Friendships in Finland are not about money. Nobody cares about how much money you make. It must be difficult to get your head around that fact coming from the most capitalist country in the world. However, the U.S. is only one country in the world despite what your media or government try to tell you. So I'm not blaming you at all. I'm just saying that you should have kept an open mind and acknowledged the fact that certain things are done differently in a foreign country. There really are no distinctive classes in Finland. There are no boundaries to who you can be friends with. If you like somebody's company, you can be their friend, no questions asked. You can be certain about one thing, he/she won't ask you how much money you make. It's irrelevant. Friendships are not based on money or class. Now that you know how things are done in the rest of the world, I welcome you back and hope that you make more Finnish friends who enjoy your company and vice versa. You know they won't judge you by something superfluous like wealth.
In my experience "friends" are easy to find, but real friends are rare.
Excellent thoughts. I think it's good you don't see your time in Finland as a time lost, but see your way forward.

We didn’t care how much money you had for real! I thought that you were very cool and glad you followed me and we started hanging out ❤❤

You can make friends. At 1st do NOT ask "How are you?". In Finland that means it and you will be a shrink.
