Hi BC guy! Great pattern I'll give it a try here in Alberta this spring! Thanks for the video and great instructions! :)
Thats a nice one, thanks a lot. Greatings from Germany
Thanks Andreas glad you like! Cheers from BC Canada!
Do you ice fish? If so, do you tie any flies to use for it?
Love your flies. Keep up the great work, my friend.
We do ice fish, and yes we do use flies, but we just haven't had time yet to get any tied up for the store. Hopefully soon ... :)
Thanks for the great video. Excellent instruction. Could I ask what type of UV resin did you use? Seems like it is quite thin but still have a bit of bulk.
Don Morrison deer creek diamond fine is what was used for this pattern. Thanks so much for watching!
Quick question: what size hooks do you tie these in? Thanks again! :)
Eagle Claw L144-F #14 ... if you can't find that one anymore (it's an oldie) try Daiichi I think they have something comparable ;)
Thanks but I was able to find it at my local tackle shop.Nice hook!
What does that black dot/stripe represent? Nice pattern!
If you look at some of the naturals you can see their digestive track, starting and ending with two dark spots. They are not visible on all of the larvae but this particular pattern includes them. The original had a dark spot penned in top and bottom. This version uses the bead to accomplish the same thing on top (as well as to assist in sinking the pattern) and then the bottom spot is marked in with a sharpie. :)
Any suggestions for an alternative hook?
Google Daiichi 1870 Larva Hook or 1770 Swimming Nymph Hook ;)
BCFlyguys thanks!
You might want to change the inflection in your voice while tying, it becomes monotone after a while, otherwise a very interesting pattern!
Brian Barrey lol I’m a fly Tyer and fisherman not an actor or radio host. Just want to put the info out there not too focused on how it sounds coming out. Thanks tho!
