The last house was beautiful. The corner lot offered a lot of curb appeal. We made a mistake building a bigger house after our house fire. I now regret having four thousand square feet to take care off. Our home has three and a half baths and five bedrooms. There are only my hubby and I and his mother, dad passed a few years ago. They moved in with us back in 2008 due to health issues. We love our home but it is a lot to take care of. Good luck on your house hunting. You will know which one is right for you.
I love the house with the orange room! I don’t care for the grey carpet with it. The Erie bathroom scared me though.😉 I would be so stressed looking at homes. I’m going with the last home. The selling point for any house for me would be the window placements. I’ve always liked the corner windows over the sink👍
I watched you as you climbed those stairs, that's a concern. I vote for a 1-story home. Learn about the housing inner workings, the basics electricity, plumbing all the things. Please pray about it before you and David make a final decision. I'm praying for you. ❤
Thanks for sharing your journey. I share a similar one when my first home ever burned down as well. I felt your struggle. But the upside is shopping for a new one. I am glad you are sharing your experiences with me. Enjoy and good luck.
#4 was my favorite. Also, put on your seatbelt before the car even starts! My sister was killed because she didn't have her seatbelt on. She was 19 years old.
I vote for #5. It has a lot of personality and beautiful sunlight coming through. The kitchen is very attractive and the upstairs playroom would be great for the grand kids. It would be nice to have your master on the main floor (as you age…). David is correct, it is very charming and appears quite solid.
House #5 is the one I would pick….it’s charming, master bedroom on first level, corner lot, nice yard, large room upstairs for grandchildren to play, also grandchildren could sleep in sleeping bags in the same room, nice kitchen, close to where you lived before. House #2…the pine trees are a no, they drip sticky sap, pine needles & pinecones are messy & too much of a risk of the trees falling during a storm. The best thing I saw though was David’s pink 🩷 socks when he walked upstairs 😊
I normally wouldn't comment, however, since you are asking.. I love the curb appeal of #5 plus it had some nice trees landscaped out in front and some nice flowering smaller trees in the backyard. The front beds could use some more landscaping against the front of the house - but that's fun and easy to do. House #2 had the pine tree that will always ruin your lawn - not a lot you can do about that. You seem to do a lot with your family - distance is something to really consider. In the end, do what feels best for you both and your families. It's easy to be an armchair critic from where we sit. LOL
Just a thought because I’m about 10 years older than you. If you want to stay in this house as your forever house considering a downstairs master bedroom is a really good idea.
I felt like the last house suited your personalities, and had the character you were looking for. The larger house will cost more to heat and cool and work on. The corner house felt comfy to me. 😊
#5 had more charm and character. I don't know how property taxes are in TX but I know here in MI the bigger the house the bigger the tax bill. When you were looking through house 5 I had the feeling you looked more comfortable~ Plus a corner lot is great! Good luck
I can't even think about keeping a 3,500 sq.ft. house clean. I liked the house with the stairs at the back, and this last one. I know different parts of the country housing prices vary A LOT, but that last house would be $1.3 million easy in my town.
I’ve bought 14 houses for whatever my experience is worth. #1 no separate shower in master bath? Very small kitchen with limited storage, why hide a wet bar? No # 2 love that utility room. Master downstairs is great. Extra rooms upstairs are a bonus. 2 fireplaces! Exterior and yard nice. Wonderful house. #3 love that family room with the bar. No to shared driveway. Too much updating needed. No. #4love the floors. Double ovens. You’ll like that stove. I have one. Big formal dining. Love the front door. Master down is great, huge closets. Yard is fine. #5 Love the exterior. Yes to everything else! Huge formal dining for all the family. Like the back entry and yard is great. Wonderful house. Unique. Well obviously #2 and #5 are my favorites. #6 closest to old house we didn’t see. Quit worrying about the 45 min drive!! Truly you can’t go wrong with either of the houses you like. Just my two cents but be careful not to look at too many houses. You can get so confused, overwhelmed. I think you’ve found 2 winners. To compromise, if one of you has a serious objection about something in either house, that should weigh heavily in your decision. You both want to be happy. If you don’t need the second look, decide quickly and make an offer so it doesn’t get away. I’m excited for you. Both are lovely homes!
Happy house hunting. I could never make up my mind-your decision will be perfect, no worries. Great prices - here on West Coast no selection, high prices. Our neighborhood doesn’t look spiffy but we love living on the river, everybody minds their own business, only 5 minutes drive to the grocery store. Couldn’t be happier. Just put on a new roof. Glad that’s done.
#2 and #5 are my favorite! I like #2 best!!! Remember as you get older, stairs are not your friend!! Master on the main floor is best!!, Remember NEVER NEVER NEVER get an HOA tho!!!!!!!
After seeing all the houses in this video I feel that number five the last house was my favorite. It still seem very big and able to accommodate your large family on holidays. Still seem to have plenty of room for grandkids and relatives to stay. Also like that it had a little 70s vibe. The fact that it was close to your old home there’s also a bonus. You both I know will make the right decision! Thank you for taking us along.🎉
the maximum number of bathrooms i want to clean is 2. no more! lol. Although if one is a rarely used guest bathroom then not a problem. Around here houses like those run 800,000 nowI , a smaller 1940s house in town now sold for almost 700,000.Such a change from our farming days just 10 years ago! such is what the move to remote work with people from NYC has wrought on our community.
I liked both #2 and #5. Both your style. If you have a choice would it matter if you’re closer to family or not? Getting older sucks. But do what makes you the happiest because this will be your forever home. Good Luck😉🙏😊
I love house #2! That huge room upstairs is amazing! House #5 might be better for y’all because it’s so much closer. Y’all have a big decision to make! My prayers are with you! Thanks for sharing your journey! ♥️🙏🏼♥️
Regarding carrying things up and down the stairs: The plan is to convert the garage into the "UA-cam Room" which means covering the concrete, insulation, sheetrock, lighting and a split unit for A/C and heat.
Every house I bought I made a list of pro's and con's to help me with my final decision. Your two top choices are great. Talk it out, embrace your decision and don't look back!
Girl I am just going to tell you what you told me when I want 70's stuff in my kitchen ~ "You cant put that stuff in a modern kitchen like that, it's too nice" 🤣🤣😉
Focus on where you will be spending the majority of your time. If you entertain a lot a large kitchen is a must, because people tend to gravitate to the kitchen to hang out. Love #5….I’m a 70’s style girl.

Love number 2 . We are in the process of making our house more one level living . I like that most of the homes you have looked at have a main floor masters with walk-in showers . Good luck in finding your forever home.
I have a Big house . I have a monster yard . I will be 68 years old very soon . I do the cleaning and the yard work my self . It’s all about what you want . And what you are happy with the rest of your life .
One It was kind of chopped up. Very nice from the outside. Two Was certainly big enough. Three had a very nice kitchen. Love all the windows Four was my favorite. Nice entrance. Nice back yard😊
Your never too old to have a bigger house. Go for the one you love and feel is home. I'm 70 and if a big old victorian came up you bet I would make sure my husband and I would try to buy it. Listen to your wife you will never hear the end of it just like my poor husband.
#5. It's always about location location location... 😊 You can always build on if need be but it would be more expensive to move if the driving from the other place didn't work out later. This house seems to fit your personalities and has a yard ready to go. (#2 had those pine trees.. a minus) I like the warmth and coziness vibes this #5 gives off. Inside and out. Sometimes a 2nd walk through helps to decide.
I like #2 out of this selection. I hate vacuuming carpeted stairs. I prefer a one story rancher and a private yard. It has to feel cozy without neighbors looking down in my yard from their 2-story house! Lol
Just not thrilled with stairs. A ranch house with a guest house/mother-in-law house for your UA-cam business would be perfect. Prayers for your search. 🙏🏻

@33:04. 🙄Yeahuhhp. Can't un-hear that. And now it's on YT for all time. #4 House;...I liked the intro from the outside walk up too. 🤔That double oven location in a pass through didn't seem feng shui. 🤔. I did like the front far parlor off the living room and kitchen. And yes, not being introduced immediately to a stairway to what to me is the removed more personal space of the house makes more sense. Yes, the first floor seemed open and welcoming but enough turns that it's not too open that the unexpected visitors see all the way through. Yeah. I liked that too. I rate it Worth considering. The office/library off foyer to the opposing living spaces but convenient to entrance? I like that. Now, I see one master bdrm down and far left too, beyond that office side of house. That felt separate and convenient. I like that too Hmm? Needs a few things? Great!!! Use for price negotiation. I am leaning towards #4. I am. Umm? Lots of extra elbow room? Lots of extra cleaning. 🤔🫵. I don't see a maid. LoL.
Were there 4 or 5 houses? House #1 reminds me of a flip. Mismatched hollow core doors. Walls have rough spots like they were poorly repaired. #2 is nice. #3 Can't remember because they are all grey inside. #4 I like wood floors. Carpet holds humidity and odors. I like the yard. I know that you like to use the garage for a UA-cam room. Could you extend the garage forward for a garage? #5 I like as much as #4. Love the added room in attic for kids. I really like the interior layout of #5 because it is different. Remember to consider fenced in backyards for Jack Jack. Love the curb appeal of #5. Nobody has ever said "I have too much room". Easier to keep a larger house neat because there is more storage space. Small works if you have no kids or grandkids. How much longer before you retire? Don't base your decision on a job location that will last only 5 yrs or less.
5th house is classic 70s and has the windows you like. Nice yard and trees.
Love #5 built in 1977 when houses were built to last
Enjoy your new journey ❤
Also liked the 2nd house.
I really liked the layout of house 4
Corner Lot house is adorable....1977 was a good year🧡🎃
The last house was beautiful. The corner lot offered a lot of curb appeal. We made a mistake building a bigger house after our house fire. Nothing wrong with 4th house. Looks great.
My favorite was #4.
I love the house with the orange room! I don’t care for the grey carpet with it. The Erie bathroom scared me though.😉
I would be so stressed looking at homes. I’m going with the last home. The selling point for any house for me would be the window placements. I’ve always liked the corner windows over the sink👍
House #5, hands down!🎉
I watched you as you climbed those stairs, that's a concern. I vote for a 1-story home. Learn about the housing inner workings, the basics electricity, plumbing all the things. Please pray about it before you and David make a final decision. I'm praying for you. ❤
#2 seems like it has a lot of your check marks and more character. The last one was nice. I like the downstairs masters.
Thanks for sharing your journey. I share a similar one when my first home ever burned down as well. I felt your struggle. But the upside is shopping for a new one. I am glad you are sharing your experiences with me. Enjoy and good luck.
Thanks for sharing!!
I really really like the whole package with Davie's 9 rating for this last corner property house. Charming .
Me too, but TamTam has to be the happiest. If she isn’t happy, I won’t happy! ❤️🫶🏼
I like the one with the bonus room upstairs, great for all the grandkids.
2nd is great, you can always paint any place. Fixtures are easy to change.
My TamTam looks so CUTE CUTE!!!
YES! Just as I read your comment I was saying that in my head! Actually she’s beautiful.
2 and 5. Loved the light coming in the windows in number 5 :) also love all the latticed windows in the different houses :)
#4 was my favorite. Also, put on your seatbelt before the car even starts! My sister was killed because she didn't have her seatbelt on. She was 19 years old.
@@irishgirl3407 Thank you and so very sorry to hear about your sister :( We’ll be more careful about that!
I vote for #5. It has a lot of personality and beautiful sunlight coming through. The kitchen is very attractive and the upstairs playroom would be great for the grand kids. I liked this first house.
TamDa, I see you in house #5... the last house you toured... The one built in 77'... That's my gut reaction and I am sticking to it, lol!
House nr. 5 is very cozy. Has good vibes. That's my favorite. 😊

I liked the last house best , but what I need and what you need and want are very different.
I like the #5 Sunlight master bedroom on main floor. As you age. If this is your forever home.
Just a thought because I’m about 10 years older than you. If you want to stay in this house as your forever house considering a downstairs master bedroom is a really good idea.
Agree! If you are experiencing any knee or back issues stairs can be a struggle
Tam I love your sunglasses 😎
@@kathytappero7179 I like that idea of a downstairs bedroom suite
I live in a cape cod 1bedroom down 3up with full bath. I am 88 and happy I do not have to go stairs.
BEAUTIFUL! The marble island is gorgeous & the fireplaces.....💥WOW💥
I felt like the last house suited your personalities, and had the character you were looking for. The larger house will cost more to heat and cool and work on. The corner house felt comfy to me. 😊

#5 !
#5 I love it

#5 ……yes the green counter💚. We live on a corner lot., love it because you don’t feel boxed in. More curb appeal. Good luck in your journey.
I vote for a master on main too. Guests can stay upstairs. 👍🏻👍🏻
#2 is good for space. Which, when you live with others, can be beneficial and simply needed.
I liked #5. Love the corner lot, bedroom downstairs. The neighborhood looked really nice as well. The 4 th house was too close to neighbors.
#2! #2! #2! Your faces lit-up and shone when you were speaking about it! It's beautiful👍😊. You'll decide on the right one for sure👍❤😊
#5 is the only one that looks like a Tammy & David house. #2 is great on the inside but the outside is blah.
Love the glasses & blouse Tammy.
Both #2 and #5 are great, but #2 is our favorite--seems to be the best deal for the money. 🥰🙏
