I can't explain how much I love this movie. It makes me so happy, sad and every other emotion at the same time. People don't understand me and think it's boring, strange or exaggerated. I think it's so beautiful... 💚
I would advise you to watch the first version with Mia Farrow and Robert Redford (1974). This version is one of the classics. In this first version felt more intensely the passionate love between it's two people... This couple really exudes passionate love... Mia Farrow and Robert Redford are both very beautiful and emotionally perfect in this film... I consider this film to be one of the best love films, so, sad at the same time... Hard not to cry when are touched and sensitive to it's emotions. I found that the remake lacked a lot of it's aspects. Best regards to you.
@@louis-philippesmith335 I've seen it. With respect, while it is closer to the book, the remake brings a whole new energy that gives it new life and shows the beauty and ugly sides of the story. The greed, the love, the wonder, everything. This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and a movie that changed my life, along with the book as well.
@@davidcastillo6910 i see the Great Gatsby as a story about excess and Baz's filmaking reflects that, not only the cinematography but also the sound design and the storytelling
My favourite film of all time. The 20’s setting, the idea of the American dream, the fashion the glitter and glamour hiding the dirty, shameful backgrounds. The cinematography, the fireworks, the hidden meanings. The music, the masterpiece that is Lana Del Reys Young and Beautiful that perfectly highlights the beauty of the film but also the melancholic shadows, how a man who had everything felt incomplete without this one woman who eventually led to his death. The incredible acting embodying the characters so flawlessly. Its perfection
Just read the book for class and decided to watch the movie. SO beautiful. The production was great and grand but it just fit together and never looked tacky or overdone
As I recall this was the 4th Great Gatsby movie, and they even did a Broadway Musical of it; but I think this movie captured the spirit of the book the most of all of them. At first, I really didn't like some of the style of it, like mixing in some of the hip-hop music with the old jazz. But then I realized that they guys who were really successful in hip-hop are like modern Jay Gatsby's. I think if F. Scott Fitzgerald got to see this movie from the great beyond, he'd be proud.
This movie was one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen. It's cinematography was brilliant. It is underrated just like your channel and this video.
I watched this in English class so I wasn’t able to appreciate the cinematography til I saw this… wow this is beautiful and you chose the best song off the soundtrack as well. Beautiful.
I actually cried, this is this first time I ever cried tears at the beauty of a piece of art. There is this girl. She is the pretties girl in her city. I’ve only met her twice but when we meet, its like we are absolute equals. I would walk the deserts of the earth to make her proud, sail the 7 seas just to make her recognize the man I am. I know she is the one dude and she hardly knows I exist.
this is one of example when movie was better than book you really can fall in love in everything cinematography music Gatsby and friendship between him and Nick
This just came up in my feed today, and I forget that I had seen it before and even commented. When I first saw this movie, I had a tough time with the style, mixing the hip-hop in with the 1920s music and so on, and just the over the top colors and visuals and having an Indian actor play Meyer Wolfsheim. When I saw that scene with the black guys and girls being driven by a white driver in the convertible, I thought that Baz was just trolling everyone. But that specific scene is actually in the book, written exactly that way and I had forgotten that. NOW, I think this is the movie version that holds closest to the spirit and text, literally, of the book written about 100 years ago, now.
I don't why I love this story so much that I get back to it every year, The Novel , The Film and The song. Why is pain and tragedy more beautiful than happiness and cherry grant that it makes us visit it every year. Sadly the only reference this generation knows to this is the Leonardo DiCaprio Glass raising meme, they would never know the beauty of Fitzgerald, Gatsby, DiCaprio, Maguire, DelRay. Why past is so beautiful that it needs to be repeated.
