The melodious and sweet rendering of Shri Shukram in Raga Pharaz/Paras expresses the love, grace, and joyous hearts of Kanchana Sisters! The very special are blessed with Shukra’s love, beauty, creativity, knowledge, and yogas that bestow harmony with nature - the longing of all mortals! The accompaniments, the videography, and the overall production are laudable.
This magnificent musical gem from Mudduswami Deekshita is not just about Shukra planet only. It is also about the resurrection of one of the most beautiful Raga that the Mother called Karnataka Sangita gave birth to : the Pharaz ! Interestingly this raga come long ago into India from the Persians. later on, our musicians divined out that this melody is indeed a gem that is carved out of Mayamalava Gaula Raga. Thus the Gandhara and Dhaivata were a little more attuned to suit our Indian needs and they had the magnanimity to retain the original name! Anyway, both our Music and Jyotisha (astrology) have adopted another interesting endeavor: the musicians and jyotisha exponents find a word or a phrase to completely indicate or to mean something within the system of Sangita and jyotisha which cannot be otherwise described or explained at all. this is famously known as 'swasamaya paribhasha prayoga'. This kriti on Shukra Bhagavanta is a glorious example of such a phenomenon. the listing of various rajayogas, the planetary movements, and configurations, etc are ably ensconced in the charana part of this kriti. It is once again a great pleasure to listen to Kanchana sister singing intune, perfect synchronization, perfect understanding, and they are so wonderfully immersed in the melody. their singing voice becomes one with their joyous heart. I have not seen this extraordinary talent elsewhere. May the Shukra Bhagavanta bestow upon them many more glories and musical achievements. I was wonderstruck at the beauty of the videography by the most talented and dedicated team. their team effort and dedication have enabled us to re-run and see this great song many many more times.
