The World’s Most Expensive Painting by a Female Artist? I Behind the Masterpiece

- Опубліковано 24 тра 2024
- This beautiful painting "Jimson Weed/White Flower No.1" by Georgia O’Keeffe was sold for $44.4 million in 2014, a value that is 90% less than the most expensive painting sold by a male artist. This masterpiece is a poetic depiction of a magnified flower; the brushstrokes appear as if they are in dance, the use of a minimal color palette is brilliant, and the canvas, has a harmonious rhythm.

I've had the fortune to see most of the works shown here in person. Her works may look simple but they're everything but that. She was a true master. ❤
I have one of O'Keeffe's Jimson Weed series in my office. I look to it every morning to wake up my spirit.
Great video!
Çok teşekkürler.
I have that jimson weed hanging above my bed right now...
Wonderful video! Your channel deserves more followers ❤
Thank you so much! 🙌
Blessed
That was my second guess. I thought it was Louise Bourgeois' Spider which sold for 32m back in 2019. Would love to see a top 10 most expensive art pieces created by women!
That’s a great guess! Also fantastic suggestion 🙏
O'keeffe is nowhere near the talents of Carrington, Kahlo, Varos, amongst other better female painters. Without a doubt talent does not matter in today's art world.
