A short grocery haul for September! I made some great low spend meals from my freezer and pantry instead of spending on groceries this month! Stay tuned this weekend for the meals I made to keeps the budget down this month! Low Spend Freezer/Pantry Challenge coming soon! I hope that you are all staying safe in Florida tonight! 🧡🧡
Awesome! I found ground cherries for sale in GREENLAND! I was so amazed! I don't even see them in the stores here and they were importing them in Greenland! So cool!
We drink a lot of coffee in our home, and buy 6 x 4L a milk a month. So our monthly bill for that alone is $38.94 (@ $6.49 each). We don't have a garden, or buy take out food (we have a $15 budget a month for that). Our monthly average for 2024 is $266.15. That also includes our toiletries, cleaning supplies, OTC meds, and cat food/litter/treats. You are doing excellent !
That's amazing kathryn! We do have an entertainment budget that covers take out or food out of the house and I haven't included toiletries or paper products and we don't currently have a pet (unless you count feeding the birds...which I guess SHOULD count because peanuts are pretty pricy!) So your budget is sooo good!
At least double it! I am always amazed at how much further our groceries go with only the two of us here now that our three kids have flown the nest! lol Now it's just me doing all the snacking :P
So wish we could be that low on groceries, but that amount of blueberries would cost us almost double what you paid. We also have only three grocery stores and Walmart to shop at.
The blueberries are even cheaper if you can go to a U-Pick but we aren't close enough to those here :( It's so much cheaper to buy things in season and it does definitely help having a few grocery stores locally competing for prices!
@@JessicaWanders well, I'm just now getting caught up on the three freezer challenge videos. I refuse to watch this weeks until I go back and watch the two that I've already missed. So, we'll see if it's a spoiler. :-)
I'm waiting for the job fairy to rain down on me for the past few months and have $0 to spend on groceries. I'm soooo glad that past me hoarded a bunch of foods because i'm getting through. I spent $35 at the beginning of August and have been able to get through... it's getting a little sparse but I have a well stocked spice pantry and LOTS of dried beans of all kinds. I'm almost out of cheese.. just a block of cream cheese and i'm not sure what to do with it. I only have brown sugar and honey for sweeteners and only a few tablespoons of butter left. My sweet friend sent me 20 little bags of fideo and a 15 pound bag of basmati rice. At least I have rice and pasta? lol
I do hope that they job fairy comes through for you soon! It is such a safety net to have a well stocked pantry and those spices can make all the difference! Ack! Butter might be the emergency...

Love it!! Great idea!
Glad to see a new video tonight. I binge watched your old videos for hours today and yesterday. Looking forward to the new challenge videos.
Hi!! I'm pretty excited about a new focus too! The first one is just about ready to go up :)
That is all you bought for a whole month?? oh boy.. That is what my kid eats and drinks in a few days lol.
Haha! Well, I am working with a few freezers and a pantry **and the garden** 😆 We mostly use milk for coffee and the cream for yogurt.
I was getting worried about you. I missed you! Welcome back :)
Glad to be here! Looking forward to the end of renovations haha
i feel like kids double the bill with all their constant snacking lol

Yes, growing requires lots of fuel - and sleep

VERY low spend year~!
It has been in the grocery department! It’s been a bit high spend in other areas! 😜
6.5 lbs (ish) of blueberries for $25 CDN ($18 USD) is a screaming deal!
It WAS a great deal and thankfully they weren’t in my main freezer…hopefully not a spoiler 🤪

I'll watch for your comments on this week's later Roxanne!
@@JessicaWanders I just started Week #3 and came back here to say, "OUCH!!!" That's awful.
@@roxanne533 OMG Right?? It's been a real wrench in my plans for the fall :( Just need to take stock and regroup though I think...

Hope you can find some food banks in your area to assist you!
Does the total include the $21 challenges?
OoOooOohhh I don’t think so! I’ll have to add those up and add it to the next haul! Good catch 👍👍
