    Just bought the busker today and I was torn between these two. So I really appreciate this video.
    Follow up: This thing blew away my wildest expectations. This whistle is a game changer. You should need a security clearance to handle the busker. It has more power volume and bottom end than a flute. This is not your average whistle. Wow!
    2nd follow up. I went ahead and bought the cobre as well. I like them both. Cobre is for medium loud sessions. Busker is when I have an accordion sitting to my right and a highland piper sitting to my left. I pull back a little so the highland piper can still be heard.

      Hello, what is the outer and inner diameter of the tube

    • @EricOwensFlute
      @EricOwensFlute 2 роки тому

      @@romanmanko6473 I don’t know but a regular straight bore whistle fits loosely inside the busker. It’s probably 1/3 larger diameter than a regular straight bore whistle.

      The busker is well made-it’s a BAZOOKA of a whistle!
      At 16mm inner bore diameter, I think it’s the biggest diameter high D whistle. The low octave is super easy. The high octave, once you get to high A especially, requires a lot of volume. Not for the faint-hearted. I would not recommend this model to a newcomer, but instead to someone who is confident enough to really belt it out

    Recently received my Chieftan V5 tunable Low D. Chuffed to bits with it. Was practicing for ages on a Dixon polymer-type job, and the Chieftan just has so much character and volume. Takes more air on the higher notes, but that was expected. I will probably have to come back for the smaller whistles as well. Both of those sound lovely.

    Thank you for the video. I'm a beginner, and trying to learn more before I invest in a better whistle. I do like soft and sweet, so I appreciate knowing the Cobre may be for me.

    I am surprised how these high Ds are chirpy but not screechy as heck. Kinda reminds me of how the thinner reeds would produce less solid sounds than the thicker reed with my clarinet.
