I see a lot of criticism of Polly's lyrics, so often people judging David for, "letting his wife hold his testicles in her purse."
To those people, I promise you this: if Polly is exploring these themes, David is right there with her. Or quite possibly these ate themes David has been expressing and Polly understands him so well that she can put words to his emotions when he cannot. Remember, he is significantly older than her.
p.s. the guitar solos (i hear three different ones back to back, esclalating) in Scattered make me weep.
And it isn't sadness. It is...fulfillment?
