Good Job! instead of changing to black thread, I just use a black sharpie marker to colour the red.

Great looking fly m8!!!
I have been using ( on some flies for variation) holographic tinsel in different colors underneath the vinil rib and the effect is actually quite "cool".
Just wanted to "add an idea" into the mix.
