- I review the Lauren by Ralph Lauren Keaton Shopper Tote Bag in the size small for you. This shopper tote retails for nearly 200€ and is made out of PU leather - I was quite surprised, when I realized the RRL Keaton Tote Bag is not made out of real leather. I’m loving that you covered a Ralph Lauren bag for something different! I agree with you on the impact of the diffusion lines. I have family members who adore them, but I find the quality to really be lacking. I’d rather own a Dooney & Bourke bag for the price point, to be honest … I have several of those in my collection and they’re beautiful and long wearing. ❤

There are WORLDs in-between the quality of this Ralph Lauren Shopper and the Dooney & Bourke Florentine bag I just recently bought
Thank you for this review. I thought about this tote for the longest time. Years. Eventually got the Longchamp City large tote in coated canvas. It’s so durable, wears like a dream. Just need to be gentle with the zipper. It’s only a fraction more in cost. I’ll keep buying it as I need to.
Glad my video was helpful to you! The Nylon version of the Keaton bag might be a better option though than my bag - unfortunately I can just speak in depth on the fake leather one.
I’m sure the nylon would have been a better option. Personally, I’d rather have coated canvas or a cheaper leather bag than PU leather, which flakes. So sorry for your disappointment. I have quite a few Lauren Ralph Lauren bags in leather, and they are very nice and have worn very well.
I wish I went for the nylon version, cause I would be very curious to see, how the Ralph Lauren nylon wears (compared to the Longchamp Le Pliage bags for example). I'm with you, I hate PU leather and usually avoid it these days - but this time I only realized it's not real leather, when I already had that bag 😅🙈 - I bet it would be much greater, if it was a real leather tote!
Ralph Lauren modeled his products on the aristocratic UK/European aesthetic. So no surprise that that is what it reminds us of! Thank you for the video! I loathe fake leather.
He did a great job on building a name for that aesthetic! I'm with you on fake leather, I avoid it, whenever I can (unfortunately I only realized this bag isn't real leather, when I already had it for a while - I just thought Ralph Lauren puts out high quality leather bags, but didn't consider there are lesser quality diffusion lines 🙈)

This is why I don’t like PU bags. It can be a little bit hit or miss in terms of quality.❤
I wouldn't have bought it, if I would have noticed it's PU right away 🙈 - even the ones that look good at first, will have problems long terms...

PU wears horribly. I have a Telfar bag and just after a few months, some places have the same wear. Yes, leather will also scratch and scuff, but it will not look as bad.
I'm going to say the price is like this so people can just keep buying new ones, like a throwaway bag. Which is not good if you keep contributing more plastic to the landfill 😟
Sorry to read about your Telfar experience! I agree, PU bags are just made to enjoy for a season or two, they are not made to stand the test of time - that's why I try to stay away from PU, I want my bags to look good for a long time (and if I don't enjoy them anymore, I will be able to sell them on and have somebody else keep using them). Unfortunately I did not really notice this bag is PU, when I bought it, just when I already had it... I thought Ralph Lauren uses good material and is high quality, but did not have all the diffusion lines in mind
I think with 170€ there shouldn't be this kind of corner wear after a few months no mater what material it is. Good warning for the rest of us! :DD
I agree: I would except that kind of wear on a really cheap bag, not a branded one for nearly 200€. Shows once again, that just because something is branded, does not necessarily say it’s better quality!
Miese Qualität... für eine ähnliche Tasche für jeden Tag (aber aus Echtleder) würde ich dir Liebeskind oder Coccinelle empfehlen.
Ich bin richtig enttäuscht (und überrascht) von der Qualität 😲. Mit Coccinelle habe ich noch nicht so viel Erfahrung, aber meine Liebeskind Taschen sind wirklich sehr robust und praktisch 👌
I think that corner wear is too much. Not good. Thanks for the video. And 170 euro is a lot. I do love me a shopper tote. Yeah sell it at the flea market

Thank you - I thought a more plain bag might be a good choice for work - but this quality really surprised me in a bad way! Definitely not going to buy another Ralph Lauren PU bag (or probably: any PU bag at all!)
