Well. My mother and her family were separated. My grandmother trusted my uncle (age 9) with a group of teenagers to cross the border first. And the successfully did it getting away with the Coyotes (smuggler) but my mother and gramma weren’t as lucky...
They were thrown in jail 4 times until the coyotes threatened to not help them any longer if they didn’t make it the last time....
So on their last attempt, my mother age 5, with a twisted ankle and around 5 other immigrants attempted to cross, one last time.... The coyote told my mom to keep running “And Don’t Look Back” so she didn’t.....
I’m not goin to get into detail about the funny stuff or how a 15 year old was put i the trunk just so they could get away... But... I think... I KNOW
