Such an important lesson. I came up in the 70's & learned the Cowboy chords, Barre chords & single line blues box solo. Been into drop D the last 20 years trying to break out of the old go to habit. So modes & triads/variations/extensions of simple Drop D chords is a terrific map. Your'e grainy 'transparent tone' is really nice for the articulation.
I often use 9ths in my Drop D along with inversions. Inversions make it sound lower sometimes even though it isn't. I learned that when I used to do it with bass making a D inversion (D/A) to give illusion it was tuned down drop D when it wasn't.
I just got my first guitar (an acoustic) this past Thursday, and this video is making me wanna learn more in Drop D from where I'm in standard on it right now 😊❤
hey i was looking for any idea how to play you can run by Adam Jones and i saw that you have a couple videos on your channel about him. would you be able to help me out?
Just wondering if the Discord channel is quite active or not? I'm a Patreon member right now but not much active conversations there... Discord any different?
Drop D chord lessons are my favourite.
I agree. If he had an entire course on Drop D chords I would pay for it.
Funny you say that....
@@mitchellchurch3385Me too!

@@axeofcreation Hi, Axe of Creation, I like your video so much. Would you like to try FESLEY's electric guitar?
Drop D or Drop C# is amazing. My favourite artist is Travis Meeks by Day of the New. Amazing style.
That example you play at 12:07 reminds me of Deftones. Really cool lesson as always!

But when the Folkies use D Modal, it sounds completely different; what a versatile tool!
drop d is my favourite
Was that intro in a song? If so what song? Sounds killer
Drop d was my dead set favorite till I came across dadgad lol have any tips on dadgad for a Newby lol
Very nice. How did you get Kiesel to do the silver burst like the Gibson teardrop? Special request?
In my Drop D chords often I do the bar to get a 9th. Is that also considered a sus2? Technically I would call it a 9th.
Behold a new generation of Deftones is going to be born. Most that heard me playing add2 chords mention Deftones :D
PS. Rubs really does feel good :D
