MY best success has been to get in great with the Alchemy bartenders from day one. They almost always meet the "criteria" you talked about for great bartenders and with tipping and being a "regular", they will often make you stuff, give you free shots and samples, and occasionally forget to run your seapass. And their drinks are all pretty heavy on the pours to begin with. Adopt an Alchemy bartender today! 😁
I like this tip i just heard. Its late at night most bars close at 1am. Your drinks renew at 6am. And you still want drink cause you might have 2 or more drinks left on your day. They suggested going to the pizza place to get canned seltzer drinks or beer drinks in cans. They come unopened. And if you wait your 5 mins at a time. You can collect a few cans of beer to take to your room.
6:30 ish. Bar edicate 101. From Wisconsin here I usually do $1 tip per drink always. If I don’t have singles on me I try to keep track of how many and like Tommy said, “drop a 10 or 20 per day” you WILL be remembered and “taken care of”. However you have to find that bartender who knows what’s up!
i had to pause the video to write this or ill forget... 'I'm the type of alcoholic that occasionally likes more than 15 drinks' LOLOLOLOLOL omg im dying. love it! back to the video now :P
I’m going in a 7 day cruise , Ive been told the cheers package doesn’t go in effect until the 2nd day. So the per day price is for 5 or 6 days? Be disembark day is in the morning?
I found out an interesting thing today on my cruise. While Holland America has the same 15 drink limit on the package as some other Carnival Corporation lines they implement it a different way. After you reach your 15 drink limit instead of cutting you off like on Carnival they just start charging you for your drinks, I like this method much better. And it is only fair after I have had $210 worth of drinks on the package for $49+gratuities for the day I will buy a couple of drinks on my own dime. Well actually on my Shareholder OBC...
Don't think I could get away with it today but over 14 cruises between 911 and 2007 was always able to get a 1.75 on with the luggage and never got caught. Once even packed an entire suitcase full of beer. Usually tip 20 bucks when we dropped off the luggage but I don't think that made any difference.
Very informative!! Another fun question- If my friend and I both have a drink package. When I buy drinks for him, do they run his card to add to his “15”? We could make it a 30 drink day like that. Lol
Technically your friend and you can't share drinks so you can't just take his sea pass and run his card BUT if you find a bar tender whos willing to do it, tip them in cash. The other option is to just wait for servers to come to you and hand them the sea card pass with him there and just take his drink. I don't think they really care who drinks what, especially if you tip in cash. In April, we witnessed this couple in the MDR who had the cheers package and the husband had reached his 15 drinks already but the server was nice and she just charged his next drink on his wife's account.
Another option is to buy a drink for your "friend". This cost money and goes against your sail and sign account, but doesn't count towards your drink limit. What your friend wandered off? You shouldn't waste that drink...
@@Seaquesttravels OK you have your experience I have mine. I guess I got good bartenders. Or this is a case of those extra couple buck tips paying off. And it is actually how it should go. If you are not drinking them and willing to pay for others the ships isn't going to care one way or another. The 15 maximum to to protect Carnival's profits after all and if they get paid the extra they shouldn't really care.
Sail on NCL with a Free at Sea drink package. 15 is a lot. You can also get a double on reasonable brands even good ones. If you are in a cabin with someone who doesn't drink so much, they let you get two drinks with one card as well. I find a good bartender and tip them a dollar a drink the entire cruise and give them a nice tip near the end if they took care of me and they really go the extra mile. Rarely ever see anyone else tip.
I always make a comment to the bartenders, with a smile... 'don't be afraid to pour it in, I like them strong :) It seems to work most of the time. (along with a tip of course) They already get a share of that 18% paid on the drink package but cash tips definitely inspire better service and better drinks!
I drop a hundred right off the bat and tell them that we are here to drink, usually end up being 250 for three days. I don't get up to get drinks, they bring them to me
wow $50 and more than once.. well i'm sure they do love you and give whatever they can! I do the occasional $5 to my favorite bartender, and $2 here and there/more often. But, 15 is more than enough for me. For anyone that really wants more drinks and stronger drinks and they are willing to tip $50, more power to ya! :)
Tommy are you sure that the round of shots doesn't count as one against your limit? My last Carnival cruise I bought a bottle of wine for the table on my birthday and they counted it as a drink against my limit. Now this is a way to extend your drinks if you like wine since a bottle is good for 4-5 glasses. It does cost, but like to bon voyage bottles it helps extend things.
@@Seaquesttravels I have bought several people many drinks when I have the drink package. Just tell the bartender that it is not for you and they apply it to your Sail and Sign account as a purchase and you still get your 15 drinks.
@@pewing99 I have had the same experience on every CCL that I've sailed on. I was able to purchase a drink for a "friend" and put it on my sign and sail card. Not sure which ships NC Texas has been on, but that hasn't been my experience.
this video is not accurate any more. shots do count against your 15 drink limit and the bottle of liquor ordered through fun shops to your room is only allowed on 7 day or more cruises. the taking care of your bartender trick is the only one that will possibly still work.

THIS! Our alchemy bartenders were the best on our last cruise. My husband would go get them pizza an coffee and they treated us well :)
Alcoholics go to meetings. We're "drunks" 🤣
AA is for quitters.

This is the cruise content we want. Thank you!
Dude you’re hilarious “wanna get where you wanna go” hahaha subscriber for life now.
The best cruising channel on UA-cam! Super helpful video thanks Tommy

This was a fun video, look forward to cruising someday!
15 drinks is only alcohol correct? The water and coffee thats included aren't limited or included in the 15 are they?
I have heard that they are
No actually only alcoholic drinks count towards the 15 drink limit. Waters, coffees, milk shakes, sodas do not count against the 15 limit
I’m going in a 7 day cruise , Ive been told the cheers package doesn’t go in effect until the 2nd day. So the per day price is for 5 or 6 days? Be disembark day is in the morning?
That only applies to sailings out of Texas and New York. All other sailings - drink package starts at embarkation! :-)

So if we do the gift of 4 beers to the room before we go or the bottle of champagne to the room it will not count against our 15?
correct. Or the bottle of whiskey or vodka
I am on vacation so I drink all day, not an issue with 20 or so drinks. Party on
Turn up your volume! You have a mic, my computer is full blast and I still cant hear you.

I have an option for getting more than 15, but it’s not looked at in great regards by Carnival
Never heard that about the shots not counting and paying for them “ out of pocket “.
Another option is to buy a drink for your "friend". This cost money and goes against your sail and sign account, but doesn't count towards your drink limit. What your friend wandered off? You shouldn't waste that drink...
This is exactly what I meant on the mast one. Did I mess up and not communicate this properly?
Nope, you cannot do that unless you use one of your fifteen.
@@Seaquesttravels I've bought many drinks for others. Actually they were all real people even. Never had a problem with them being counted against me.
Texas Wyldcat Not on Carnival. You must use your Sail & Sign card and it will count if it is alcohol

Specialty coffees from Java Blue, milkshakes, energy drinks and soda are all unlimited and do not count toward the 15 drink limit.

With an average of one an hour that only gets you from 10am to 1am.

Might as well skip the package and pay as you go at that point.

In my experience the shot situation was just like the “ buy and drink for a ‘friend’ thing”
It definitely counts. And non alcoholic drinks do not. Bad info here buddy.
Also you cannot just pay for a drink at any time if you have the drink package. If alcoholic it must go toward the 15 limit.

I definitely don’t waste it on breakfast with a mimosa
Good info. Thanks
How is your intro unbearably loud but your content is practically silent?!?!
An alcoholic that enjoys more then 15 drinks 😂. Right on man me too
15 drinks isn't a lot of the drink is 99% ice.
nice video
If you need to drink more than 15 in one day, odds are you need serious help.
Feel better now?
Dont get too excited

My recommendation is don't drink so many lmao. Are you trying to give yourself alcohol poisoning? Most I drank in one day on RC was 8
I just can’t relate to this at all. And that’s ok. Drink responsibly, y’all.
I take 15 drinkdas a personal challenge, I'm getting my mo ry worth
TLDR - You can't get around the 15 drink limit. You just pay for more drinks.
15 is amazing
I do it all the time
I don't understand how you can drink 15 in a day. If you do, there is no question you're an alcoholic and have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol.
If you need more than 15 drinks a day you should be cruising over to an AA meeting.
Ohhhhkayyy 🙄
I did 18 drinks in 30 minutes on the high roller in Las Vegas no problem. I'm not in AA...
I hope everyone who sneak it on.. get busted..yes i said it and stand by it
