Insane that it was Gaethje that got dropped in their fight. Tony never went down despite taking flush power shots over nearly 5 rounds from the hardest puncher in the division. Truly insane chin. And that was on a double weight cut, on the wrong side of 35, after having suffered that catastrophic knee injury and severe mental breakdown.

First kickboxing match is for many people a robbery, second fight Alex got saved by the ref when he was wobbling, first mma fight he got saved by the bell, and in the last fight Izzy got that exact same shot but earlier and finished it.

The cutman for Periera, Xiaonan and Jiri was not using smelling salts, but rather acupressure right below the nose above the lip (on the philtrum or "DU26"). It is a very sensitive spot known to wake someone up quickly if they are out. All you do is apply pressure with your finger or knuckle there for a bit and the nervous system interprets this as "noxious stimuli" and it should wake the person up... or you could try it on yourself if you are feeling kinda tired.
Finally, a definitive answer. I deduced from seeing it in a few fights that it's something the corner do when fighters are rocked to help bring them back, but I couldn't figure out what they were actually doing. Thank you so much my friend.

The Alex Pereira story timeline would be completely different had he not been saved by the bell (and the ref in their second kickboxing match).

I've been saying it on other vids in general, but I was somebody, anybody, in Jiri's corner or close to him would've said don't take the fight right now, that he even still had holes in the Rakic fight
Jiri is the T Ferg of the heavier weight classes in my view, I was not sold on Jiri due to lack of focus on the fundamentals just like TF while at the highest levels it makes such a big difference between consistent winners and losers.
