following link bit.ly/2XnnUrF
Hopefully, this clears things up a bit. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach back out!
Happy learning!

What do you mean CPU version 4.4?
This is referring to the version of the S7-1200 firmware, version 4.4.
Thx sir , I get it
Thanks for a very interesting video.
Is it possible to write programs for the S7-1200 using Rust?
No, not unless someone has developed a compiler that will output the executable as S7-1200 machine code. The languages that can be used in an S7-1200 are limited to three of the IEC 61131-3 languages: Ladder logic (LAD), function block (FBD), and structured text (SCL).
Thank you @@realpars.
Keep up the great work!
Awesome
Thank you, Mareedhu!

Thank you, Behzad!
Siemens is Trying to catch up with IIOT .
this will encourage the rest
They are not the only one...not even close
@@osmozinho wish they had Object Oriented Programming like Codesys 3.5 Now you can only just program simple stuff on all Siemens PLC's.... Structured Text on siemens is SOOO limited and not DRY for large code sets.
