I've been to thailand 10 times and that's exactly what I'm doing. I always choose a hotel around the area I'm going to save the time. For example, I go for 8 days. The first 4 days I will stay at a hotel in the Chinatown area because it is close to the temple. The last 4 days I will move to the Sukhumvit area to eat, shopping and be closer to the airport. I also prioritize choosing places near BTS or MRT.
Appreciate the video. Great idea to expand the area for tourists like myself who increasingly find the Sukhumvit area too touristy. More local is the key without loosing amenities.
I love this google map guiding style, l like the speed you talk and the way you explain. I can watch it again and again and share with my friends. Please make more more more like this. Thank you so much ka.
Well conceived content and superb presentation. Hats off to Chon. No other city in the world comes close to Bangkok for hotels-great value in all price ranges.
Thanks Chon! I’m watching you on the same iPad. (One of the best iPads made) I have my heart set on The Continent in Sukhumvit but will now consider all the options with the help of your video.
I love those areas you recommended, but the trouble is it is hard to go without transportation unless we drive or ride a bicycle there.. Better still if it is near the train station. Anyway, thank you so much for your video giving me some ideas for interesting places. Thank you, Chon.
Your video have really helped us plan for our holiday. We come to Bangkok in May and cant wait to visit some of the places you have recommended and shown. Thank you
Best guide i have ever seen about Bangkok visits. I was there for 10 days. Before i got there , i did not see your videos. Now i know where to go. Dezi Reddy from Los Angeles, California.
I’m going to Thailand in October 30th for 30 days. I’m solo travelling for the first time and so excited but also worried as never travelled further than Tenerife from UK 14 years ago!
Thank you so much for the informative tips. I just back from Bangkok a couple of weeks ago. I stayed at one of your recommended hotel at Sukhumvit & it's at such a strategic location. 👍🏻 Phrom Phong BTS station & EM District is just within walking distance. So convenient & I'll definitely come again.
Last November, I found a very nice studio condo near the Bang Na BTS station for $300 USD per month on Airbnb. The condo came with a fitness center, swimming pool, free wifi, and a washing machine inside the unit. The building had 24-hour security guards. The BTS ride from Bang Na to Asok was approximately 15-20 minutes which cost 50 baht ($1.40USD) one way.
We liked staying in Sathorn and on the river close to Asiatique. So quick to get to Icon Siam or China town or any other shopping districts via TukTuk and Grab Taxi ❤ I stayed in other areas when I was a kid with my parents but didn’t like it that much. Stayed in the Bayoke hotel in the 90s which is great for cheap shopping but not a fan of the area.
Love the way you present your information as well as the content you share. Super useful and helpful and relevant to what tourists need to know. Keep it up!!! ❤
Hi Chọn, can you make a video of convenient area to stay for a couple days in Bangkok before heading to the bus to Hua Hin and how to book it. Really appreciate your video.
Thx for recommended and thx for your time and effort , wondering will you introduce some local Condo for tourist rental for one monthnor weeks or Air BNB
Chon, could you do a video on the new metro/BTS line Yellow. Just a video what going on on each station or every 2 or 3 station. I saw the Yellow line on the metro map but have not rode that line yet.
first of all, I really enjoy and appreciate your videos! but in this particular one the music is so loud and distracting, that it's hard to concentrate on what you're saying.
I live in Saladaeng (around the corner from Commons). I’d recommend this neighborhood to ppl who want a mix of local and western vibes but less chaos. You can walk out 10 min to Silom rd for the nuttiness if you desire it. It’s convenient with both an MRT and BTS. Lumpini park is a 5 min walk, and the neighborhood has lots of delicious food - street food and high-end. Siam is a 5-8 min motorbike ride. Sathorn is next door with more restaurants and cafes and feels more mature (as you won’t see loud, obnoxious drunks). My gf and I saw condos in Phrom Phong and Ploen chit, and the vibe skews strongly more towards expats and less local-oriented. Thong lor, in my opinion, tries too hard to be western cool and is eye-rolling.
Could you please guide me how to reach Citrus 11 Sukhumvit hotel from Suvarnabhumi airport by train.will be really helpful if you could mention station names😊😊
Personally I like the On Nut area. One time I stayed in Rangsit. A very interesting area and experience, but not for a tourist. For a tourist I like On Nut more.
Hi.. we are travelling to Bangkok with our kid next month and have booked reno hotel near MBK.. can you give a feedback regarding the hotel .🙏thank you
Thanks Chon. Love your videos. Very helpful! What is your recommendation on traveling in a big group like 9 people. Also is it possible to go on MRT or BTS with wheelchair.
for my trip this april, I booked a hotel in the ekkamai-thonglor area. is that area safe? haha i know it's quite not center but easily accessible via BTS
This video gave me a headache because of the fast movement without a bird's eye view of each section in one snapshot first. So grateful for Chon & his videos, but this one is frustrating to watch. Headache!
Ari is nice. Hipster crowd have moved to Ari from Siam. Ari has nany nice cafed and also close to Siam and near Mo Chit (Chatuchak mkt). Ari is also more quiet than Siam area
Hi i m planning a 6 days family trip to bkk can u recommend which area to stay for easy access to local food as well as shopping complexes which are reasonably price.. and also close to bts station
If you havent gone to bkk yet, check out hotels near BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit station. Most streets in Bangkok have local food. Be careful when the hotel booking site says "near". You must always refer to the map prior to booking because sometimes the walking distance is 1km from the main road or train station. In this way too, you can know if there's a 7-11 nearby
Hi Chon, another well curated and informative video by your team that will definitely help many people in future. Well done and keep up the good work with your English practice 🎉 By the way, I was wondering if you could do a future video about "Cosmo Bazaar" in Nonthaburi, as my family is curious about that place and would like to know if it is worth a day visit. Thank you 🙏🏻

Bangkok is a city fallen from Heaven . I love Bangkok and Thai People. ❤❤❤
