More spawn is definitely more nutrition, but yields are gonna be mostly the same. More spawns helps with colonization speed and doesn't give much time for contamination to take over your substrate.
This is my first question I've ever asked but I've been curious for awhile. When using sawdust everyone says to use wheat bran supplement which is all well and good. Is there any detriment/benefit or does it matter if I use wheat berries as a supplement to my hwsd bulk substrate? I've always wondered because obviously that's easier as I have stupid amounts of wheat laying around for my grain jars.
I assume wheat berry would be just fine, not sure what ratio of berry to sawdust you'd need for best yield. But I see no reason you can't use them to give more nutrients to your blocks. Just make sire you get moisture content correct with the berries and sawdust not to wet but not to dry.
@@mountainviewmushrooms71 thank you, that makes sense to me. I also have a grinder and have done what four before and didn't have a problem, not sure it's that's better or worse. Appreciate your reply
For colonization, room temp is great 68f-74f. To cold and things will slow, to hot you risk heat stress. I've colonization in temps like 55 and it works, just a little slower
@@mountainviewmushrooms71 thanks, i think I'll experiment with it. I just harvested elm using lawn clippings as a substrate (not great yield but it works haha)
Great point! 68-72°f it's in the house, that usually what the temp range is. Colder is slower and warmer is faster but you risk contamination or heat stress if it's to hot.
I can recommend you to where I get my stuff from an online store his got his got Shrooms, psychedelics, alongside other products well Refined ships to anywhere discreetly.
Colonizing your substrate blocks by using more spawn, will get you that much closer to harvesting those delicious mushrooms. What substrates are you using?
@@faiyaaichannel Depends if your gonna use supplements like Soyhull or wheat bran. If you use those with sawdust you'll get greater yields but I have seen lots of success with oysters on straw.
Good to know I can stretch grain spawn, it will just take a little longer
New subscriber here!! Great videos!!
I promised you that subscription! Here you go. Great videos, and as always, thank you for the info.
😉👍
Does high spawn produce higher yields or is it not affected?

Probably not big deal but could work👍
Perfect video thanks
Awesome, glad it was helpful!

What’s the ideal temperature for colonization?

What substrate did you use?
Masters mix, 50/50 soyhull and hardwood

Isolated genetics helps

@@mountainviewmushrooms71 So after that test what amount do you suggest using?
