Centenarian Rev Zupelhi Mero from Lekromi Village in Phek district has literally proved that age is just a number. At 101, he is still enthusiastic about life and remains busy weaving baskets, playing flute, and running his own nursery.
Ne-8 powered by Nagaland Post caught up with him to learn more about his life journey on his recent trip to Dimapur.
Born to Khachuno Mero and Thsulo-ü Mero on May 28, 1923 at Lekromi village, Rev Zupelhi Mero is truly a proof of how legends are made of. He is still able to read the Bible without glasses, with minor hearing problem.
Prior to his retirement in 1994, he served as an evangelist and pastor in different capacities under the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC). He served CBCC for 20 years and as a full-time pastor for 24 years. He was granted a licence to minister in 1957 and ordained in 1977.
Maried to Eso-u on January 14, 1948, his wife predeceased him in 2008. He has eight children - five sons and three daughters with 38 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

God bless him but he's clearly not 100+ years. My late father also had a prolonged life. He was born before first WW and at one point in his life was also taken by the Japanese soldiers as translator. He survived both first and second WW. And recieved many medals. He passed away recently of old ripe age. My late father's peers all passed away early and he was the only one left. And I could tell by looking at my father, the man in the video is clearly not 100+. When a person reaches 90 the physical takes a toll and also since back then birthdays weren't recorded the age is added on their own . Ps don't take my comment as negative.😊
My grandmother was 106 when she died n she looks the same as this grandfather's health n conditions..our physical appearance depends on one's diet and exercise..those days they don't apply anything on their face not even soaps n if u watch the video u will hear him saying about diet that keeps him fit too
I don't no what kinda world ur living in but da why ur analysing about this gentleman is very orthodox just bcuz he doesn't luk 100+ doesn't mean he isn't it's just dt he's maintaining himself very well which is very important for daily basis so u can't critic someone based on how da look
