I love greek bakeries! We always visit the local one whenever we visit! I do like Bougatsa, and December 2022 I was introduced to Finikia, soooo nice. I brought a box home from the local bakery and took them into work the next day, everybody loved them. Aparently they are a christmas seasonal treat (a small cake with honey, cinnamon, etc), sooo nice!

Nice idea and tasty food! Μπορείτε ακόμη να δοκιμάσετε σταφιδόψωμο, δίπλες, μηλόπιτα, λουκουμάδες! (they are all sweet and traditional).

Hi my beloved girls!! U should warn about such videos, i watched it while dead hungry n it was a real torture!! 😁😁
Btw, those little sausage were definitely NOT "piroski", but ordinary sausage pies. (Piroski is quite different)
PS: I cant really imagine the face of that bakery girl, seeing u, 2 quite skinny girls getting all that food!! 😄😄😄

    • @athenswives

Hi!😃 Yes, the girl at the bakery was laughing😅 But it was a delicious breakfast🥰 Aaah, okey so it was just a λουκανικόπιτα? Thank you so much and thanks for watching💙🇬🇷

In Byzantine times, thieves, rapists and generally those who committed serious illegalities, it was an unwritten law for them to be ridiculed in the market / square by the population before going to prison. The most common insult from the citizens to them, was to take dirt or mud from the ground and spread it on the face of the illegal person. This movement - with the hand open - was called "moutzourema" and later "moutzoma". The criminal himself was called "moutzouremenos / blurry".
This movement, that is, showing the other your open palm, has exactly the same meaning today - without the mud. It was and remains a serious insult to the Greeks, but among friends it is considered a joke.
