Craig Revel Horwood also brought in an iconic piece of West End history from Sunset Boulevard and The Teddy Bear Ladies were on hand to help transform Norman to his former glory 🎭

I've never heard Dame Judi talking about her deceased husband before. You can see that even after 20 years she still thinks of him... which is both sad and wonderful.
Give Louis Theroux's interview with Dame Judi a watch. Absolutely lovely, but she talks about her late husband in that and gets quite emotional.
I just watched the interview with Louis Theroux in the BBC where she talks of the death of her husband. A beautiful marriage.
My grandmother is 82 now and lost her husband in 1994 which was my grandfather and she still talks about him and has never even dated another man. Time is insane imagine every human life that's ever existed on this planet throughout history and every day they spent alive it's insane
I still talk about my mother, father, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins, it’s my way that I don’t forget about them and what they looked like. Respects
You can tell she loves her memories too. Her husband was a handsome chap.
I was especially touched when she said "It would be lovely if it worked and I could hear it again." Dame Judi has macular degeneration and now requires scripts to be read to her, but would be so happy to hear the watch again. ❤ Truly a national treasure.
My mother had malacular degeneration, for a lady who was so outgoing to be struck down with the gradual onset of blindness is so sad, never saw her grandchildren and never saw myself and brothers get older. RNIB only charity we give to.
Judy Dench one of a handful of people who I would be genuinely star struck by.
I could listen to Dame Judi speak all day.
Love that Dame Judi is so down to earth and that the team treated her so normally. Also not many superstar artists take marriage so seriously or as heartfelt as Dame Judi does. Wonderful that the team could get the watch working again and bring the memories and joy of her late husband’s life back to her! ❤
Hello Cyannah, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I felt that Jay was pushing her in an attempt at getting an emotional response from her.
I just love her. What a magnificent lady.
I honestly thought this going to
be a Tracey A bit. I can not tell the difference anymore🤣😂
Hello Candy, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
You have to admire the skill of the team at the repair shop
I marvel at the intricacies of watch repair. My late uncle did watch repair yet his main line of work was driving huge long Caterpillar tractors at a distinct slanted angle, moving huge mounds of earth and rock. Both required exquisite precision.
What a moving moment to see Judi taking care of an object which brings her absolutely gorgeous moments lived with husband Michael. Great woman, superb actress. And a very good professional repairing clocks!!!!!
i just adore judi dench, she is my favorite actor in the world, i have seen every movie she has made and long for more. she is brillant and no one else like her and no one could replace her. long live Dame Judi Dench.
Hello Denise, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
For those wanting to see the bit when she actually gets the watch back. There's a link in the description to another video from the Edinburgh TV Festival where the reveal takes place live on stage. Together with Craig Revel Horwood, who also submitted an item for a brilliant repair.
Thank you for posting this!
I love this Just wonderful. Xxxxx she speaks so well Xxxx❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧
Thank you so much.
Thank you!!!
thanks for the heads up!
Loved Michael Williams, he was such a wonderful actor. Loved them together in a fine romance, first time I saw Judi Dench, perfect part for her. You can tell in her voice how much she still misses him, lovely that they can fix this momento of their time together
One of my favorite historical dramas to watch is Elizabeth R, and he was spectacular in it!
For those who may have never seen this show, I highly recommend it!
Each and every one of these wonderful people are incredible artisans whose talents are astounding.
A true pleasure to watch.
Met Dame Judi whilst working in a Hotel in London....such a great person.
Time is fleeting for all, a timepiece is timeless.
Dame Dench, thank you for sharing this restoration of an amazing heirloom!
Wonderful Lady with a lovely voice could listen to her all day xxx
How absolutely lovely. Thank you.
Theres some powerful emotion right there. much love to a national treasure x
Hello Maisie, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
What a British legend 💯❤️
Spock aka Leonard Nimoy said a few days before he died “A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but only preserved in memory.” At the end of the days with people we love, that’s what we’re left with. As she stood there silently, she was replaying her memories, and remembering. I can’t tell you how devastating it is to be a widow. And to be one after having a great marriage is very sad. She is a treasure. ❤️
oh this made me get all sentimental. so beautiful to see the memories flood in to her. Bravo.
A treasure of a national treasure
A national treasure of national.
It's terribly sad when one half of a love-of-my-life relationship dies...especially when it is well before time. I remember Michael Williams on British TV...humble, low key, but very talented.
Oh gosh. I almost cried as she spoke about her husband.
I am crying!
So did she. Lovely lady.
BEAUTIFUL… Judy Dench is an amazing beautiful woman… natural, genuine and speaks from the heart. One of a kind.
There is something special about Dame Judi Dench a real star
I have my Dad's old Omega Seamaster watch and his Navy pilot's watch but can't find anyone to repair them. She was lucky to find you.
Love this show. Hope it continues to be streamed.
I wish it show them giving it back to Judi Dench. I would have love to see that part.
Hello Karen, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
You guys did a great job making that woman feel happy again
I just absolutely love her! Such a premier actress of the first order!
I was at the brink of tears while listening to her talking about her husband
I walk past Steve's shop every day on the way to the bus stop it was nice to see inside it.
I love The Repair Shop, but since Netflix discontinued it, I’ve not been able to find it. Always fascinating to see the skill of all the members!
It’s on bbc iplayer!
@@adeallapashtica9003 bbc iplayer is only available in the UK. Thanks, though.
It's on Discovery and BBC2
I’ve never seen it on Netflix. In Denmark we are years and years behind, we have a danish version that sucks.
@@Saartje05 Discovery+ is a subscription streaming service, and BBC2 is not available in America. Thanks, though.
I just love Dame Judi Dench. Wonderful actress. No one can hold a candle to her. And she has a wicked sense of humor. I do though hate to see how much she's slowed down recently. I like to think of Judi as the Helen Hayes of British acting.
Hello Nancy, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Hello
What a nice program you have here
I have repaired a few pocket watches over the years with this kind of escapement and i have noticed that its amplitude is quite lower than a swiss or straight lever escapement even with a new mainspring its always a Challenge
And i have always wondered how they managed to make such a fiddly escapewheel back in the day
But as i Said nice program i will be back for more, for sure 👍🏻😃
Ps i have just bought an old watchmakers parts collection with everything from screws in all sizes and parts for everything from pocketwatches to mantelclocks alarm clocks wristwatches, fusee pocketwatch parts and even repeater parts im not even close to getting a owerwiew of things in all the shelfs, so if you need anything just say so and i will see if its in a shelf somewhere
Have a nice day
Allan from Denmark
From across the pond, I can now better appreciate the cleaning performed on my late fathers "Railroad Watch" circa 1925. Thanks for letting us view "both" gems. Narragansett Bay
This was at once: instructive (watch fixing), show bizzy (seeing Dame Judi), and touching (hearing a loving widow speak of her late husband, whom she dearly loved.)..
Hello Cynthia, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
The three rampant bears (one small above two large) inside the silver case indicate it was made in Switzerland before 1907, for export to the UK. In 1907 the UK law was changed so that imported silver watch cases had to be assayed and marked in the UK, with an import stamp and a date stamp. The movement is also Swiss, almost certainly by Fontainemelon, who did not often mark their movements, or did so in hidden places. I have a very similar watch myself.
Love this lady. The Boss of 007 James Bond !
God bless you. Hero for getting this working for Dame Judi.
Hello Judy, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
How marvelous! You did it!❤
Amazing! I'm an amateur horologist. I can appreciate her love.
Dame judi a lovely lady you can see how much this watch means. To her
I clicked on your video because I thought it was Tracy Ullman doing a Judy Dench impersonation. It was so much more. Thank you.
Ha! That’s good. 😊
@Robert Vance And all along it was Dame Judy Dench impersonating herself, lol....
Isn’t she just the loveliest lady. ❤️
You could tell she went to another place when the watch was in her hand.
Really miss the Repair Shop in the US. It's not available anywhere. :( Miss you guys.
Reportedly Discovery will show it beginning 12/24, but don’t quote me on it.
@@svenska81 Is that December 24th of this year or December 2024?
Steve will be the death of me. Every time I see him at work. I forget to breath So beautiful xxx
Hello Lesley, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I love this talented woman and she reminds me of my best beloved friend Shelley
Hello Joanette, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Love Dame Judi. I would love to get an autograph photo. ❤
Love Judy Dench 🇬🇧👍
I love her! One of my favorite actors. ❤
I simply adore the Repair Shop!! I'm so glad Amazon is carrying it now because I canceled Netflix! Thank you Steve?!? 🤣❤️💕💕💕💙💙💜💜
Hello Linda, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Absolutely admire Mrs Dench , love all her work 🌹
My father in law was a watched repair also, he love the unique tiny details ⏱⏰🕰🎛
Hello Teresa, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
No little about her but she is a gem of a timepiece
A family connection of mine met Judi Dench and her husband at a wedding. They purposely stepped back so that their fame did not unbalance the newly weds couple's day. What was noticed was simply that Judi and Michael were attentive to each other and also kind to everyone.
Wonderful ,amazing people so clever so talented ,love this programme. Xx
That photo of them together, is just precious.
That is a cylinder watch movement. The balance is not compensated so it can and will gain or lose time depending on the weather.
You are a great actress and a great wife and mother
Hello Beryl, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I had a strange dream, i saw a film that Judy Dench did not appear in, but then I woke up.
Hello Reggie, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Brilliant pocket watch, as long it keeps service and looked after, it can last many generation in the future.
Question for Steve , if that's permitted . You doubled up your eye-wear for better magnification , does that effect or blur your site after prolonged use ? The best I found are X 2.0 clip-ons , but after an hour or two my normal vision goes wonky for a bit . I'm just curious , great video , this one .
I love that Steve gets these jobs. Both Dame Judi and the King? Love it! I'm sure he did their watch and clock proud!
... Oh my! It’s like a totally different watch now...!
I love judy dench. Such a fantastic actress
What streaming app is this show airing? I found it once but forgot which it is. I loved this show because of educational and every story behind the repairs. Is there any new seasons?
Hello Elizabeth, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus?
She is one of the most beautiful human beings 💞
I loved this program but I'm finding the segments disappointing because we don't get to see the reveal. Eg, marking them part 1,2,3. I live in Canada and don't get the show.
Oh, I so agree!!
One suggestion if you can make a tray with velvet fabric on it to keep such precious items on it instead of keeping it on the table it would be respectful for the clients . Thanks
One iconic lady .
I love this Lady.
M.
Good to see you Mum!!!
Just amazed at you handle all really tiny screws. I spent time in the past tightneing tractor wheel nuts, it involved every muscle you had. I'm so fascinated by the other opposite end the the scale. Steve, how do you know when small screws in watches etc. are appropriately tight?? You must have a 6th sense torque wrench in your fingers. Martin.
Loved the first part but cannot find the 2nd part
There's a link in the description to another video where you can see the reveal
I love Dame Judi Dench. I would have liked to see her reaction.
Hello Cheryl, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus???
Will this be transmitted on bbc1??
These are great sendups of "The Repair Shop". They ARE just spoofing aren't they? ❤
Well, that was beautiful!
I think this may be one of the most British things I have watched yet
When do we see her collect watch?
There's a link in the description to another video where you can see the reveal
beautiful pocket watch
love this show!
Great show.
Hello Kate, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I love Dame Judy….
Nice to see and hear 🙏
As a timepiece amateur collector what brand of watch?
Is very precious shop now rare Engineering can do this jobs thank for reserved it
Best performance as always Tracey
If I had a broken watch and I lived near.Steve.. I'm gonna find him like dame Judy did.
This is the greatest tv program going better than all the reality rubbish we get
Also what a lady class she's wonderful
must be an honor for you to work on the watch
What series does this episode appear?
I wish they'd add the episode this was.
I once heard that Judi Dench auditioned for the part of Donatello in the Ninja Turtles live show, but sadly was passed over for the part.
Where is the ending?
Did she play a part here or was it really her story ?
It was her real story.... 😉
@@bwenluck9812 Thanks to have replied to my question 🤗 I'm French so we don't have this show here 😏
@@lechatouinello Amelie, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Shame the finished piece and returning it was not included. Felt like the video finishes at half time.
2:53 The hallmarks of 0.935 and three rampant bears means that it was was made in Switzerland between 1888 and 1914. Nice watch.
I believe it's 0.938 and the numbers refer to the silver purity the watch case is made from.
@@dougms9790 It's a 5. 0.938 fineness is not a thing. 0.935 fineness is a standard adopted by the Swiss export market. It is a slightly higher standard than sterling silver's 0.925 to add a margin of error and ensure that all items sent to the UK would meet the minimum legal requirement for sterling.
To repair a treasured item can be close to therapy.
Hello Vernelle, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
Well it’s older than 1971 that’s for sure
