I just sent this song to my ICU nurse Maria who took such great care of me during the worst time in my life. I had a massive widow maker heart attack on December 16th 2011 and was in the ICU for over 3 weeks and she’s the only one of my nurses that I remember because I was so incapacitated but many people helped me to leave that place but Maria (Crucita Garcia) holds a special place for many reasons. She even came to my wedding on Folly Beach six months later. We still stay in touch all these years later!

Ronnie Dunn is one of those singers who's awesome vocals sound exactly the same live as recorded. No autotune or special effects needed. Just real pure great singing.
It depends on the performance though. This one was epic, but I've seen and heard him come off pretty rough in concert when he's not had adequate rest.

Ronnie Dunn didn’t want to record this song, he felt it would not be as good as the original by B.W. Stevenson in 1973. Personally, I think he did a fantastic job recreating the energy that made it so popular and introducing his fans to a classic.

Before my dad died he told me whenever I heard this song it was him. 21 years later and he is still with me.

Music is so powerful and can help us in so many ways .i had a period in my twenties were i lost alot of friends and close family. From suicide 4wheeling accidents. To wrongful death at kaiser. To motorcycle wreck and at the services for all of them they played a song. Mostly a favorite song of theres and i to this day hear them and fight tears .songs i really would not care for. Yet i love .

I meet Ronnie Dunn doing some work on his house and I’ll have to say he’s one of the coolest famous musicians I’ve ever met. Very down to earth, actually set down with me and listen to my music not ever knowing me from before! First class man! Pure legend!
I don't know. I met Bobby Dahl at his house in 1995 after his Poison fame and he still lives here and he was pretty cool. Than again his sister is pretty hot

I'm with you! And I've seen comments like yours on other B&D vids. That says something when they can bring in people who love a completely different genre of music. Tbh I don't normally like county whatsoever but I can make exceptions and when a band is awesome, they're awesome and these guys are!

Sensational! It's one of those songs which is difficult to pick the best rendition since nobody is even going to attempt singing it unless they can pull it off. Nobody is smoother than Ronnie.
Damn that's a pretty good live version right there. Ronnie nails it vocally and the band is tight, love the lead guitar letting loose at the end.
Their drummer for this was top tier.

That's for real. I first listened to BW Stephenson song in 1973 doing first year in High School. During funky weekends, it was played several times over and the encores would not fizzle out! I listened to Brooks & Dunn a few years ago and today. I am compelled to admit, it is a thrilling arrangement, especially so with its country spirit meshed up with a sweet stinging Rock'n' Roll guitar solo, you are left feeling the seventies, now!
How cool would it be seein BW AND B&D doing this live on stage? WOW!
I think there's room for both versions in this world---they're equally amazing vocal work outs. Most of us are glad Ronnie did do this tune for us---hard to imagine it NOT being around now!

We saw Brooks & Dunn last night at the Blossom Center in Cuyogha Falls. Fantastic!! My favorite song of theirs. When the first few chords were played the crowd went nuts. One of the greatest duo's of all time.

Ronnie Dunn’s voice is still in amazing condition! He’s been singing well over 30 plus years! At his age, most singers have lost their vocal abilities and can no longer sing their hit songs as they had many years prior. If you don’t take care of your vocal cords and keep them in good shape along with the other key pieces that support singing then you lose it. Ronnie clearly still has it all! An incredible accomplishment on his part!

Aside from Ronald Dunn’s excellent vocals my favorite part of this song is the pedal steel and the backup vocals. I think they must have found the 3 prettiest singers on the planet for this concert.
