I'm impressed that your little putt-putt made it around the ring road without blowing up.. lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I see that Ankara is far-seeing and planning for a fantastic future. By making the ring road big, they have given themselves lots of room to expand without any major troubles. Our capital city isn't found in the middle of our country, but I can see why Turkey moved their capital farther into the center. That way it can be protected better from any invasions, and the room to expand is there. Istanbul will eventually have troubles expanding, as they occupy a huge area on the end of their country. I'm glad the traffic wasn't bad while you did that lap, but I'm afraid of your putt-putt will not make a second round at that dizzying speed of 80 km/hr. (Aren't I a mean bugga.. 😂) Have a great week, and can't wait for another installment of "Visiting Turkey as a Cheapskate".. (just gotta love me 😘). 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My motor did even make it all the way through a snowstorm! Many people are afraid of driving such small cars but if you work your way through the gears you can generally keep up with traffic... most of the times! :D
@@RoadsofEuropeverreme I am amazed that your putt-putt actually survived with you at the wheel.. (man I'm mean today...). So happy you survived your Turkey trip, and I'm happy that you got to take us along on this trip of a lifetime. I'm appreciating the views, the dialogue with interesting tidbits of information about Turkey. Can't wait for more installments of this trip. Hurry up!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
9:10 The areas SW quarter of Ankara is planned to have a low density residential development (with mixed-use development along the boulevards) but there can be no urban development in Ankara without at least 2 plan invalidations by the courts (often much more). Hell, even the Dikmen Valley redevelopment is not yet complete even though it was supposed to be done nearly a decade ago. Yet, it's only at 3/5 phases complete. The latest iteration of the plans for phases 4&5 were anounced last summer and it appears the legal troubles came to an end and development started (for the last week the municipality has been hard at work removing the last remenants of the old slums and laying down the new roads while construction projects picked up at the end of the summer). 9:35 That design change is due to the change in the planned alignment of the expressway on 10:05 as previously it was planned to curve SE instead of SW, have a seperate junction with O-20 where the bridge on 10:15 is, follow along 612. Cd., and connect to D260. 10:05 That expressway is going to go towards METU (not TUME, that's a typo there), but its purpose is not serving METU but forming an alternative to the often-congested D750 (Mevlana Blv.) in the north-south axis and providing an express route to Bilkent City Hospital (Bilkent Şehir Hastanesi) in case of any disasters.

Wow, thank you very much for your comment! You answered all the questions that arose to me while driving on that motorway.
