I was drawing in my sketchbook and I tried to double tap to undo 🤦🏼♀️
same happens to me sometimes, i use my left hand for keyboard shortcuts, sometimes my left-hand reaches left side om the table while doing traditional to wonder where is ctrl+alt+z
Click the pencil to undo :-p
😅😂😂😂
i also tried to press undo while i was drawing on paper :p
@@johndripper 😅 metoo when i. Suddenly draw on paper after making digital art, i try to zoom page :"o
I just got the 10.2 inch model and freaking love it so much. I literally only bought it to draw on :D
I'm hesitating between this one et the Air 3, for the screen but the price like +170$...
Is the gap in the so annoying for drawing?
(Sorry for my English)
I would be interested in that answer too, does the gap between screen and display annoy you or how noticeable do you find it?
I am going to do the same thing 😍
The gap does not bother me one bit at all :) i also forget that there is a border around the wholw screen. If yall want to look at what im drawing on mine my instagram is rainbow.sparkle.grahams :)
What size storage did you go for? I'm looking to just get the 32gb but do you struggle with space? :)
Man, its never easy to know what model is what with those iPads. Apple made it so hard!
Exactly! I'm having the same problem
This is regular iPad gen 7
When u are broke all this con's don't exist
haha that made me laugh. It's true isn't it.
felt this. cannot afford the iPad Pro
Facts
I love how u kept it short/sweet and into the point. Please continue like this.
I was gonna get it but now I dont know and I cant afford a more expensive iPad because I'm a kid and I need to but this by myself
The cheap iPad is still good if that's all you can afford.
I hope you managed to save up to get what you wanted
Is iPad 10.2 good for drawing comics? Stuck between iPad 10.2 or surface go 8g for drawing and watching movies.
Awesome 🎨✨You are full of talent.
There is now 128gb on the ipad, I was thinking about getting it because of it now, do you recommend it?
This is great mate! Good on you! I am six months into digital creation! I am glad I found your channel!
Thanks for watching. Hope my channel will help you with all your digital creation needs!
Wow. This is a fantastic video review of the ipads. I had been wondering about the differences between the budget and the pros as we were looking to get one for our artistic daughter. Really appreciate the difference discussed about layers, because she uses my pro now and wonder how frustrated she would get with lower number of layer ops. Paperlike seems a no brainer too. Didn't think about a screen protector that would feel like paper. Thanks, Ian.
Thanks Andy. Unfortunately the layers thing is also the issue with the iPad Air due to having the same amount of Ram (3GB). The cheapest option is to go for a refurb 1st or 2nd Pro 12.9" as they come with 4GB for those extra layers.
@Möonrose Rosemöon Magical Drawings Honestly I wouldn't buy my children a tablet either. They'd have to persuade me that they've exhausted the possibilities with physical materials first.
@@ian1352 To be honest, you can save a lot of money going digital before trying out all the physical options, trust me.
Thanks for the info, Ian 👍🏻
I’ve been undecided about which iPad to buy when I upgrade from my Mini 2. I’m hoping that someone will have a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal that I can’t pass up 😄
It's great that more people can get started in digital drawing without having to spend loads on an iPad Pro. Hope you grab a bargain over the next week
Ian Barnard I agree! The democratization of digital art 😄
Love your videos
Hi! my neck is suffering from looking down, I see all illustrators drawing flat on the table, why no one is using a stand or cover?
thanks!
Some digital artist have "Adjustable tables" which they can adjust and afterwards they can draw while standing or by sitting.
Hello!! Thank you so much for this video! It came exactly when I need it! I was first planning on buying the ipad 2019 with 128gb, but when I see this video, I think I'd better buy the ipad Air! But can I ask, how much space does procreate take?? Do I have enough with 64gb??
The actual app itself is only 200MB. Each Procreate document can range in size but 3000px x 4000px with a handful of layers is 35MB
@@IanBarnard thanks!! That helps a lot!😊
Overall the budget sounds great for the price. But because of those little things like the maximum layers in Procreate, which I didn't know, I want the pro version.
Thank you for the video. It was really helpful
You're welcome. Though you could get a refurbished 1st or 2nd gen iPad Pro for a lot less money. Has to be the 12.9inch version which comes with 4GB ram to have those extra layers.
@@IanBarnard thank you for the information :)
With the current iPadOS you have the option to use external storage. It is more of a hassle of course, but you could keep videos off the tablet. Use your phone for photographs and music. I'd still avoid 32Gb, but 64Gb might suffice. I find it too little on my phone, but then it is gets filled with photographs and music.
Unfortunately you only have 2 options with the cheap iPad of 32GB or 128GB. Always depends on how much hassle constantly taking stuff off your iPad would be.
I just bought this and it might not be as nice a a pro but I do have a huion canvas pro 12 and photoshop so that's still my main tablet but I wanted a portable drawing tablet so it's fine for my use
So that was a textured screen protector?
Thank you for this video. I try to chose ipad for drawing on my way to work and back, I stoped on ipad 7 (2019), but witch one is better - black or white?)) I know - not very important question, but - it stops me)) with white - i can feel it like paper, but it makes contract borders it self, with black - there is a contrast for eyes - bright screen an black borders... What can you tell me about it?)
All I can say is I prefer black. But that's a personal preference
@@IanBarnard thank you!
How about ipad Mini 5 for creative artist. What is your thought about that?
Unfortunately I feel the screen is too small. As I mentioned in the review I wouldn't want to go any smaller than the 10.2inch version. The iPad mini is much smaller at 7.9inches and is only a little cheaper than the iPad Air.
Thanks a lot!
I was confirmed on getting the ipad 10.2, but now idk if I should save up some more for the air. I was trying to keep it not so expensive as Im only using it for procreate, but mentioning the better processor, the different type of screen, and running out of space makes me think. What a decision to make. * palm to face *
Any thoughts?
If you can stretch your finances to the Air you won't regret it for the better experience. Check the Apple Store Refurbished section as you may be able to get a cheaper Air there.
What’s the cheapest iPad that’s compatible with Apple Pencil 1
Thank you for this Ian
I’ve been wanting an IPad and start learning to create on procreate and the price point of the 10.2 iPad was very appealing (pun intended) but now that I have the pros and cons, I think I’ll splurge a little more on the air!
It's definitely worth that extra cost especially for the experience with the screen and how frustrated lack of storage space can get. Still much cheaper than the iPad Pro. The iPad Air is now a similar spec to the first & second generation Pros.
Can’t wait to get the grid and letter builders and all the wonderful brushes you have for procreate!
The air was such a good choice !!!!!!!
i've never done digital art before. should i get a ipad 10.2 or should i save up for a few more months and get a ipad air 3?
Penelope Poon 10.2
hi, i'm guessing you've bought 10.2 already... how's it so far? I've never done digi art either but would love to try it using ipad
@@charlene2585 mmm the smooth screen took a bit of time to get used to. i also bought a paper-like screen protector and that made seem more realistic and made it way easier. so far no problems with the 10.2. Im glad i chose the cheaper ipad cuz i don't think id even be able to feel the difference between this and the ipad air
cool content!
Can some five me a link for this iPad?
I am trying to transfer over to digital art, but I dont know what tablet/pen to get. I also know practically nothing devices so any help would be appreciated. Any recommendations for a cheap tablet and were to get it?
I can only recommend the iPad and Apple Pencil due to the fact that the best drawing app Procreate is only available on iOS. So I'd try and get the one featured in this video if you're on a budget.
@@IanBarnard Thanks, I would be lost without you lol
So does the pencil2 work on this 10.2? I keep seeing people say no due to charging issue..
no it does not work.
@@thelizbeth301 thank you
I am still here with my iPhone 7+ drawing on procreate pocket and still thinking between iPad gen 7 or iPad air 2019🤔
Omg same but I’m still on my iPhone 6 😅
I’ve been drawing digital for a while with a 5c and just recently been drawing on 6s
@@isaiah9501 i think it is still good to use iphone. In my case, i get pressure sensitivity on my iphone with procreate pocket. Keep it up for best works, friend😊
are ipad 7 aka 10,2inch support Procreate?
Yes bro so well
i have ipad 5th generation , Which pencil does it work in it?
Unfortunately the 5th generation iPad doesn't support the Apple Pencil
does it have any pressure senssitivity?
Im sure it does
I am on a budget, there is no choice for me. But I am a useless artist.. So it evens out
U can always improve 😜
I relate.
Don't give up
This helps since I’m using Samsung for my drawing :)
Was it good to draw in samsung?
Ai Ai it was actually quite good! I prefer the iPad but for the price of a Samsung it’s rlly good! Ibis paint with a stylus is good
is he drawing with procreate?
Yes
I animate with my finger. I just need a iPad cheaper than $150 and with the latest ios
Bob lazar is you?
I got the 10.2 but i cant buy Procreate for some reason :(
Do a system update. I had to do one on my new ipad.
When i hear paperlike a play next. Sorry mate!
So much money

@@ikilledzombie2140 the sale was just over yesterday you T-1000 looking ass. I'm not lying do your reasearch. Best Buy had an Apple sale
Julian Ospina id slap you silly, you bitch billy lookin head ass
You are so handsome 😍
When you have the drive and talent to do digital art but can't afford anything other than a paper and a regular pencil.
Non laminated display kills it for me.
If it wasn't for that this iPad would be a no brainer of a bargain.
Kevin Douglas this.
@DC The Eyepoke Champ it's not the end of the world but it bothers me enough that I would've waited till I had enough for the mini or the air.
Whats a laminated display?
Paperlike can go shove it. Sponsoring so many videos they clearly can’t sell on merit alone. Seems so desperate to me all I’m seeing are crappy sponsored videos.
I work in a tattoo shop and actually no one, really no one... Uses the paperlike
