For me the last check in time is perfect. There is no congestion in the cruise terminal, your cabin is ready, and most people are finish running around like chicken head cut off. Also, cruising solo is the ultimate. Everything at your own leisure. A cruise buddy now and then is OK, but solo is perfect.

5:10 - I understand your reasons for #8 - but I still subscribe to getting on the ship early - I get the port 11-11:30, the initial rush is gone, get onboard fast, muster drill, a leisurely lunch at a speciality restaurant to avoid the crazy embarkation buffet and by then rooms are open. Unpack workmanlike style and by 2 PM administrative duties are done and I’m enjoying the ship. 🛳️

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK. STAY AWAY. THE CARNIVAL VISTA IS BROKEN AGAIN FOR THE SIXTH TIME. This is a 100% Carnival and Vista issue and the individuals that should be held responsible and FIRED on the spot are the useless CHRISTINE DUFFY AND JOHN HEALD. These two wastes spaces of individuals have given all women leaders and brand representatives a bad name. I was on this same horrible Vista ship when it broke the 3rd time. Week after week this shameless liar and corporate greedy woman, Christine Duffy would send out emails one day before embarkation to all booked guests stating that the ship had JUST developed a propulsion issue and that it was being fixed by Engineers on board...She and her corporate puppet John Heald LIED and sailed the ship week after week for 9 months. As a result ports of call were cancelled or we arrived hours late resulting in all shore excursions and destination visits to be cancelled, itinerary changes, etc. This is the height of shamelessness by Carnival and specifically these corporate thugs. It is very easy to stand on the sideline and point fingers at disgruntled passengers who are calling out the TRUTH that Carnival is running a scam with this Vista ship at the cost of thousands of guests week after week. If something like this happens to you then you will realize versus judging people who are suffering due to Corporate greed. I cannot insist enough everyone people - please write emails to John Weinstein the President of Carnival Corporation to fire Christine Duffy the Present of Carnival Cruise Line and this wasted space John Heald. This is simple unacceptable! SHAME ON CARNIVAL! SHAME ON CHRISTINE DUFFY! SHAME ON JOHN HEALD!

I think you finally nailed down what makes me tick in retirement...always having something to look forward to. The big C put a damper on our first couple years of retirement, but we've been going at it pretty hard ever since. I love planning our travels. It is one of my great joys and I'm so glad I have time for it now. Always Be Booked is a great motto to live by!

When visiting a new island I try to take a tour that provides some history and talks about the culture - #9 Arriving late can be sketchy. I was once delayed by almost 2 hours arriving to Port Canaveral because of a car accident. If that happened late in the day on a late arrival plan I would have likely missed the sailing. #8 Most of my cruises are solo. I do enjoy cruising with friends and family but solo can be liberating. #5 ABB. Yes indeed. I have 6 in the next 17 months. Cheers! #1 Great show. Thanks Tommy.

I'm glad that Jack's Shack has improved. I had built it up in my mind listening to all the podcasts during Covid then when I went there in 2022 it was horrible. Dead vibe, horrible "service", and crazy prices that were more than on the ship. I'll give it another try next time I am there. Maybe in November. We have a Royal cruise that is supposed to go to Labadee, but I have heard they are subsituting Grand Turk on many of them because of the unrest in Haiti.

We sailed Vista literally right after you July 27-Aug 4. Gary the CD was great. Loved the Red Frog Pub & Brewery and all the live music everywhere from the atrium to the Havana Bar. Sad that Vista is having “issues” right now. Hopefully get those ironed out. She’s definitely my favorite ship.
