They have concessions in motogp and wsbk. They had private tests etc recently. They r pushing but euro bikes are dominating ALL motorsport right now. Actually kawa was better cause the wsbk engine rules now allow them to get more top end. I think the R1 is limited in what they can push out of it in its current form. Japanese need to get serious or itll be Ducatti/bmw/ktm dominating next decade

Hopefully you can give yourself time to get used to the Yamaha and soon be back where you want to be at the front, I remember how you used to ride the Honda Fireblade a decade ago always having to make up the time on the corners. I'm 100% you will be there very soon.

What, that Yamaha is a championship winning bike. He must be wondering how Toprak braked on it. The rider seems to make difference in WSBK, Ionnone comes back and is fighting for podiums ahead of Petrucci and other ducati riders. Toprak joins BMW and gets it 1st and 2nd places where it has never been
When racers stop winning, they search for the answer's to why, mainly the bike and riding style adaption. But often it's the uncomfortable fact that they've had their day, to many crashes and the unconscious self preservation gene kicks in without knowing it, pushing that last tenth of a lap.
