Just came here to say that! I tried it for the first time about 10 years ago, and it works wonders. You can buy the cheapest vodka you can possibly find, and after running it through the filter 3x, you cannot tell the difference between it and a super premium vodka.
The price difference between bad and good vodka would be eaten by the cost of a replacement filter and the effort of doing the filtering yourself. Stop cosplaying a homesteader and just spend the extra $12.

The reason we notice such a big difference between real bananas and fake banana flavor is the banana variety we have now isn't what the fake flavor is based on. Modern grocery store bananas are almost always Cavendish bananas. The bananas the fake flavor is based on are Gros Michel bananas. A soil fungus pretty much wiped them out in the 1950s.
@@choccolocco Isoamyl acetate is the chemical used for cheap banana flavoring. It is also present in real bananas along with other flavorings. This ester has a higher concentration in the nearly extinct Gros Michel banana. So, the bananas of the 1950s tasted more like banana flavoring.

Dear Try Team, Thanks so much for this video. I’m not really a fan of vodka, however I love tamarind. A few weeks after watching this video, I decided to try a local store to purchase a bottle. They didn’t have it, so off I went to a provincial store (I live in Canada). Not luck there either. They even searched to see if any other store in the province had it in stock, but alas, I was SOL. Went to the Smirnoff page and checked to see where I could possibly purchase a bloody bottle. Just my luck, only in the US. Called the closest store and they did have bottles in stock. I spent almost 3 hours round trip to buy a bottle. Some lovely Sheriff Deputies answered my call for directions (not to worry, they were on a coffee break), and off I went to buy this bottle that I prayed would taste amazing. I’m not sure you understand the somewhat embarrassment I felt when answering why I was entering their country and then on the way back, what I was doing in my short stay in the US. Needless to say, all border crossing guards were pretty understanding about my situation. I finally got a chance to try this Spicy Tamarind Vodka and I must admit that my taste buds are a little confused. It’s got the right amount of kick and sweetness that I would expect, yet at the same time, a weird almost watermelon aftertaste.
