Hitler emphasized that if you repeat the same statement enough, it effectively becomes a truth- not *the* truth, but *a* truth, as many people will believe it as if it were true. Added to that, where they say "An invasion is coming, but when will it start?" well, to them, the incoming *invasion* was both from the East (the Soviets- real and true monsters of the human variety), and also from the North and West, as in the Western Allies in the D-Day Invasion... and that was most certainly coming.

If Stauffenberg had a deal (ex. secretly agreed in advance with western allies) that killing Hitler would enable separatist surrender on the western front AND continue defending the eastern front, than I would concider him a responsible man. Otherwise, he was just weakening his country's army for nothing, at the cost of many civilians lost to soviet murderers.

Other than doing a lot of city walking to stumble upon the right place and time, nothing else was necessary. Please read some sources if you are genuinely interested in history. Civilian during war means mostly children, women and the elderly. Does that make no difference to you? Is killing the prisoners of war right? Is eradicating the entire villages or towns by massacring all their inhabitants too? To me those are crimes.
