I saw every one but the last one when I was a child. I kept wondering what the name of This TV show was until I found out today. Thank you for uploading this review and recap. After three decades i can now rest in peace 🙏.

Movies are kinda like sea creatures. There’s many that we know and love. Many we know and despise. But it’s also likely that there are so many of them that 80% have never been seen by humans before. Probably 79% now.

So, firstly, yes, the giant alien baby thing is probably reminding you of the cantina band aliens from the first Star Wars film.
Secondly, I am a child of the 90s and did watch this growing up. Oddly, I had only the first three on DVD and did not really remember that there was supposed to be a continuation until literally this year.
Accordingly, I would like to thank you for your balanced review of this. I feel nowadays with so much selection on streaming, people tend to crap on anything that falls short of a masterpiece. Sure, Josh Kirby is worst than a lot of other movies but honestly it is still way better than a lot of really bad films too.
Case in point, in 90s, you didn't always have the option of one new movie or the other. Sometimes it was the option between watching a new movie, re-watching an old one you watched 20+ times, or an infomercial or staring at a popcorn ceiling. Plus, your VHS/DVD collection was pretty limited so any variety you could get you took it.
But the thing that really struck me about Josh Kirby in the 90s is that it didn't have a very 90s feel. Rather in owes more to scifi and fantasy shows of the 60s and 70s. It feels very much more like a cross between Irwin Allen TV shows (Lost in Space, Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel, etc.) and the Saturday morning live-action serials of Sid and Marty Krofft (Land of the Lost, H.R. Pufnstuff, etc.)
And with that I am reminded of the first Code of Kang: "Things are not always as they appear."

to be be fair i do think josh kribby may have been ahead of its time as its very obvious the show has basically the same format as a standard streaming show has today. its just realseing them on vhs was the only way to in theory give the experience i think the creators of the show indented to give.

I had the very last one on VHS at my great grandmothers house when I was like 8 years old. Haven’t thought about it since then. I’m 32 now and was sitting up late the other night and all of the sudden started remembering this mess. And then I find this video lol!

hey man, just wanted to say I came from the steven universe video that you made, I really enjoyed the style of going in by each episode and reviewing them, you should make more of those for different cartoons, genuinely one of the best videos that i've seen 👍

My friends and I watched Trapped on Toyworld for our bad movie night. I wasn't planning on drinking that evening, but once I saw 'Prism' I knew I could not make it through the entire movie sober.

I’m surprised watching the whole series didn’t lead me to a life of alcoholism.

I researched the actors who played in this movie series one by one, but only Jennifer Burns, there is no information about her on the internet. Does anyone know what happened to her?

The only Josh Kirby: Time Warrior I watched was Trapped on Toyworld which I watched on TV about 25 years ago. My father hated it and thought it was a load of crap. Josh Kirby: Time Warrior reminds me so much of Doctor Who and the 6 films have a similar plot to the 1978 Key to Time season from the Tom Baker era which the 4th Doctor, Romana and K9 set off across time and space on a quest to find the six segments of the Key to Time and stop the six segments from being possessed by the evil Black Guardian. The films may be poorly made and may not have aged well and the film may have poor special and practical effects, the acting may be questionable, and the film may be cheesy and silly. But it's a fun series of sci-fi adventure flicks made and aimed at kids and it's not for everyone. But anyone at any age can enjoy it.
