NEVER use vinegar in any dish washer, washing machine since vinegar is an acid and can degrade you rubber seals which can cause leaks and break downs of the machine.
One of the greater recommendations you can give someone in a 3rd world country is to get a dish washer when possible, the amount of water saved over just a week alone is incredible Although they may not clean it and end up running it to the marrow
You did not mention how much electricity dishwashers use compared to hand washing!! And when hand washing dishes most people do not run the water the whole time. That's just a waste of water.
A typical energy star dishwasher uses 3kWh per cycle. Depends on how your energy and water cost, but in most developed countries, water are far more expensive than electricity due to expensive delivery infrastructure.
It was surprising to me too, but most people wash up with running water. Also rinsing will waste quite a bit of water, you would be surprised. Generally for most people dishwasher is a huge water saver.

Dishwashers can't clean shit.
I guess you need better soap?

They actually can if you get some commercial grade one or looking for one with steam feature to loosen up build up carbons.

Pull out the grimiest looking mug and proclaim how "squeaky clean" the dishwasher gets your dishes
Chipped too.
That's just the style of the mug... and the chip was on me haha. Maybe should've shown a better-looking dish

Those are fair points. There's pros and cons to both but from what I looked up dishwashers use far less water.

bruh. cleanliness and sanitization IS getting rid of the excessive accumulation of bacteria
Getting rid of the bacteria is cleanliness!
