I like all the steam engine stuff well enough but I’m looking forward to hearing this one run for sure. And I’ll bet that 2 cylinder will be even more fun to hear. Thanks JW.
Can’t wait to stop by. Sometime and hear them running might see me in august when I go to Fayetteville to see my folks. Love your content any and all of it.
Man oh man, you had me on the edge of my seat when you were pulling that engine onto the truck, and then driving out of there I was panicking that lose traction and start spinning or else hit a bump sideways and go over. You are a real master.
Dad operated a two cylinder Fairbanks on a rock crushing plant,”lost” the flywheel….pieces everywhere!Dug a flywheel out of a field in Arkansas, hauled it back to Jefferson county Missouri, installed it,up and operating in less than a week!@65 years ago.Flathead ford v8 was used as a starter.lol
Good to see the new wrecker under load. Job well done. The Fairbanks-Morse engines were used early in the fishing industry here in the Pacific Northwest. Fishtrap days and freight hauler going up the coast. Direct reversible, is what I hear..
No you're right. Nobody needs a one cylinder 12,000 lb semi-diesel engine that is 9 ft tall. Yeah nobody needs that but well nobody really needs it until you hear about it or see it and then it's like you got to have it. Excellent video. Keep up the great work sir
Fairbanks & Morse , still in business , been in business for a LONG time . That was a sweet load test of the Brand New American Made Jonathan Rig . Boy Howdy ! Like you , Brother , it did not disappoint . If I ever build a Pyramid , you are the man I'll talk to . The Fairbanks are some of the simplest diesel engine there are . We had vertical opposing engines on our ship , Navy . Dual crank , 8 & 12 cylinder , pistons met in the middle where the injectors were . The 12's had turbo chargers (mains) , & all had 3 phase generators on them . They sounded like a rock slide rolling over , air start by hand . 1st roll over , pressure reliefs open . 2nd one was fire in the hole . They ran fine , as long as you had fuel , 24/7 if you wanted to . "Do I need 3 of them , do I even need 1 ?" Well , it wouldn't surprise me , if they ran . You are the Engine Whisperer in those parts . The rig looks , works , & drives , awesome ! Weld test , 12K pounds +/- . Passed . Once off of the wood , it was pretty silent . Sweet . God bless , you & yours . P.S. Ours were about 15 ft. tall , mains . about 12 ft. tall on the 8's . The deck was about 6' under the injectors , for servicing & starting . The priming roll over , would gas the whole engine room space with diesel mist . We had 2 engine rooms , 4 mains , 6 ship service . About as long , as they were tall , but only wide at the cranks , 1 below the deck , 1 at the top , over head . The cylinder section was only around 3' to 2.5' wide in the middle , respectively . Heck , you can probably still get repair kits . Lol .
Welcome to my county Jonathan! Glad you were able to purchase things from JMc. He is good friends with a friend of mine and seems to.beva good man! I enjoy your videos..again welcome to my county!!
very good Jonathan was with a friend that bought a 50hp Fairbanks Morse out of a auction in Lexington NC that was running. had all org equipment. org, air compressor and tanks etc. Went to Bluemont, VA and then was returned back to NC to be put back in service . What a treasure trove you found. G🤗ood luck thanks for your video and channel. 🤗
Something So Cool ------- Using A Machine That U Built With Your Own Hands ------- A Treet Not Many People Get To Experience In Their Lifetimes -------- U Are A Lucky / Blessed Man ------- Take Your Pick Great Video .
The truck worked out nice. You did a great job on it. This is going to be another video to watch from you starting it. Good Luck getting the other ones out too
just wait until you get that thing fired up. the hotbulb fairbanks engines make some wonderful noises, and you can feel them fire for a long, long way away from how hard they shake the ground.
Ivory soap, a old timer that used to raise and move houses taught me you can move anything with only Ivory soap, I worked with Him and it really works, no other soap can do that...
This switch to all electric might work for a good many but here in alaska, not much sun and lots of rain, freezing yet here nights. This engine will run anywhere and make power for anything needed. Just need to be willing to learn new things, as maybe you remember me, now seventy four and not really any experience as operating one of them
That's one tall engine what's the rated hp? I worked on an old fishing boat with a 6 cylinder Morse Fairbanks making 600 hp @ 500 RPM no transmission to have reverse you had to change the wire on the magneto then crank the engine backwards the engine was approx 12 feet long .this was a 125 ft dragger out of Gloucester Massachusetts the boat's name was the Sarah M
👍👌👏 Congratulations! 🎉 That's one heck of a rollback! Did the 12.000 lbs job as if it was nothing. Highly impressive. Very well built, Sir, very well built indeed. You're definitely more brave than I am. I would not have had the courage to not put at least one middle support under the end of the bed while pulling the heavy beast of a machine on it. This shows even more the quality of your build. 2) Did I hear right? You don't want to keep all 3 of the antique gasoline engines? Am I actually watching the right channel!? 😁 ;-) 3) Of course I'm eagerly looking forward to watch the loading of the rest of all the stuff. As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health in particular.
Well that one looks nice Johnboy and you have two more to get and can't wait to see them when they are finished and by the way stay safe and keep the videos coming in.
If you have one, you may as well have three. Beautiful piece of history and engineering, thanks for saving, can't wait to see it run
Wow! You built a rig that will do it. Pulled that on like it was rusted out Rambler. Great job sir!!!
Glad the new wrecker is working out well.
Holy grail of old engines
Wow! What a smooth move. They could use your talents in Baltimore!!!!!
Welds held, engine ran good, great job Jonathan!! Can't wait to see that Fairbanks run. Really neat old engines!!
Love to see the old equipment
Your sounding Healthier everyday Jonathan, CONGRATS on your "Finds"!!!! Meow to NaNa !!!
You built a strong rollback and it did the job for you with flying colors.
New wrecker earned it's keep. Looks like more good old iron on that property that needs saving.
Great use for the new wrecker!
Looking Foward to hear that engine run !
Awesome old engine's. The wrecker did great as well. Y'all take care.
Made that look. Easy, two cylinder version will be good , thanks for sharing Jonathan
Haven't commented in awhile, been watching though. SUPPER COOL!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!!
New wrecker did well, didn't expect otherwise. And man, what a chunk of metal that engine is. Wonderfull 😃
Cool finds!
I like all the steam engine stuff well enough but I’m looking forward to hearing this one run for sure. And I’ll bet that 2 cylinder will be even more fun to hear. Thanks JW.
my heart was in my mouth as the engine started to move from its platform! shouldnt have worried, you knew what you were doing!
Good acquisition. The 'new' truck works well. It climbed out of that grass field well enough when things were damp.
You are man of history and saving it to sure, Great job Jonathan, your truck did it job!
Can’t wait to stop by. Sometime and hear them running might see me in august when I go to Fayetteville to see my folks. Love your content any and all of it.
impressive loading it , good video
Man oh man, you had me on the edge of my seat when you were pulling that engine onto the truck, and then driving out of there I was panicking that lose traction and start spinning or else hit a bump sideways and go over. You are a real master.
Really enjoy your vids J, that rollback mech is butter smooth, lovely job
I'm always ready for a new episode! Thank you.

Amazing Journey, Jonathan. Thanks for the rides!!!
Never had a doubt, you do great work JW!!!!

Those Fairbanks are really nice engines. Nice score .
Great job on that new rollback

Glad the shrapnel didn't wipe him out!
Well Conservator, now you have saved MORE iron from the recycle. Congrats on the wrecker bed fabrication work.
You need as many as possible!! Stationary diesels are awesome. I'd pay to come see them at your museum any day
Way to go, Jonathan! You are my hero fixing stuff! Amazing talent!
Gonna learn allot bout diesel engines now. Thanks for the videos.
Good to see the new wrecker under load. Job well done. The Fairbanks-Morse engines were used early in the fishing industry here in the Pacific Northwest. Fishtrap days and freight hauler going up the coast. Direct reversible, is what I hear..
If they are reversible, that is a big deal at a show. Watch this...!
Hearing those birds chirping reminded me of some of my younger days coming home after a very late evening fishing 😊
Absolutely love your channel. From the project builds to the old engines!!!
What an amazing move! Bet your heart was in your mouth when it went across the 'bridge'.
How cool is that? Wowee!
Would love to see you get a steam calliope and wake the neighbors😂.
Hey Jonathan another good video you'll love a the diesel motor will you have a nice day my friend
I'm interested in learning more about them too

The rollback looks like it performs well. Another old engine saved. Thanks for sharing.👍🇺🇸
The "Man who dies with the most toys Wins" 👍👍🇦🇺😎
These engineers and their innovations! Knew there had to be a reason you built that trailer so well reinforced. Had a job in mind!
I like that blue back, you can see what is on it. Everything is darker, and camouflages with black.
Thanks for the ride.
The video was fine! Thanks for taking us along!
I love that new engine, always wanted one of those.
Those are neat old engines. Thresheree grounds near me has a 1 through 6 cylinders engines all in a roll . Symco Thresheree.
Those are neat engines!
There are several later ones in our area, just love to listen to them.

What a cool machine and I'm looking forward to watching you learn it and run it.
Now you're acquiring Fairbanks - Morse engines! That is a HUGE WIN! Keep every one of them that you can buy and get them running. I am so happy.
just wait until you get that thing fired up. the hotbulb fairbanks engines make some wonderful noises, and you can feel them fire for a long, long way away from how hard they shake the ground.
Been here in Asheville NC this past week on vacation and the rain the last few days has been substantial. Great job in this inclement weather.
Nice piece of history Jonathan!
That was one heck of a test on your truck. Good show.
Love the videos. I am looking forward to more when you have the time. All my very best.
Ivory soap, a old timer that used to raise and move houses taught me you can move anything with only Ivory soap, I worked with Him and it really works, no other soap can do that...

Do you know why all this stuff is out behind on this property?
Yes, a long-time collector passed away, his son is a very good guy, and I have been buying a few pieces from him.
