Hi! With standard houseplants, I put them straight in water or soil. I treat them a bit more like I would garden plants or flowers (like if I had flowers, I would trim them fresh so they can better take up water when in a vase) - so I do the same with cuttings, so they can still take up water until they get roots (that's my logic anyway!). However, I do let succulents callous before doing anything with them. I do sometimes get rot too, so it's a bit of a numbers game. 🌱
You don’t wait until the cutting callouses over before potting it or putting it in water? If I don’t, mine rot.
