If you want it darker use less water and more dye ...if you don't use more water to make it lighter
Leaving them in longer definitely makes the color darker I’ve done a few pairs since watching
I just dyed shoes but I want it to be darker. Do I leave it overnight in the dye, and does it still need to be hot?

If I use a smaller "bucket" to die the shoes, could I do away with using less than a while bottle of rit dye? Like half or quarter of the bottle will that work as well?

how did it go?
I ended up doing it for 30 mins submerged. And rinsed them and they were fairly “light” not what I was wanting so the next day once they was dry I did them for 20 mins holding them under by hand upside down and once finished I just let them drain and shook them out a little and stuffed with rags and let sit “no rinsing” and air dry over night. Then I rinsed and air dried another over night. Turned out awesome. Very sapphire blue. Make sure to remove glue stains. Use a black light to easily see the glue stains remove with acetone they will dye darker then anything else will. And the laces I went with a deeper royal blue lace to set it off.

Hopefully someone can help, I have a pair of black leather Air Max 95s. They have a white line down the side in leather and then a purple line in a nubuck/suede type material. The tongue is also purple, it’s a mesh I believe. Could I use black dye on them straight up? Or what would be the best way to make them all black?
The salt opens the pores of the leather, therefor you have to remove factory finish or any other polish on the shoes
How do you do that or does the salt do it? Also can you dye any shoes or just all leather shoes
@@norsco28 you use 100% acetone and a cotton ball to rub off the factory finish

Acrylic shoe paint is best
Angelus acrylic leather paint. NEVER SHARPIE OR MARKER
Question: If you dye shoes, if you put tape somewhere you don’t want it to get dye on, will the dye go through the tape and paint it or will the tape protect the part that you covered?

did you take the factory finish off? that’s probably why some spots are darker. just rub the pair down with a cotton swab and acetone. Before dyeing
