I love nonsensical TF2 lore. For example Demoman will get severe food poisoning if you give him anything except alcohol.

Fun fact : the reason why Meet the Demoman was censored (at least in universe) is not because the Demoman was swearing, it's because the Scottish government doesn't want anyone to talk about the Loch Ness Monster
Edit, more fun fact : it's revealed in the Meet the Director (a TF2 comic, yes there are TF2 comics, you should read them) it's revealed that the reason as to why we never see a meet the BLU team (except the fan made one) is because Mrs. Pauling killed the guy who recorded the Meet the Team video (a.k.a the director) before he can go to the BLU team.
Also even more fun facts : the Soldier is conically married to Heavy's Sister and they have fought robots while nakend and covered in honey, the TF2 comics is a strange place

You can't forget one of my favorite parts, Medic has canonically stole the souls of his teammates to bargain with the devil himself.
As an Engineer Main, I resent your comments about Engineer plays... A good Engineer also goes wild shooting people with the Widowmaker or the Frontier Justice.
He also has unmountable stress dealing with spies, soldiers and demoman ruining his day.

Detail in Meet the Spy: At the start, the Scout gets hurt flipping the knife. But he gets hurt with the dull side of it, cuz getting hurt would dispel the disguise.
But it doesn't get rid of the disguise when you get hit in game. its only attacking and dying that get rid of the disguise.
Getting hurt doesn't dispel disguises, if it did then Spy would be way worse than he already is lol
Well, technically he would be attacking himself, which would dispel his disguise, cuz he technically made an attack
Attacking a Spy will not remove his disguise
When you kill a spy in disguise, that's when the disguise comes off

You should probably check out “The complete history of the TF2 team” by SquirmJim. Since you are unfamiliar with the back stories of the Mercs, it would be an interesting way to see how unhinged they really are.

Two interesting things about Meet the Medic, is that they changed the design of the medigun to the one used today (the old model was used for the Quick Fix, and there is an item thats a Beta version of the QF). The second, is every so often, when a scout dies, archimedes will fly out, free of his smelly, gooey prison.

Interesting fact at 4:28 they actually considered the same idea for the original Borderlands game but it tested poorly as just another CoD style game. Instead they went with the cell shaded look and did SO much better.
Heavy: Normally, Heavy doesn't really have any respect for anyone else, including his own teammates. Whether facing enemies on the field or seeing replacements joining his own Team, he complains "They're sending me babies!" Even in his video Heavy yells out "Waaahh! Cry some more!" as he's mowing down people with Sasha. As Heavy's video was the first one of the team vids Valve released, he really had not met anyone who could outsmart a bullet...Until Medic figured out how to do the Ubercharge. Medic is the one who did indeed outsmart the bullet (& rockets too).
Sandvich: Not really about the sandvich itself, per se, The Winglet has a series of videos under the overall title of "Meet The Items." They're well worth the watch.
Sniper: He's not really Australian...He's a Kiwi (born in New Zealand even though he was raised in Australia). The story behind that is in the TF2 comics at their official website.
I see that you know something about the Jarate...You might want to watch the "Meet The Items" series of videos made by The Winglet. And if that's not enough, there's also "The JarateThon" done by Master Rhino...Yes, it's about as cringe as it might sound.
Engineer: Texan-born & raised, eleven PhD's, & totally amoral other than absolute adherence to engineering contracts he gets into. His entire family are all engineers & were contracted to build & maintain those Australium-powered life extension devices being worn by the Mann brothers (all three of them) & the Administrator.
Scout: The youngest of eight brothers raised "on the wrong side of the tracks" in Boston, Jeremy wanted to join his siblings in the fights that they would always be getting into...But being the youngest, he would always arrive last & never got any of the fun. So he learned how to outrun his brothers & be the first to be mixing it up. His dad really is the Spy but he believes that his dad is Tom Jones (yes, *that* Tom Jones). You need to read the TF2 comics to get the full context of that. It's also established in the comics that Scout's narcissism is based on the fact that he really *IS* God's Gift to womankind on Earth.
Demoman: He doesn't need food; he gets all of his nutrients via his "liquid diet." At some point, his body shifted its metabolism so that his "Scrumpy" is all he needs & his bone marrow produces a low-level of alcohol so that he's got a constant feed of it into his bloodstream. Indeed, in the TF2 comics he was being held prisoner & they didn't let him have any booze...But when they gave him actual solid food his stomach reacted as if he was poisoned.
Soldier: His real name being Jane Doe, he was so patriotic that he wanted to join the military to fight in WW2 but he was roundly rejected due to "mental issues." So he jumped on a plane, went to Germany, & conducted his own war...But this was *after* the war was ended, so what he really did counted as attempted genocide on German civilians. The only reason he works with any of his foreigner teammates at all is because he was told that they're all American either by birth or Naturalization; In game scenarios where Red & Blue Teams are working co-op, Soldier automatically considers them to be American, regardless of being on the other Team. BTW, there's a reason why Soldier is mentally slower than the other mercenaries...Soldier has been drinking lead-infused tap water every time he's on the 2Fort map, even though the Mann Co. sends bottled water to the Teams. "Bottled what?"
Spy: You gotta admire a guy that can pull off such a masterful "Yo mama" joke & back it up with the photos. Such a coincidence that he happened to be carrying around all of those photos for so long just so that he could use them right then & there, isn't it?
Medic: If you're curious as to how the Spy's still-living, severed head wound up in Medic's fridge, check out the video (here on UA-cam) named "Meet the Medic - Outtakes." It remains in an unfinished state because that was how Valve wanted to initially present the Medic class. However, they changed their minds & we're seeing their result here. Initially, Medic was trying to come up with faster ways to heal patients so that he could spend more time experimenting...His contracted duty for the Team was to keep them healed as much as possible but he was stymied at how slowly the human body healed. The video concept was how the Medic stumbled upon many of the healing chemicals (med kits) & processes (medigun) to speed up healing & it involved the Blue Spy in the accident that triggered Medic's ideas. The Spy's severed head was the first beneficiary(?) to those medical breakthroughs & Medic still has the head.
Pyro: Has more war crimes on his record than any other mercenary on the Team. And yes, in the game you can unlock Pyrovision & see some of what Pyro sees in this video. Elsewhere on UA-cam is a 1-minute video named "There's Something Wrong With Pyro" made by Misan & (even though it's not canon) it explains why Heavy refers to him as a "thing," Scout refers to him as a "freak," & Spy ascribes Pyro as having severe "inhuman thoughts" with "sustained cruelty."
Some of the small details that were established in these videos actually show up in the game itself. For a couple of examples, when the Spy cut Sniper's cheek, it left a scar that can be seen on the Blue Sniper's face if you look close enough, & if the Scout gets blown to giblets, there's a chance you'll see Archimedes flying out of his corpse.

the reason that meet the demo was censored is that it was better to leave what he said some ambious bad thing than some mediocre reference. they wanted what he said to sound bad as it was more in character.

the thing with soldier too is that he doesn't drink the bottled water that the team is supplied and has been drinking the towns contaminated water supply which is why he is such an idiot like the rest of the town.
also the reason every "meet the" is the red team is in game lore it is propaganda to make the red team look better than blue

Engineers are disagreeing with your take on Meet the Engineer being accurate to the class. I'd say that... Either Meet the Sniper or Meet the Spy is most accurate. Though, leaning more to Sniper.
