Thanks for watching, the video was sponsored but did my best to show you guys how the device works and what to expect in the highest quality format that I could.
Hi this device really worked for me, i really loved ulike IPL hair removal device. I had very thick hair on my arms, I bought this device in January 2024,and used it for one month (3 times in a week)then I saw the difference, I don’t shave my arms anymore, results are awesome, hair growth already stop.i used this device only now twice in a month for my arms. I definitely recommend this device.
Why are sooooo many dermatologists making sponsored videos about this device? It makes me skeptical about the device cus I’m not seeing any organic videos from regular users
@@robertpark9747 that’s a great point, I do the same thing searching for videos from Organic users when I decide to make a purchase. I assume most of the device users aren’t creators since creators are few and far between. I just wanted to share as much about the device as I could from a dermatologists perspective so I hope you got something out of the video!
Great video. I’m thinking of buying one for maintenance. I had laser sections done in offices and I usually keep my maintenance sections visits every 2 years or so I think this would be great
Thanks for such a detailed video explanation! Question: I use tretinoin daily for acne, can I use this on the same area, for example to treat unwanted facial hair?
Hi, I'm looking into purchasing that same Ulike device, so thank you so much for this video! I found it very informative and encouraging. And since you are a dermatologist, maybe you can help with a question I cannot seem to find an answer to. I have several cherry angiomas 🍒 on my body. Would this device be safe to use over them, and perhaps even help them fade? Thank you for your further help!
I get so nervous using this on my face I wear 2 sets of IPL goggles and close the gap under my eyes with (clean) underwear lol. And still see red when it flashes. Is seeing that flash of red even with eyes closed and covered a concern?! So extremely nervous about an eye injury since Im treating my face.
This is the same with my patients in the clinic? As long as you have goggles on you are good. In clinic my patients wear eye shields made of metal. The light brightens up your skull and you see red! It’s normal and safe my friend! Great comment!
Thanks so much for your response! I am doing this at home with the ulike ipl device. Ok, I will try not to freak out when I see the red in my skull 😂 thanks again.
@@SwoleMDSkincare is it safe to get right up to the edge of the eye socket as long as there is a protective eye covering? Also Ulike only says there can be up to 76% reduction in hair count but 96% reduction in hair density. Little confusing? Does that mean if I use it for the beard hair on my neck, it could just look like there are fewer hairs instead of being completely bald in that area?
After light hits, the follicle, what can I expect from my skin in the area that I have treated? Will the follicle come out? Do I have to exfoliate or use a specific facial regimen?
Is there any risk of skin damage when using an an IPL device? The one I bought says that if you have had skin cancer or precancerous moles removed that you should not use it. It also says that it filters most of the UV light so i’m confused.
This is because IPL can remove the pigment from cancerous growth and make it impossible to diagnose. The cancer is still there but IPL takes away the color that would make the cancer identifiable.
Hey, I bought it and used it for the first time. I am wondering if using this on my beard if I wanna get rid of the shadow, but wouldn't want it to be permanent. What if I used it once a week for example? What do you think?
Thank you, now I'm curious scientifically.. Whether permanent or not, should a series of treatments also get rid of the grayness below the skin? The "shadow" is actually the hair follicles, isn't it? So I'm not sure what happens to the hair during the process, before it dies. Sorry if this question is too complex to answer :)
@@SwoleMDSkincare TY very much for answering! On that note, is there any risk in taking a week break if I only started? Like the follicle adjusting and not responding to further treatments?
I am a newbie to this hair removal system! I am Afro American with medium brown skin like Will Smith! I can only use this at setting one! Do I use the wand in one direction or can I also use it against the grain? Are the settings to be used differently by skin color"¿ One more thing should I use it everyday and how long is each session?
Ulike has a IPL quiz on their website but it sounds like you may have a skin tone that’s a bit deep for IPL. The more melanin the more heat is absorbed by the skin. I would try that quiz and also refer to the manual to make sure that ulike air 3 is safe and effective for you!
@@SwoleMDSkincare I took the quiz and got this response about my skin tone! Great news, Ulike Sapphire IPL will be effective on you, but to ensure your safety, we suggest you use the device on a low level. It might take a longer time to see results, but safety first right?
@@SwoleMDSkincare I would still like to know if I should use the wand in one direction or can I use it against the grain? And MORE IMPORTANTLY Do I use it everyday and how long should the session Last?
What is your advice on using the Ulike on skin that has psoriasis, i dont have any rough big red patches but i do have it across my body as dry skin, im not trying to use the device to treat the psoriasis, i just want to know if it might irritate it or make it worse?
Great question, unfortunately clear peach fuzz hair isn’t well targeted by this device! In the video I kinda explain how when hair color is deeper and darker and skin color is lighter the device works the best and is the safest.
First of all, great video I have already ordered one about an hour ago lol. Now I was wondering about after cares like going out in sun should we use sunscreen or anything else, or is there anything else that you can guide on after cares would be appreciated. Thank you ❤
lasers have been studied in pregnant women, I think the main issue I can think of is the pain/stress factor of lasers not like the light his hitting the baby lol

Awesome idea for maintenance! Love it!

I would just day a night or two off tret, thats what I recommend in my office to my patients but tbh I personally think its safe either way !

Is it going to work on areas of the body with hyperpigmentation, e.g. dark underarms?

Yep no worries can totally use them over cherries they might take in a little heat but no problems worst case scenario they go away haha
thank you so much!@@SwoleMDSkincare

I feel the same way! 😂😂😂I only wear pair of goggles and I also close my eyes at times during my sessions!!
When I was trying then red flashing lights came

Just gentle skincare after, just slowed growth over time and eventual reduction in hair!

So if its no tattoos, you have to avoid any moles or beauty marks then, correct?

Shouldn’t irritate your skin or make psoriasis worse so as long as you aren’t burning you skin
I REALLY want this device! But, I guess I’ll have to wait as we’re doing fertility treatments. I was hoping I could do this while pregnant 😢
How many times can we used it over same are at the time ? I mean only one flash is enough or 2 3 or more for better result?
I would just follow the instructions to a T, start slow and do as you can tolerate I did a horizontal pass then a vertical pass

Heyyy how was your experience?
I just bought the Monsia Silk Series IPL with ICE Cooling 🥳
How many zaps per area on each treatment
As a 5’10 overweight male, it takes me nearly an hour to do my whole body.
Does it work on mustache shadow?
@swolemdskincare
If it’s dark hair on fair skin it can help!
Is there a reason why pregnant women can’t use this ?
lasers have been studied in pregnant women, I think the main issue I can think of is the pain/stress factor of lasers not like the light his hitting the baby lol
Does this work on a man’s face.
