Ayan is much better than 24 bcoz 24 has unwanted scenes like romantic and silly dialogues . Film Makers should have removed those . Without those scenes the movie would be top notch

The Director has said this is a fictional Story with historical facts and references (They deliberately did not want to use the word based on history, would be ripped apart with criticism just like PS1 & 2). This also uses the middle-age Tamil (Tamil Vatteluthu) script, so it indicates it's set 1600 years ago. Of course, you're right about the scaly things on Surya's skin (African connection with the Tamils). The English dubbing is also happening so going to be released in English as well I presume.
