I love that you don't dilly-dally. You are straight to the point which is very helpful for me (and my adhd). So many tutorials are like over 20 minutes longs and I just CAN'T focus for that long on so much information that isn't important or relevant. THANK YOU for being on top of your game and proving these tutorials. I just discovered your channel about a week ago. I've been watching a bunch of your videos. They've been helping me with creating better thumbnails for my future vids as well as editing the portraits I take of myself. Sorry it's taken me so long to comment - I've been so busy learning!
Dear Jessica, I'm following your steps since a little while and now decided to subscribe to your channel. YAY :) I actually am a make up & hair artist, but feel so inspired after seeing your videos on youtube and photos on instagram that I want to get into photography again, because I did that for a while when I was younger, but then kinda got distracted. Thank you for easy, understandable tutorials on photography and photoshop, it helped me a lot :) You're great, greetings from germany x
i like the fact that you didn't touch the red veins in the eyes keeping the portrait of eyes natural. i have seen experts of photoshop making it very artificial , generally our eyes have visible veins!!! KEEP IT UP
Hi! I loved the video, it's really easy to follow and you go straight to the point! I would like to ask a question since I'm trying to do the same to my picture. I follow step by step all you're doing but when I change the layer from normal to overlay (and also to soft light) the colour change A LOT, so I'm not able to work on it since the result is awful just from the layer itself. I'm using photoshop CC 2019; if anyone knows why it happens and how to get the layers to NOT change the colours... that would be amazing since I'm trying to learn how to use the software. Thanks a lot!
Jessica can you please do a video on the adjustment layers uses in photo editing? I searched for it beacuse I want to learn more how to use them and I can't find detailed explanation specifically for photo editing.
Hi there ! Which photoshop is this? I am trying to download one for my windows 10 but theres do many and a free one as well.... Will the free one have these setting as well ?
Hello Jessica, I tried already twice the video, i do something wrong... When I am trying to draw it doesn't work, well i can not see it, and when i hide the layer it apeares but in a ungly way... what i do wrong ? Thank you for everything you do, your video are amazing, i am such a huge fan, you're such an inspiration
I know makeup often looks different in camera than in real life anyway (usually more dull in photo, much intense in real life). but if a makeup artist do this then put the photo in her portfolio, do you think anyone would say that she/he's a fraud?
while the technique is good, as a makeup artist and photographer I really liked the original version better. Sure you didn't brighten the white of the eye (thanks god) but you made the makeup looks like makeup.. So why not for an editorial look (in which case the whole picture would have to look editorial, not just some parts of the makeup) but for some beauty shot I think it's overdone. then again I know USA and france have two very different views on makeup (you're the more the better, we're the less the better, matter of taste), but it's just my two cents. Once more, techniques and tutorials are very well done, just don't agree with the direction (ask your male friends how they like the girl on the picture before and after!)

This is awesome!
Can you explain why sometime you use Softlight, and sometime Overlay?
Overlay is more contrasty and intense than soft light. It all depends on the effect and result you're wanting.
