The beatboxer is the only remaining founder and his name is Adam -- Adam = first man, Adam = founder of the group. Austin is the one who has all the psychedelic tee shirts, which makes me think of the Austin, TX, slogan "Keep Austin weird" (he actually owns that shirt).
Enjoyed your reaction! Home Free doesn't cover a song...they upgrade and enhance them! Yes American Pie and it includes Don McLean! They also just released a video for Pretty Woman...that you will really enjoy!
Adam is the beatboxer. He seldom has a beard. You gotta start with a downbeat, you gotta start with an Adam. Tom Cochrane hit #6 on Billboard with “Life is a Highway” in 1992. #5 on US Billboard Rock charts. #2 in New Zealand. #1 in Canada. He won the Canadian single of the year too. It was huge. You are probably too young. I think the Rascal Flats version topped at #7 on Billboard. Home Free had this on an album and had a video about 5 Years ago. Footage from concerts, BTS and life on the road. Five years later, the new video reflects life going faster and faster. And none of us get any prettier. 😝
Oh those guys are so good and funny. I'm laughing my ass off, especially at their faces. What fun they would have had during those recordings. I've seen it a few times and each time I see something new. But my attention still remained on the singing and that inhumanly good beatboxing. You could say I was laughing while swinging. Because it sounded amazing again. It has become much better than the performance of the Sing Off. But what I like so much is that even if you don't see the video, what you hear is still great. With many groups the song is nice and good when you watch the video, but without a video it is a lot less and I had enough after listening to it once. I don't have that at all with Home Free. They are top, but not over the top
Home Free can really take you for a ride! Keep laughing and feel the wind in your hair. Yes, you must do "American Pie" -- invited by Don McLean to do a 50th Anniversary version of his legendary anthem.
Really glad you found this song. The guys did great and as you saw they can have a lot of fun also. The first time I saw it I had a bit of hard time not laughing my head off. They know how to have a great time while singing. As you already know, you will really like American Pie with Don McLean.. The Home Free guys were later invited to be with Don when he received the Hall of Fame. They sang a part of American Pie there. Thanks for a great reaction, lot of fun.
Love this fun version! Home Free has now done this song 3 times. They are making a 10 year anniversary album of all the songs they did on the "Sing Off" that they won in 2013. This was the 2nd song they did. The 1st one was "Oh Pretty Woman". They released that one a week ago. The guys all sounded great as usual. Love Tim's low bass growl. And Adam Rupp once again stole the show with all his cool sounds. He really has an unreal range.
Great reaction if you haven't heard homefree are going to drop a new music video each firday until November 17th when there new album as seen on tv comes out which will have songs they performed on the singoff. The next video they are going to drop stand by me.
Adam is the beatboxer…remember he doesn’t have a beard…maybe that will help. Austin has “redder” hair. Adam grows his hair longer to donate to kids with cancer. I cracked up at this! Tim and Chance were making me laugh out loud. Chance looked like Popeye and Tim was just too funny. Yes, a leaf blower. Good reaction Tyler! 🥰
Great reaction, loved you couldn't help laughing. YES check out "American Pie". Don McLean contacted Home Free to rerecord his iconic song with him for it's 50th anniversary. It's amazing.
Oh! P.S. You *definitely* need to hear "American Pie"!! It features the original artist, Don McLean, himself!! 😳 If you liked the song, you'll love this version! 😘 Adam's drumming is amazing throughout, but when he joins Don & the others at the end, the 6-part harmony is stunning. He sought them out (due to their amazing harmonies) to help him re-record his iconic classic for its 50th (release) anniversary. Just doesn't get much better than that! 🤯 They performed a snippet of the song when they were invited to join Don at the ceremony when he got his star on the walk of fame. 🤩 There is a fairly recent documentary on YT about Don & his song; the guys show up in that, too.👍 I may be wrong on the title, but I think it's "The Day the Music Died".
Tom Cochrane was the 1st in the early 1990's, yeah Rascal Flatts was a cover. Yes they did a cover of American Pie WITH the writer and songwriter, Don McLean - it was originally released in 1971 and Home Free teamed with him to celebrate the song's 50th anniversary. IT's PHENOMENAL.....react to Amweican Pie for sure !!!!!!
They have a ton of new stuff, older stuff, and another album coming out Nov. 17th, "As Seen On TV." American Pie with Don McLean is another brilliant cover.
Btw, yes they have released many new videos. They are releasing a new one every friday in prep. For their new album which commemorates and rereleases the songs from the Sing Off 10 years ago.
They did American Pie with Don Mclean for the 50th anniversary of the release of the song it’s amazing Yes it’s been a really long time since you reacted to Home Free they have been putting out videos pretty much regularly the past year ( covers and a lot of originals )just in the last 3 weeks we had Oh Pretty Woman Life Is A High Way Stand By Me ( To be released on Friday) Due to them putting out a new album to celebrate 10 years of their win on the Sing Off It will consist of all the songs they sang on the show plus a few bonus tracks it also looks like they will be releasing a video for each one which will be amazing.
It's been 10 years ago that Home Free won the Sing-Off. So... HF is putting out an album with all the songs they performed on The Sing-Off, plus a few others. Life Is A Highway was their second performance. They released Oh Pretty Woman a week before Life Is A Highway, will be releasing about one per week on Fridays at 12 noon EDT/EST. And yes, react to American Pie featuring the original artist Don McLean.
As a Canadian, I grew up with the original version from Tom Cochrane. In fact, I never knew there was a Rascal Flatts cover until Home Free did it. I love how Home Free stays true to the original song while adding their own twist.
I love their sense of humor. They are so much fun! Yes, they actually did an acapella version of American Pie with Don McLean for the 50th anniversary of the song. You gotta check it out!
This is the 2nd song from their new album As Seen On TV. They are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their time on The Sing Off (They won.) You did mix up Adam is the beatboxer and Austin is the sky high tenor(really long hair). The person that first sang the song is Tom Cochrane. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
Adam Rupp is the beat boxer who along with his brother Chris formed Home Free the next current member to join was Rob Lundquist tenor followed by Tim Foust bass then Austin Brown High tenor then Adam Chance joined when Chris left. This video carries on a long tradition of not taking themselves seriously.
I've always loved the Rascal Flatts' version of this song; but Home Free just makes it even better ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ LOVE when the boys have fun with their videos! (Not a bad showcase for their hair either 🤣) I love that they showed Adam doing some of his bass drops--SO talented! 🥰 I don't know that anyone has ever actually publicized Adam's range, but I sincerely believe his is the widest vocal range of all the Home Free fellas 💕 #HomeFree
You know that little problem with their names??? *gives you THE look* 😑 Proof positive it has been *entirely* too long since you've reacted to them!! 😁
I love their rendition of Tom Cochrane's original - and I love Adam's & Austin's hair when it's loose. The singing & harmonies are terrific & Adam has once again outdone himself on the beatboxing. Their collective sense of humor and lack of ego makes for great, fun videos! I agree with you - I don't want a pallid imitation of the original. I always think of the Merilee Rush & Juice Newton's versions of "Angel of the Morning" - totally different approaches but each equally good (unlike the Pet Shop Boys insipid, soulless take on it).
Actually, this was a hit in 1991 by Tom Cochrane (peaked at #6 on billboard) It was just as big as the Rascal Flatts version (peaked at #7 on the billboard) . Based on your age and growing up on country, totally get your perception on it though.
Seriously? I have never heard this by Rascal Flatts. Didn't know they ever covered it until I saw your reaction. I guess I'm just old. I only knew the original. Great reaction, though. Home Free makes everything better. If you did reactions to them more often, you wouldn't forget their names!!
The beatboxer is the only remaining founder and his name is Adam -- Adam = first man, Adam = founder of the group. Austin is the one who has all the psychedelic tee shirts, which makes me think of the Austin, TX, slogan "Keep Austin weird" (he actually owns that shirt).
Adam = Beatboxer

This song actually written by Tom Cochrane back in 1991 and yes it was a hit for him at the time

It will consist of all the songs they sang on the show plus a few bonus tracks it also looks like they will be releasing a video for each one which will be amazing.
This is so very awesome! I love it when they show their silly sides! They don't do covers they do upgrades! Love your reaction!
Great reaction 😂❤

Yes, American Pie is a must.
You know that little problem with their names???
*gives you THE look* 😑
Proof positive it has been *entirely* too long since you've reacted to them!! 😁
Several songs came out:
Listen to the Music (Doobie Brothers)
Skull and Bones (Chance’s original song for a video game)
And more
#JustRuppItUp our favorite beatboxer is Adam Rupp Austin is the Sky High Tenor. #LeafBlowersCanBFun

IT'S ADAM, NOT AUSTIN ON PERCUSSION.

Tom Cochran did this before Rascal Flats did. He does a good version too.
Dammit Man! It's Adam! I can't take you anywhere and this is why we can't have nice things!! There I'm done yelling at you.
Adam Rupp dude
If you haven't heard Voice Play sing Dream On, please do. It's amazing.
Best boxer is Adam Rupp
I hope neither Adam or Austin are tender headed because combing the tangles out of their hair is gonna be a bitch lol.
It's been too long....
Austin sings high, Adam does percussion and other noises.
