  • After Jack's failed attempt at taking his Aprilia Tuareg on the rough and demanding trails of his work commute just outside Nowra, We're back in one of our favourite places: the dealership front lot. We headed to Sydney to test a couple of promising looking adventure bikes we hadn't yet thrown a let over. In this episode we take the extremely wallet friendly but very well equipped CFMoto 800MT & the all new, highly anticipated 450MT on a test ride to see if these low cost, high offering bikes from one of China's largest vehicle manufacturers feel as good as the name brands we all know and love, and whether the big names better get out of their comfort zone before they're overrun.
    Are they any good? do they offer the build quality and support we've all come to expect? These are the things we want to know!
    Shoutout to Crossland Powersports in Mulgrave for fitting us in for a test ride and moving bikes around to make it happen!
    We are not affiliated with CFMoto (obviously) or the dealer, we test rode these bikes on our own time and our opinions are based on our combined 20 years riding experience covering a vast majority of adventure motorcycles.
    Stay tuned for Part 2!

    I got a 650 adventura in the us 3 days ago. Im a 1st time rider. For the price im in love.The gps brakes and bags are great. Maintenance is pretty much do it yourself. The seat isnt comfortable for long rides (2hours plus) but there not terrible. The heat soak at the legs and the boggy power around 2-3k is a bit annoying. But a tiger or versays is almost 2xs as much. The cf also has good breaks on the adventura. I thought id regret buying chinese but i love it. Maintenance is easy

    Great interaction guys. I've been waiting for the Versys 400, 500 and now Hybrid for a couple of years now. Looks like I'll have to get the 450MT instead.
    Oh and OTA update is a great technology.

    You both made a good few comparisons between KTM, Husqvarna, and such. What's interesting is the connection between KTM and CFMOTO in terms of engine manufacturing that you guys noted, yet somehow, and this is can be seen as an opinion, but CFMOTO seems to make bikes with more entertaining engines specifically that 450, with better tech, and seems to be easier to approach for most people. What do you think is something they're missing that they don't already have?

      Honestly, i dont think they're missing anything. Their marketing is strong and they've really got a product to back it up. Thats the first time we'd ridden that 450 engine in anything and as you saw, we were extremely impressed by it. They are definitely making approachable, affordable bikes loaded with features without sacrificing a bit of excitement and i can absolutely see why the big names are scrambling to make competitors, they should be worried.

      @@valiantares4530 cf makes ktm engines like the 800. Ktm doesn't make them there all made by cf. The 650 adventura is a direct copy of a kawi versays just detuned. I have a 650 adventura. Good bike can do most of the work yourself. Cf is also in collaboration with yamaha and kawasaki.

    Did you say lighter? The 450MT is wet weight very similar to the tuareg

    • @JayHenderson749
      @JayHenderson749  27 днів тому +1

      @@droflivelife i've since found that out. It does feel like the 450 carry's its weight lower, its seat height is substantially lower than the aprilia and does make it seem lighter. It certainly doesn't feel heavy.

      @@JayHenderson749I was gonna say the the wet weight of the 450mt is 5kg ish lighter than the tuareg so really close and the tuareg has cruise control, better suspension and a quick shifter and better rider ergonomic's, so the tuareg seems better on paper. I own a tuareg and absolutely love it but want something lighter for off road stuff. Weight wise it's not much lighter but being the 450 is half the price (here in the USA) it's really really tempting to try one.....🤔

      @@nscott26 the tuareg is about $23k here vs the 450MT's $9,990 so it'd wanna be better 😂 definitely a more capable and feature rich bike but for either a less experienced rider or someone who wants a bush basher thats capable both on the trail and on the way home but doesnt wanna trash a $20k+ bike its looking like a great option

      @@JayHenderson749 I agree for the money it looks really good. I also own a 300 rally, I've been wondering if you could stuff the 450 mt engine in the 300 rally, I might have to try that! Although the 300 rally isn't that comfortable to ride the road to get to the dirt.
