- Most people toss away their hyacinths after they finish blooming in the holiday season thinking that it's never going to bloom again. That's a myth. You can plant it in soil and enjoy their blooms year after year.

Thank you for the tips from growing in water to planting in well composted soil containers!
You are welcome!
Great video. I just picked up those exact same hyacinths, good to know that I can keep them once they're done blooming!
Thank you 🙏🌷💝! I've got them as a gift, too, and didn't know what to do after the flowers were spent. Didn't want to throw the bulbs away, and this video gave the perfect instructions. Thank you so much!
Mine just finished blooming, the one I transplanted from water to soil
100% agreed don’t waste the bulbs people. Replant for next year. Great stuff 👍🏼
Thank you for such a great video! This is my first time with hyacinths and I just potted them. Thank you! 💗
Thanks Ruchi, I’ve sent your video to my mom who was wondering what to do next with them.
Great
Hi, my cat just got to my hyacinth and it was bloomed and still in a vase with only water. I'm wondering if there's anything at all I can do to save it. It broke right about where you're cutting them in the video. Should I plant the bulb in soil and hope it will regrow the flowers next year?
Yes, you can plant the bulb in soil
I bought some about 3 years ago, they were in bloom when I bought them and I left them in the pot I placed them, they are coming up each year but with no blooms, I do leave them out all winter, any ideas how I might be able to get them blooming again? thank you
Did you put them in soil? If yes, in spring time fertilize them with phosphorus rich fertilizer. They will bloom the following year
My hyacinth came in a pot. They've flowered & gone by. I can't find a video on how to transplant them into my outdoor flower garden.
I live in Maine & I planted Easter lilies that I got in a pot, in March, after they flowered several years ago & they come back every year, but not until about june-july. Everything is late up here due to the colder climate.
Just plant the bulbs outside in fall and they will bloom
I have had hyacinths in my yard all year round for over 20 years and they come back late winter every year.❤❤
How wonderful
Great video. After the flowers die, so I keep on watering the plant throughout the summer, or do I just let it “die” till it comes back in the spring?
Water till all the leaves die and then start watering when you the sprouts next winter
Now i know what to do when my hyacinths finished flowering .
Thanks for sharing, just what I am looking for 👍
Thanks so much. Your info was so helpful. Should I cut back the leaves once they turn yellow?
Yes
Fantastic tutorial. Thanks for sharing 😊👍
So beautiful, so elegant, just looking like a WOW!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks so much for this useful information and video!
Thanks a lot for your video! I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It's hot here almost all of the year. Is it possible to maintain Hyacinths bulbs stocking them in the fridge for while?
Yes you can.
@@EasyPeasyGardening thanks! I'm gonna try this!! ^^
Thanks I was giving this as a gift ... and was sas cuz they were turning yellow. But I see is process. 🙂 good to learn. Thank You
What did you put in the soil a little bit of.... Please
Perlite for good drainage
Thank you for your video! If I want to plant them in the ground after blooming, how deep ? i live in New Jersey where we get cold winters
3 times the size of the bulb and mulch 3 inches in winters
One the collage dies, do I cut off the yellow leafs AND the roots or what? I'm very new to this
You can cut off dead leaves and plant the bulb with roots
Thank you so much for the video. You explained it well. I'll subscribe.
Thank you.
Can you put them back in water /vase when it starts blooming again? :) I like the way they look in water
I would say that you can plant them in a small planter in soil and when they start to bloom outside, bring them in
No, they are energy depleted, it needs feed to grow, recover and bloom again.
Hello ,
It’s February here in Richmond, Tx and the bloom is done . So it gets pretty hot here in summer . Should I keep them inside the house in a dark area or in the light, thanks in advance 🙏
No leave it outside in a shaded area. The leaves need to do photosynthesis and store energy in the bulb for the next season
Thank you for the great info. Curious about the leaves. Once the blooms are done and cut off, how long do the leaves last?
A couple of months
@@EasyPeasyGardening Thank you!
I have a pink Hyacinth just like what you showed in your demo in the glass vase and I made a mistake and cut it all the way down to the bulb. So can I plant the bulb in soil. Will it grow new leaves also or did I ruin it.
It may not bloom next year but yes It will grow next year
can i just plant them straight out into my borders? I have adore having all sorts of bulbs flowers in my house over winter - paper whites, hyacinths, diffs etc. but I have nowhere to store them in pots like this? Will they come back again if planted straight out into the garden when spring comes such as now - beginning of april
Yes
If the bulbs were in the water also, can they still be saved ?
Yes
Thanks for this help because we have a hyacinth bulb that we want to save!
Yes, try it. I always try to save my plants.
Gonna do these to mine today! Thank you for all your information! Do you live in Florida?
California
These plants love at least 8 hrs sun how do u keep them indoors unless u have them under a grow light
It was given to me when it was almost blooming so keep it indoors for 2 weeks was not a problem. After that I planted it outside.
How can we stock in fridge , please make a video on it please please
very nice! love the birds
Thank you for this video 🙏
My pleasure 😊
My Hyacinths are planted in soil .After they loose there leafs should i live them in the same pot for next year?
Yes
Hello, is it possible to keep them in water? Thanks
For the whole year? Nope
Should I leave them outside if the weathers cold? Are they frost resistant?
They are frost resistant you can leave them outside
So, do you keep watering them all year? Or stop after they ‘die’?
Stop watering after the leaves die
@@EasyPeasyGardening I got a pot as a gift last 2 weeks ago, the bloomed nicely. I bought more, I love them. They have wonderful fragrance. I have them inside, I have central heating and water them a little bit every 2 days.I have this fear that I give them to much water and would ‘kill’ them. So far so good. I’m thinking to put them in a bigger pot. The ones that bloomed are now with cling film around the stems because they are bending down. After they die, that means I can put them at the basement until next year and start watering them again? Still in the pot? Thanks

@@EasyPeasyGardening Thank you
Lol... every gardener....look at the roots. 😂
?
ThAt was very helpful. Thanks
How do I keep the hyacinths in the water straight ?I got it 5 days a go,but it seems like it does not want to stay straight
You can use plastic wrap to fix their position.
@@EasyPeasyGardening How?
@@Clover67892 ask someone to hold it in the middle. Put cling wrap on one side of the container and secure it on the container using a rubber band or thread. Do the same on the other side.
Why is my plant water cloudy?
Just change the water
You are so cute!! I love this!
Thank you !
Do you put the bulb under the soil?
Yes, and they are blooming right now, second year in soil
Do you cut the leaves off after they turn yellow?
I don't
@@EasyPeasyGardening okay, thanks.
Well done thankyou
Thank you!!!!! 🙏😊
Yes, Very EASY!!! 🌞💕
Every other video I checked out was over-kill on pointless, uninformative blah, blah, blah😕
Which season you grow tuber
Winters
Can they survive in hot weather?
No. The leaves die down in summer and sprout again in fall. The bulbs will survive.
@@EasyPeasyGardening I live in the Philippines where we only have rainy and dry seasons... And the temperature here is hot from February to June which is the beginning of rainy season, what can I do for the hyacinth to survive?
@@HAZEL4YAH1 do they bloom there?
@@EasyPeasyGardening I haven't tried, it was sold online and they said it will survive in our climate... I don't really have any idea.
