- Kani shawl making is the craft of weaving and designing the shawl with needles . it takes about 4- 16 months to make a shawl from pashmina base . The weaving craft is so hard to practise . Despite all challenges the weavers face, they still weave for their passion.
The price of kani shawl depends upon the difficulty of design , variation of colours , intricate design patterns varying from 40,000 INR to 55 Lakh INR .
Mr Sajad ahmad wani alias Mr. kanihama is one among the weavers who carried on this family business .

They weave beautiful dreams on the shawls.The design, the colour, the intricacy, the detailing-spellbound.
Pray the art and the artists survive to keep this precious skill alive.
Very labour intensive. MashaAllah they are so proud of their work. Each shawl is an artwork.

Recently visited to Kanihama village.. Work of each artisan was magnificent and worthy.. And also met Mr. Kanihama Saheb, the creator of these delicacies..
