You have to check out "Love/Hate" from Eskimo Callboy. That one is on the more serious side of their work and i prefer nicos voice in that one much more. Even Kevin sounds more aggresive in there.

Thanks for posting this. I'm glad that the band 'stepped up' to help. I believe the reason "Pump It" wasn't selected for Eurovision may be that there's a higher 'scream to sing' ratio than on some of their other hits. You just can't please everybody...

      @Etschi89 2 роки тому +4

The sad thing is they applied with "Pump it" and a shorter version of "We got the moves" (the original is longer than 3 minutes). Pump it was discarded immediately (maybe to much swear words or to hard at the end) but WGTM got under the Top26. They lost because they were not radio friendly enough. The broadcaster who manages the national finale choose 7 employees of pop radio stations for their jury. They wanted to promote the songs by playing them at least once per day on each station. So they chose songs which wouldn't disrupt their programm too much. A lot of EC but also ESC Fans are protesting and they also started an online petition which has now over 120.000 signatures. You can search for it cause I can't post a link here :)

Eskimo Callboy , the masters of the fast perfect roller coaster transitions and movements
The music corresponds almost synchronously with the movements of the video in the gym
At the beginning is still warmed up and gradually higher and higher demands are placed on the body of the trainees with some rest breaks in between (pop)
Until it is then at the end when you are really warm to the very heavy weights and there trained on strength and mass
The Role models for aerobic movements and clothing in the 1980's. Hard to believe today, but that's how it was and Eskimo Callboy was more of an understatement

I just thought about your analysis of Nico's singing and how he pronounces "better". I'm not a singer and don't know, if he sings it like this on purpose, but we have a vocalised "r" (=ɐ) in German. It's mostly used with the ending "-er" in words. So we would pronounce "better" more like "betta". Maybe he is just singing English with a German accent. 😄

Oh the jury were public radio broadcasters and we call it pop waves (literally) here in Germany. They only play pop. The "hardest" one I heard there one evening on my public local radio were "Sunrise Avenue" with "Hollywood Hills" so that speaks enough I think. They have this weird reason to select songs that they will play in the week before the national final often, so the German public will be standing behind the Songs for esc (they would love to make them hits). AFAIK the German public aren't allowed to vote for their esc song in the final so that is bs.

Your reactions are fun and insightful
I love this song more each time I hear it.
On a more serious note I know you have reacted to The Ukrainian band Jinjer and recommend their song/video Home Back as its extremely relevant to the unfortunate attack on Ukraine right now.
The bass player Eugene just recently put out a video statement about the the invasion by Russia on their country. You might want to watch that for yourself. My heart goes out to the Ukranian people.
    So moved by their courage.

Yes I enjoy your channel very much.
It's very sweet that your doing what you can to help some of the refugees. It's great that much of the world is trying to help Ukraine.
I'm in Vancouver Canada and plan to donate to a trust worthy organization in support of Ukrainian refugee's. However with so much suffering my donation feels so insufficient. There's been far too much life lost and destruction.
I hope this unjustified war can been brought to an end soon.

And still amazing, that’s you, so is the band, but mainly you, and your reviews/content. Finns are awesome, like long lost brothers that we have zero hope of understanding unless they speak some English. But yeah, definitely love Finnish, like I said, really reminds, distantly to some Native American languages, like my ancestors, sadly never a written language, so it’s dying, and I can’t learn it where I am, and we’ll have to work to survive, buy a house instead of rent and throw away money. So I have to to do one or the other and lose something, a language or my future? Which do I choose? I can’t make enough to save and have retirement, buy a house and healthcare in Alaska. I can do all, but the learn the language here…so yeah, it sucks. But that’s life. So Anna, you’re my solution to that, I can do this, and have a little bit, but different of there.

    Hi Anna,
love your reactions/anna-lysis, following them since Jinjer - Pisces and finally subbed today. I love to see how you enjoy music and catch so much details in every song. Keep up the great work.
Suggestions would be sooooo many, but for Eskimo Callboy, you have to do the first song of this trilogy "Hypa Hypa" ua-cam.com/video/75Mw8r5gW8E/v-deo.html and hopefully will see more Jinjer soon. "Perennial live at Wacken open air 2019" ua-cam.com/video/bxi3i9wzQBk/v-deo.html is really good (btw. i´m living 80 km away from Wacken/Germany). I would also recommend the-one-hour-video from "Jinjer - Live at Hellfest" ua-cam.com/video/ByU5KM_ADp4/v-deo.html , if looking for other Live-Versions of Jinjer, there are Time-Stamps in the Video, to easily pick a song...
Also, if not checked yet, on the Bands Channel of Eskimo Callboy, you can find "making of videos" to some of their songs... 🤣🤭
