MysticUmbreon Hi Mystic
MysticUmbreon, can you make remastered videos of the best teams? Some of the videos didn’t have a moveset.

The biggest reason I pick Charizard is because it kills things with fire :D
*screams loudly* AND FRIKEN MOTHER F***** BUG TYPES
Okay, I would like to point out that there are a few sub-optimal move choices on the PVE team you proposed.
1. Don't teach Charizard Strenght. Zard's attack is mediocre at best and a Normal-type move doesn't counter any of his weakness either. Instead, tach it Dragon Claw, which, (in combination with Flamethrower) guarantees that Zard will always have a move that does neutral damage or better that takes advantage of his decent special attack.
2. Once you get Strenght, teach it to Primeape. Mega Punch has the same Base Power but less accuracy and, as you said, you will need a HM04 user.
3. Get rid of Seismic Toss on Primeape as soon as you get Bulk Up. Seismic Toss is a 3HKO most of the time. Instead of wasting those turns using a move that does around 30%-40% each turn, boost with Bulk Up for 2 turns and OHKO the opponent on the 3rd one. If that doesn't work, you should have switched Primeape to another mon to begin with.
4. Get rid of Bite on Vaporeon as soon as you get a 4th decent move to teach it (Protect to Toxic stall, Rain Dance to boost Surf's power, etc.) While Bite offers super effective damage against Pyschic and Ghosts, Surf will do more damage thanks to STAb even on a neutral hit (142>120). The only relevant exceptions that I can think are Starmie (which Raichu will take care of better), and Exeggutor (which is covered by Vap's Ice move and is handled better by Charizard anyways)
Overall, not a bad video, just wanted to give my thoughts on it.
How do you get dragon claw?
@@prudenciomangaoang7774 Victory Road, once you enter, go to the top right. You'll see two items there, the top one is Dragon Claw, the other is a Rare Candy. "Charizard is the worst kanto starter of the three."
Me: Sounds like something a bad trainer would say
No not really mystic is right charizard is the worst because it Is weak to water ,electric, and rock
@@lcuffy9890 that's like saying that literally any pokemon is the worst because it has three different weaknesses, I could talk about how with correctly built IV's, a well chosen held item and a versatile moveset Charizard can cover all of its own weaknesses and be a complete monster which is hard to take down unless you have a rock type which has a higher speed stat which is unlikely due to Charizard's crazy high natural speed -- but I don't care that much 🤷🏻♂️ Charizard is Charizard, a character in a game and opinions are opinions, not fact. Mystic isn't right for saying it's the worst and I am not right for disagreeing with him, such is life.
PS my original comment was for comedic effect, which renders both your response and my own moot point really.
L Cuffy he’s not the worst 😭
L Cuffy charizard is the strongest of the 3
@@Oblivinar Try making a playthrough with Charizard and compare it to Blastoise and Venusaur. It really is the worst. Just because Charizard looks the strongest and is popular means nothing. Weak against 4 gyms, doesnt work great with some of the stronget pokemon of Kanto when building a balanced Team, and overall just doesn't compare. Take this from someone using Charizard in Firered fight now,and wishing I'd picked another starter for this run. I'll give it that it's good against the elite 4 but it's not amazing even in that.

Can confirm. NidoKING is a beast. Nothing more satisfactory than one shoting Misty's Starmie with a Mega Punch from Nidoking.
the lvl 100 nidoking isn't really a lie. It is because of a coding error in the original gen 1. You can look it up

The Mankey isn't really necessary for Brock and Mt. Moon in Fire Red because they added Steel Claw to Charmander/Charmeleon's learned moves. Note that this was added to Fire Red. In regular red, starting Charmander is a headache and a half.
Yes but it's still risky to use iron claw bc no stab and at a low lvl so it prolly won't one shot. Mankey has an early game stab move wig really solid stats

Xgeorge Man not trying to be rude, but what does that change?
I think it's wrong to say Charizard is the worst not because I'm some Charizard fan, but because you have to consider what other pokemon you can get. Fire and flying are really valuable types, and the other options around Kanto are really lackluster in this regard. Now you get two in one. Meanwhile, I think Starmie and Vaporeon are simply better than Blastoise, and you can easily find mons that cover up what grass types give you. Grass is only good against water, ground, and rock which can be handled by a water type(which you'll need anyway for surf) and a great electric type like Jolteon or Raichu(which you'll probably need for flying types), and is weak against common poison and flying types.
Charizard, Starmie, Jolteon/Raichu already covers like 11 types on STAB alone with powerful attackers who can out speed basically everything you'll face.
Off the top of my head, Charizard, Starmie, Jolteon, Nidoking, Hitmonlee, and Haunter cover every type in the game off of just STAB except Dragon, throw ice beam on Starmie or use a Vaporeon with aurora beam and replace Jolteon with Raichu.
Well, Charizard in his own regard is definitely one of the best fire-types in kanto, sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's automatically that good amongst everyone. Fire-type is easily forgettable in gen 1 because Fire-type matches poorly against things, as it deals only with grass, bug and ice types super effectively. Those few types you can handle with better flying types such as Dodrio or Fearow, and in case of ice types you can just exploit their secondary typing, or just use hard hitting fighting-type move or something along those lines. In gen 3, fire types do deal super effective damage against steel types, but the problem is, since the remakes are still heavily gen 1 oriented, steel types are extremely rare. Flying types are still better since in addition to grass and bug types, they do destroy fighting types and do not have quad weakness to rock or weakness to water. That being said, Charizard is definitely not the worst starter, Blastoise would rank worse considering the fact Blastoise is easily replaced with almost any water type in the game, and grass-types have pretty horrible STAB moves in gen 3, so using them as sweepers is somewhat frustrating to do and not everyone likes stalling (C'mon, seriously? Stalling against NPCs?).
Some very valid points, but my Charizard is never gonna be going up against rock types or water types. That's what the rest of my team is for. I agree with you on Blastoise, but what does Venasaur even give you? It beats water types, but I feel like an electric type is almost necessary for flying types since rock types are so slow other than late-game fossils. It beats rock and ground types, but so does the water type that you basically *need* to have for Surf.
Given that electric and water types are necessities(at least in my eyes), the other two become pointless while Charizard covers your flying spot combined with the speed and special attack to sweep with ease.
Well, you're correct. All of the starters are honestly really superfluous and easily replaceable with any other pokémon in the game, but at least Charizard does provide some sort of diversity the other starters don't have. Honestly, the only perk Venusaur really has is that he's better than both Victreebell and Vileplume, but seeing how Vileplume at least gets Petal Dance whereas Venusaur is stuck with a shitty Razor Leaf for STAB attack for most of the game, he's not really winning by a large margin, and Overgrowth as an ability is really useless on someone who constantly drains HP through Leech Seed and/or Giga Drain and likely uses Leftovers. At least Vileplume has Chlorophyll, and like you said, grass types are easily replaceable with a combo of a water and electric type, especially those that can combine both types into one, namely Starmie and Lapras. I myself prefer to run Charizard, the first gym is overrated, it can still be easily wrecked by Ember and/or Metal Claw and the second one can be owned by a lvl 26 Pikachu with a T-Bolt easily, before I bench it for Jolteon in Celadon. A really good thing I enjoy about Charizard is the fact that Charizard gets Dragon Claw, which lets Charizard hit Kingdra super effectively during the second round of E4, since Kingdra is only weak to dragon types in this game.
@@smaragdchaos finally a person that talks sense
@@smaragdchaos yeah exactly the other starters are replaceable and charizard has a much better move pool
I just finished FireRed with this team with the exception of Charizard being shiny and I gotta say it's a cake walk. I'd honestly replace Strength with Steel Wing for Charizard once you get to the Pokemon League, but otherwise, it's amazing.
There is shiny in fire red ?????!

You are only a noob if you think starters matter at all when completing the game.
striker4life360
Charzard most fun starter for completing the game
Blastoise strongest of the three but not that popular
Venasaur easiest to train and beat the game with
Charzard is my fav tbh
NEPSMG I think Charizard is the worst strater to pick in kanto (I still pick him though) but is the best kanto starter for kalos and in competitive play after gen 6 because of the two megas. I like using Mega Charizard Y and Venusaur in double battles because of the drought ability and Venusaur´s hidden ability chlorophyll and pretty much destroy everyrhing in my way. In singles I use Mega Charizard X with Dragon Dance and Flare Blitz. I like all Kanto starters but Charizard and Venusaur are my favourites.
PS: Blastoise went downhill after Gen 6
I am playing leafgreen with a charizard I have to admit metal claw helps me not regret my decision but charizard turns out to be a monster when you train long enough.
why megapunch when you can use strength and have a free slot on charizard?
Right, Strength is way better than Mega Punch to begin with, and Strength on Charizard is useless. Better use Dragon Claw which lets Charizard everything barring steel-types neutrally and Dragons super effectively.
It's nice that you breakdown the moves here
If you're gonna use mega punch then just give primeape strength and have the extra slot for charizard.
Give Vaporeon those Black Sunglasses to boost that Bite to a Crunch

Thx for this vid I know I’m like two years late but it was really helpful and I Made pictures of every Pokémon and moveset so I’m ready for Kanto.
I am not one of those people who says "OH CHARIZARD IS THE BEST KANTO STARTER!" People who say that are dumb. Each starter has their own thing to them.
Venusaur: Bulbasaur is cute and Ivysaur looks cool. Venusaur is a badass pokemon, and the first starter I chose for my playthrough of pokemon dark violet (Which is an amazing hack of Fire red.) I am currently playing with Venusaur, Nidoqueen, Espeon, Rapidash, Kingdra, and my final pokemon will be Dragonite. Venusaur is also the easiest to level out of the three, and if you give it an amazing moveset, it can be a badass... Sadly though, I am not a fan of Mega venusaurs design..
Blastoise: Blastoise in my own opinion is the most overrated start in Kanto, That doesn't mean it's a bad starter. Blastoise out of all the starters has it easy, but it's about the middle road for the game. Squirtle and Warturtle are both amazing, and I do like Blastoise. I just find it to be the most over rated pokemon compared to charizard. For my team on Blue version I had, Blastoise, Alakazam, Arcanine, Dodrio, Raichu, and Rhydon.
Charizard: MY favorite Kanto starter and the first pokemon I ever chose for my journey through Kanto. I always liked the designs for the Charizard line, mainly because they felt simple and who doesn't like a fucking dragon.. It's too bad though that he's not Fire Dragon, but hey what can you do. Charmander is the hardest starter to level up, and I like that. Makes it a challange. Charmander will always be my favorite starter of Kanto. My team when I am going through a Kanto game (Such as Red, Firered) are, Charizard, Nidoking, Jolteon, Lapris, Golem, and Gengar/Alakazam (just depends).
While charizard is my favorite kanto starter, It's not my favorite starter in general. That and I feel gen1 is overrated as hell despite growing up with it. (Johto is my fav)
I think charizard is fire/flying because if he was fire/dragon he wouldn't be weak to water and that would break the "grass beats water, water beats fire, fire beats grass" thing
cebolimha gameplays wow I never thought about it like that
King of Gaming yes that’s why Gyarados is water/flying not water/dragon because dragon was so OP in gen 1. No ice weakness because if water typing. No electric weakness cause dragon. No fairy type yet. It would have been too over powered.
This was actually surprisingly close to what my team was in FireRed (if you replace Nidoking & Snorlax with Kadabra & Wigglytuff)
I'd ditch mankey after Brocks gym and just run Alakazam
I also question the wisdom in having a fighting pokemon on your team for Kanto. He said that fire types aren't useful in Kanto, well the same can be said about fighting types for that region. Your better off using a Psychic pokemon as it can resist Sabrina and the remakes don't include dark types in the main game, so once again there's really nothing that can hurt it
@@ChampionElCid i've just finished the game and there are a ton of annoying bulky normal types. Fighting mons are actually very good, just not for the most important fights. Definetely recommend running one. Ofc, psychic types are way better but where's the fun in alakazam oneshotting everything...

He literally said "rest in peace in peace"
this man has truly evolved the human tongue
talk about the joke flying over your head....
Does that mean you’ll do HG/SS with each starter?
My team I used on FireRed and now Pokemmo.
Charizard
Gyarados
Dragonite
Alakazam
Gengar
Electabuzz
Magmar is good too
@@fatal3027 he already has Charizard as his fire type
Strong team
Pretty good team
Lets have a battle in pokemmo?
I'm gonna playthrough with this exact team and movesets, right now. Wish me luck.
Now just do best teams for all the different starters in all the various regions and I can die happy :)
My Charizard's attacks are
Mega Punch
Flamethrower
Slash
Fly
It one shot all of misty's Pokemon and Gary's 2 shots Elite 4 and 3-5 shots in every gym leaders
swap mega punch for dragon claw once you get it
@@xyzzy-dv6te yeah super effective against lance
That's the exact movepool I have on my Charizard in this hack called Cloud White
I’ve always been a fan of machamp over primeape personally. Slower but revenge on machamp is so satisfying! But love the list man 👍👍
but he said he isnt including trade evos
Imagine being so childish to call something overrated and hate it just because it's widely popular
Hate it for those reasons, for sure. But calling something overrated because it’s more popular than you think it deserves to be is just normal.
Personally I think Charizard looks kinda cool but I’d never run it cuz it sucks
Except it is overrated.
Two word's apex legend's
Big Chungus stfu you kid
Charizard is okay. I think he's overrated but that doesn't mean he's bad. I still love the dragon. However, he is the weakest starter for a Kanto game.
I gave Charizard dragon claw, and that made him very useful against Lance.
Good idea since dragon type is special in gens 1-3.
@@southpaw3559 after the physical special split, i would be wrong, yes. But in gens 1-3 dragon was indeed special, so were water, fire, electric, grass, dark, psychic and ice type moves. Physical was ghost, normal, fighting, flying, steel, ground, rock, bug and poison if I remember correctly. Gen 4 introduced the physical/special split, which made some moves physical and some special, regardless of the type.
Also, bit of feedback for future videos...
Please mark tutor moves as you go.
Because this is a video, it’s really hard to skim back through it later and you obviously don’t have a text version of the team in the description (which would be be handy too). It would be great being able to check whether I need to keep an eye out for tutors as I go (it’s very easy to walk past the mega punch tutor as you limp out of Mount Moon, thinking it’s another trainer battle you don’t have the health for only to realise you’ve hit Cerulean City and can’t get the tutor again until you have fly to return and then either retread Mt Moon or maybe surf possibly?
Just saying if it were known that it’s a tutor move and not a level up move, I can be more careful. :)
Anyway. Good guide. Just wish I didn’t need to write so many notes as I watched. :P
Minus Nidoking and switching Vaporeon with Lapras, nearly the whole team is made of Pokémon owned by Ash.
Wow, someone forgot that Charmander learns metal claw at lvl 13 if Fire Red/Leaf Green. You can pawn the entire first gym with that alone because Charmander will be faster and thus strike first.
Mankey is just needed as backup. Charmander can usually defeat 3 of the 4 pokemon 99% of the time due to this. It's just onyx that has a 50/50 odds of defeating it at lvl 13 (probably 14 by the match with onyx). If you get Chamander to evolve to Charmeleon at lvl 16, the match is usually 95% odds of Charmeleon winning all 4 fights.
In Red/Blue/Green/Yellow the first gym was way tougher with Charmander... but not in Fire Red or Leaf Green.
Charizard sucks
@@siddharth1010 Not more than your poor attempt at trolling
@@jonathanryan9946 I tried using metal claw, and tbh it didn't really work out. I think mankey's low kick does bits considering that it 2hkos onix (it was 4 levels lower)
I really like this team other than the lack of a psychic type. Sad that there's no love for my main man Alakazam.
Just swap snorlax there's really no need for him
2 words: Trade Evolution
@@ActuallyXav yea, I use a emulator that has local link.
Don't be sad I also like alakzam he is one of my favourite
Replace vaporeon with starmie if u have leafgreen
Or lapras. It can use TM psychic too
7.50 or maybe u can train a magikarp to level 20 and evolve it to a gyarados which is what i did :D
and you can still get lapras but u can get magikarp WAY earlier and its more strong.
I done this team in my Firered team and holy moly this team does work
Interesting, your picks are almost exactly the same as my recent Charizard team. I switched a few pokemon out but at one point all of your picks were on my team except a Nidoking, I used a Nidoqueen. My final team against the elite four was Charizard, Dragonite, Zapdos, Nidoqueen, Starmie, Snorlax. I leveled everyone to 55 before taking on the elite 4, and it was a bit easy with that team. Zapdos and Starmie gained the most XP, I indiscriminately went for one shot KOs and those 2 were most useful. I taught Snorlax Hyper Beam, very useful against psychic types!
Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Charizard, this team is great! I might try it!
What snorlax dosen't have rest
A minute thirty into the video and I feel personally attacked
Good
Thx this really helped for my snorlax
:D
I actually used this team
AND IT FREAKING WORKED
No way
Except for Primeape. Didn't do much after Brock.
I have
Charizard
Bulbasaur(not evolved and traded)
Squirtle(not evolved and traded)
Pidyeot
Pikachu
And mewtwo too thnx for reading
I prefer sticking brick break on Raichu instead of thunder wave for that normal type coverage.
if you want to have Mega Punch on Primeape, you can also give it strength later on, since it is just all around better
Disclaimer: What disclaimer I only wanted to tell my charizard team.
Charizard was, is, and will remain my favorite starter. Whenever I play Pokemon Fire red / leaf green, I always pick charmander.

Nice!
Dude this is crazy, I just got in to Pokémon through emerald and started fire red, this is straight up my team atm before I even watched the video, obviously not the exact same moves because my nidoking was caught at 33 in safari zone but still
That make the gameplay become LETS GO CHARIZARD! XD

Jesus looks like this new Misty evolved too much...
That’s her design from HeartGold/SoulSilver
hey Mystic do u mind if i use ur thumbnail for My Ultimate Team For Fire Red With Charizard because im planning on playing the game with Red's Origins Team?
When I used this team, some Staryu used Recover on a full heath then used camouflage into a ground type against vaporeon! That Staryu had 0 brain cells.
