@@goldtown6747 you have grate taste my friend. mine at the moment would be: trying to say: baseball's on, busy doin' nothing, the night was so young and girls on the beach :)
Beautiful mix, man. Carl's voice is perfect on this, and what great lyrics. And the twelve-string solo, Brian really was writing for John Lennon circa 64/65
This was just before Brian Wilson had Pet Sounds in the works, so he was hitting his stride artistically when he wrote this. This is what was known in the 60s as a "catchy tune" but there's a bit more to it. Great song in terms of production and composition.
Yeah there’s seemingly no reverb on the vocal here. The stereo spread is also very pronounced - the wide-panned acoustic guitars are such that the flubbed note (if that’s what it is) at 0:31 is really apparent. Wondering where OP got the multitracks… or is this an official release? Edited to add: And now that I’ve read the description in the video, I see where it all comes from. Very cool!
For some reason, I was expecting a song meant to emulate the Beatles to start out with the riff first, that would have been more faithful, or something that opens the song besides just the verse, but maybe they didn’t want to go too on the nose. Really great homage, easily could pass off as work from around the Hard Day’s Night - For Sale period.
Carl was the big Beatles fan, hence the vocal. Brian’s voice wouldn’t be abused until 1976ish but that was when Brian was “back”. His vocal wasn’t missing from a beach boys album until Summer in Paradise in 1992
@@zachsmith3 Brian's beautiful voice as we knew it ie on wouldn't it be nice, Caroline No etc was gone post 74. Forever! He smoked 100 cigarettes a day over the time he became bed ridden for 2 years. His voice as we knew it never recovered.
@@zachsmith3 Brian wrote the song though, specfically for John Lennon - After all Brian was a huge, huge Beatles fan, to the point where Rubber Soul of course inspired Pet Sounds.
I can't come up with the words to say how great this song and band is. One of their best I say one but they had a bunch of great songs
This song shares the top 3 faves from the BB along with All Summer Long and Let Him Run Wild.
When "Endless Summer" showed up on the record player in '74. I was hooked on this song!
This wasn’t on endless summer
@@griffinreitz147
Yeah it was
One of my favourite Beach Boys songs (four songs in total). A good start into the day! ☺️
what are the other three?
@@hectorf4610 "Surf's up", "Wouldn't it be nice" and "We'll run away". 😀

The original mix could hardly pass as stereo, but this mix is the definition of it.
Wide and clear and wonderful.

Carl was and is an angel.Always tried to help Brian.
Such a great vocal
LOVE THIS MIX .. TRUE STEREO. !!! Love the Fade out ending of the guitars
One of my favorites in stereo circa 1965. 🌠

Very well done. The extended part sounds natural.
love love love the outro!
impressive, wish mine sounded this good
brilliant
Rip Carl
This mix sounds "drier" (for lack of a better word) than the original. Because of the lack or echo? Thanks for this -- very interesting!

@@slacktoryrecords4193 The celeste is also less pronounced here.

Eh, it's more trying to emulate to acoustic John Lennon songs, rather then their "riff" songs like "Hard Days Night".
Interesting that in 1966 The Beatles were number 1 in the USA , But ,the The Beach boys were number 1 in the UK
10 and 8
Boy I'm early
I hear a riff that sounds like ticket to ride.
Could you make some solo Brian songs? Like there's so many
Brian's voice was sadly missing post abuse 😢
