I don't know how Fragmentation Shards works here, but in wc3 it's like pulverize for taurens. I mean there can be no talk about mortar teams without explosive Fragmentation Shards, and damage figures without this upgrade do not characterize anything.
I always felt like if you move from A to B and back the most efficient way would be to turn back in the opposite clock way you faced the path when you turned. But the patrol function the builder keeps turning in the same direction making him rotate a totall of 360 degree in each patrol. So, idk
Didn't even know WC3 had direct strike - it's pretty fun, some minor gripes/qol about it that SC2 does better. 1. In SC2, you can select and manually cast/target, enable/disable autocast on your units abilities, mid combat. Everything but movement basically. Instead of using the Ability A.I to try to micro. 2. The games (atleast the ones im usually in) go by way too fast for the fun to happen, in SC2, each Commander (think.. race?) Has different options for bunkers/towers that you place around your tower, or even homebase - that respawn when your army gets sent - this helps slow down the games and allow for THE FUN. 3. The AI in WC3 is so weird - Heroes sometimes ignore each other, aggro/targeting when ur army is hitting base/tower feels very off, and things like you've already pointed out, Lightning shield always targeting the very front unit that usually dies instantly anyway etcetc. But the game's fun, i like it. If you ever decide to try the SC2 version i'd be down for some light (or heavy) coaching to get you going. There are like.. 15? ish~ Commanders (think races), all with different units/heroes/towers. Love the content also keep it up Grubbster.
Plus, lastly - i'm sorry i have to do you dirty like this, but it HAS to be said. Starcraft 2's music is lightyears better than WC3's, like - its not even close.
man you played thinker and didn't even max out rockets + the. passive. It's absolutely insane, he stuns like half the army of your opponent each time, plus deals about 1/3 or more hp to casters

I second the Castle Fight recommendation. It's both more micro and macro intensive, so not as much a pure auto battler, team strategies are also more crucial. But the map is quite old and I thought no one is playing it anymore?
Castle Fight is very similar, but there is no micro in castle fight. It's all auto battle with building placement to control spawn points. Also there is no hero aspect, your production buildings can be destroyed, and there are buildings that cast spells globally. Difference game for sure, but similar in the auto battle aspect.
@@BigSadSky Versions I've played have auto-casting magic missile staves that you can buy and micro your worker around to aim them at units, but that was really old so I can't vouch for the recent ones.
@@Voicelet yea I played the same one (2008-2012). I wouldn't really consider that micro since you are only controlling one unit and the wand passively auto targets what enemy is closest to it.
what I found frustrating about that game is that people would edit it and make cheap safe spots for mice and then whoever was hosting it would know that, and then they'd only play mice or the different versions, some where it really favoured the mice, some versions where the anti cat units the mice could make were overpowered generally speaking people didn't want to play cats and it could be fun playing as cat, but the game had to be balanced right, at least to make it competitive sometimes in some versions the mice would get so far ahead and established, and it's so much work to destroy a base, and then they escape to the next base, and sometimes it's impossible to defend the jail and be aggressive but it can be a huge momentum swing when one mouse has so many bases, so much invested, and they make a sloppy attempt to save other mice, and then like 3/4 of the maps worth of bases are gone
@@nilamelody rumour has it blizzard is working on their own version... But it will get scrapped before it's finished because some how a developer team of 5 people beat them to the punch and made a better game. I made all this up, but I could 100% see it happening lol.

Best custom maps are Risk reforged, Dota, Direct strike Legion td, Survival chaos

Castle Fight has more variety and is more fun imo, but it doesn't have the hero aspect which is lame.
Castle Fight is so much better than Direct Strike. I have no idea how Direct Strike even got popular.
