THIS! Use a separate filter for alcohol though, don't use it for water after lol cause the taste will stick around. But putting cheap to mid tier vodkas through a filter a few times can turn them into suuuuuuuuuper smooth drinks.
Just came here to say that! I tried it for the first time about 10 years ago, and it works wonders. You can buy the cheapest vodka you can possibly find, and after running it through the filter 3x, you cannot tell the difference between it and a super premium vodka.
The price difference between bad and good vodka would be eaten by the cost of a replacement filter and the effort of doing the filtering yourself. Stop cosplaying a homesteader and just spend the extra $12.
I literally had some spicy tamarind smirinof with a few cubes of ice tonight! Favorite flavor for me, but then again I LOVE candy from Mexico with the same flavor.

The spicy tamarind is my absolute favorite vodka I have ever found. I would make palomas (literally just that vodka with squirt-grapefruit soda & lime) & a Tajin rim. I drank that for as long as my local store kept that vodka stocked. I was so sad when I couldn't find it anymore. I may have to order it online now.
The handful of vodka I like enough to have on tap are all palatable at room temp. If you need to blast freeze you're spirit to down it that's not a great sign imo. Also you absolutely stir vodka martini if following standard mixology protocol. There's a reason you have to specify shaken not stirred.
