Great beginner guide. Running my first track day with Trackmasters there next weekend. I've run multiple days at Laguna and both east and the five mile at Thunderhill, so finally ready to give Sonoma a try. Run it on the simulator a bunch of times then have done some ride-a-longs so familiar with the layout but still going to take it really really easy and slowly work up.
Another good video! Nice narration to go along with it. Calling out the turn numbers is helping me prepare for my track day. The only thing you could add is calling out the flag stations.
Sears point raceway was my account with frontier communications out of Sacramento 1995-97. My brother raced porches 911,went to monterrey, laguna Seca with the porche club,as he raced porces at daytona beach,fl
I did Sonoma first time on a track. First lap turn 8 scared the shit out of me. After that it was pretty much flat out in a Dinan Supercharged E36 M3. The only other scare was turn 11 passing multiple cars going into that turn the car almost understeered into the wall. Years later I don't know if I can drive like that on the track.
It's good practice to lightly left foot tap your brakes before a major braking zone to ensure your brakes are ready to go. Here's a video explaining it: ua-cam.com/video/PgYNeEVNbTs/v-deo.html
Your intro videos have been a big help for me, thanks for taking the time to make and share these.

good info thanks! I will be there on monday!
Good work I’m all in
Glad you made a video for noobies at this track. I am use to going to Streets of Willow and Buttonwillow only, much smaller tracks.

Great video vary knowledgeable
Several of my drivers have debuted at Sonoma without incident. It's similar in technique to our home track - The Ridge in Washington.
Great guide. If I ever make a circuit of CA i'll be sure to check this out again.
Thanks! Sonoma and Laguna Seca are amazing NorCal tracks!
Nice video!
Awesome video!
Thanks Mahdi!

Thanks Patrik!
How can I track my car there?
What’s the point of it being called 3a and 8a why can’t it just be turn 4 and 9?
Why would you need to sit the brake pistons before a turn?
