From the shot from the old lodge, on or near abouts the apex of railway line is a good camping spot Dave, ( more of a picnic area, but we stayed there in the 90s ) past Levisham train station on to a chalk road ( which ends up in Pickering outskirts) just past Rapers Farm ( now an holiday cottage I do believe ). But its out of the way of the outside world 😉, that old lodge looks bigger far away, but is quite smaller then I thought it would be 😉👍👍👍

Them clouds are as wild and untamed as anywhere else in the world Dave. I suspect Louie is still as wild somewhere inside as we all are. I've seen them swims - they're wild to. I visited the Hole of Horcum on a 3 day Geography Field trip from school many years ago. I wish we had walked around the edge, much better view of it on your walk, instead we went down to the bottom - hard work walking back up. I didn't remember what it was called, but recognised it and remembered it was near Malton and Pickering. We spent some time at Flamborough Head and did a stream study somewhere too. Had forgotten all about it :-)

We love your videos, thanks for uploading! You do have to keep Louis on leash most of the time, right? We're thinking about getting a Whippet as our next dog, and not to be able to let him run free all the time will take some getting used to. Especially during those outdoor activities.

@@onemanandhiswhippet Thanks for replying so quickly! We'll think about it for a little. I guess it's just a matter of what your preconception of a walk/hike with the dog should be like. My dogs (small terrier mix and a Border Collie) were both pretty independently moving, but never out of sight or too far gone to react to my recall. So i'll need some time to get used to the special traits of the different sighthound breeds.

Would you know if an inverter running from a leisure battery would power a small oven with 2 hobs the oven is 1500 watts one hob is 1000 watts and the other 600 watts total if running all together 3100 watts I guess you would need a 4000 watt inverter just not sure about battery and if it would just drain it to quick

One Man and His Whippet Dave Bertholini thank you just trying to think of something to boil some water heat up some soup that sort of thing in work van that I want to use in summer for trips out but carry petrol tools and cans been using single gas stove but thinking maybe risky around petrol I am trying to enclose the rear end with tools in and maybe put in a gas drop out as petroleum is heavier than air just like gas do you think it’s risky using gas stove

Having a section of your van that is completely separate sealed from the main area is probably the best idea or do you have an option of a lockable box on the roof rack to put the petrol in items in there? We love your videos, thanks for uploading! You do have to keep Louis on leash most of the time, right? We're thinking about getting a Whippet as our next dog, and not to be able to let him run free all the time will take some getting used to. Especially during those outdoor activities.
Louie is good off his lead for a sight hound however if he see something to chase he will run after it you can see him off his lead in some of my other videos

@@onemanandhiswhippet Thanks for replying so quickly! We'll think about it for a little. I guess it's just a matter of what your preconception of a walk/hike with the dog should be like. My dogs (small terrier mix and a Border Collie) were both pretty independently moving, but never out of sight or too far gone to react to my recall. So i'll need some time to get used to the special traits of the different sighthound breeds.
SimonJonasMusic Hi there yes that’s a good plan and if you get a Young dog it would also help I walk a lot with Louie and some days if there’s no sheep around he can be if the lead for a full day

Would you know if an inverter running from a leisure battery would power a small oven with 2 hobs the oven is 1500 watts one hob is 1000 watts and the other 600 watts total if running all together 3100 watts I guess you would need a 4000 watt inverter just not sure about battery and if it would just drain it to quick

One Man and His Whippet Dave Bertholini thank you just trying to think of something to boil some water heat up some soup that sort of thing in work van that I want to use in summer for trips out but carry petrol tools and cans been using single gas stove but thinking maybe risky around petrol I am trying to enclose the rear end with tools in and maybe put in a gas drop out as petroleum is heavier than air just like gas do you think it’s risky using gas stove
+Fugitive 6568 No easy if you wanted to be hundredpercent safe ! Having a section of your van that is completely separate sealed from the main area is probably the best idea or do you have an option of a lockable box on the roof rack to put the petrol in items in there?
And just use a jet boil stove that you can also use outside?
