If you feel sad about your mom, feel sad. I was 15 when I lost my mother, and that was 55 years ago. Some days I wake up crying missing her so much. I can still feel her touch and smell her scent. My sisters and brothers and l talk about her all of the time, keeping her memory alive. I said all of that to say, it’s okay to feel the way you do. I love your channel. Stay safe and blessed.
Sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my mom almost 5yrs ago n let me tell you it hasnt gotten any better for me. I miss n love her everyday. So I know exactly how you feel hun. We are here for you (fans). Love u Miriam ♥🕊♥🕊
I love you, Miriam, and I understand about losing a mother. I'm really glad you posted this video because I love pork chops comfort food. I wish I could've been there eating with you. Know that you're never alone. We all love you so much. Thank God you're in the world.
My dad died of cancer when I was 2. Yeah, I know I never "met" him or remember him...but I still wonder and think about how my life could be different with him still in it, yanno? I don't know if I mourn him persay...but I do mourn the feelings of wondering about "what could have been." You're wonderful and your mama is proud of you. ❤
Aww im so sorry about your mother. You are so right about all that you said. Thank you for sharing that authentic and vulnerable and strong part of your life with us! Hugs! 💕 Food is always looking delicious and such an admirable woman!
I'm here for you. I understand how you feel. She didn't choose to leave. God wanted his angel back. She was here to do his work and she did. She made you, wonderful, caring, thoughtful and loving. She see you and she's proud, your so awesome. Keep your head you and I'm not going to tell you not to cry your soul need it.
Miriam I understand how you feel about missing loved ones, my mother passed in 1970 from cancer and my father in 1988 from alzheimer and to this day I still miss them both. Every now and then I also break down but you know God Is Good! I'm caughting up on your vids, loving each and everyone of them.
As always your food looks amazing, Sis! Thank you for sharing your heart about your Mom. It's been 10 years since my Mom passed and 3 years for my Dad. I still miss them everyday especially around their birthdays or the day they passed! I have learned over time to embrace my feelings and use that outpouring to learn or birth something new...which they both encouraged.🥰 I stand with you in your precious memories of your Mom, Sis! You are a phenomenal person and I know your Mom would be proud of all that you have become! Keep shining, Sis and thank you for being YOU!💜💜💜
No judgement at all! Much respect for being transparent with your grief. I was 27 (much older than you were of course) when I lost my mom, and I shared the exact same feeling. I adored my mother and loved and respected her so much. I couldn’t understand why the feeling of hate came about, especially for someone I love so dearly. I was glad that feeling was short lived. While I’m not sure why we experience those types of feelings when our closest loved ones pass away, I understand we go through a wide range of emotions during grief. I love your channel, your recipes, and your spirit! Stay blessed!
I was having an absolutely awful day and I just saw that you posted and I can’t even express to you how much I love you and appreciate you. Thank you so much for making me smile💖
I’m not one to watch mukbangs but...I love u 😂 the cooking portion is lowkey asmr for me, then you come in with the great personality, AND the food looks amazing. Can’t get enough
Since I'm dating a Jamaican who cooks mostly only Jamaican Food I've been craving stuff from back home (NOLA).. I may introduce him to more of my style of cooking (which would be these Poke (pork) Chops right here bayyyybayyyy)!...Lolol... Happy Saturday Miriam!
@Schanda Banks Right?!... When I had a pregnancy craving a few weeks ago I fixed stuffed bell peppers and he was like why you only fixed a few??? I was like cause you always wanna cook your jamaican food so this was for me and the babies...lolol...
Hey Miriam!! You are such a blessing! Your recipes, your personality and humor.... everything about you!! You have no idea what you for for us! Especially during quarantine!! Much love from Ohio!! 😘🥰😘🥰
I hollered at "Entanglement "! 😂🤣 Miriam..thanks for your humor and being simple and easy going in the kitchen. Love your spirit! Those pork chops, Yummy for my tummy! #keepcooking ❤
I usually never comment on videos but I made this for my dad tonight with a side of white rice. Now that man will eat anything & will always say something is ok when you ask him how it taste. I asked him how it tasted & he said good then I said is this recipe a keeper & he said yes!! Thank you so much for this recipe Miriam ❤️❤️❤️
Girl, you are so inspiring!!! I really want to try this way of cooking pork chops because I find that they get so dry and boring if they aren't seasoned and cooked right. This looks delicious and I bet your house smelled soooooo good!!!🤯
Bless your heart. I lost my mom Christmas day 2018 and it still feels like it was yesterday. I will pray for you sis. Your food looked amazing of course
Miriam I have been binge watching your content few a couple weeks now. Sharing some with my sister and my youngest son. I just finished this video and as per usual I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing your feelings on the passing of your Mother. I can't imagine being an 11 year old and losing such a major portion of my world. But I must say she didn't abandon you by any means. She did however start you on the path in which you have traveled. You seem to be such a smart beautiful and giving young lady!! I pray continued success in your life's choices. Best of luck and peace and blessings along the way!! Happy Cooking Queen!! It's so good!!💪🏾❤🙏🏾🙌🏽
Thank you for your honesty and transparency regarding your mother. I was 30 when my mom passed Christmas night 1990 and it still feels like yesterday. Never apologize about how you feel or that you should grieve a certain way. There is no rules on the proper way to grieve a loved one. You were a child, only 11. Of course you felt confused and hurt. I felt the same at 30. But I know you mom is proud of the strong and beautiful woman you have become. So keep smiling and loving hard, and stay strong cuz your fam loves you hard back!!! God bless!!!❤️❤️❤️
Bless your heart sweetie. I lost my Dad at 10. The feeling of abandonment never goes away, we just acknowledge it & make the best as we can. Still learning how to do that at 54. Love the recipe!
I lost my dad and my grandpa this year due to covid ..2 months apart.. 💔😞... I dont think I'll ever get over that..your vids make me happy 💖 and hungry lol
I’m so glad I watched you today... lost my dad 5 years ago July 14 2015 and I thought I was the only one still grieving.... just as I was coping with that BOOM my only sister died on Christmas Eve 2019 unexpectedly..(heart attack 51 years old) I miss them both terribly but I know they are both with my Lord and Savior 🥰🥰🥰 praying for you!!!!
This truly is one of my comfort foods! My whole family loves this dish. We add Portobello mushrooms to ours💕. It’s been a while, gonna have to fix it this week! One my Maw Maw used to make was No 7 Steaks(bone in), pot fried, then smothered in garlic and onions, like I can smell Sunday after Church talking about it❤️. Lost her on Mother’s Day 2015 and miss her daily😥. They went to 7am mass and we went to 10. Had around an hour of visiting and final set up, then ready to dig in!! I make it when I can find the right meat for it. Not really sure of its real name, we know it as meat smothered in onion🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for sharing about your mom! The pain of loss can be triggered by a song, a sound, a smell, but the memories will be there too! Enjoy reflecting on your mom!
